According to my interlinear bible, the Greek word is Ieesoús.  Jesus us just the translated word to sound it out in English.

In thinking exactly what is meant by that statement, keep in mind that Jesus wants us each to be one among ourselves, and with him as he is in the Father, so we can be one with them.

God created all else.

The angels are created beings

fallen angels, encluding the fallen annointed cherub Lucifer=satan is a created being.

 

WE humans , are created beings,we are NOT part of the trinity of the ETERNAL Living GOD The Father , Son, Holy Spirit.

We are called His children when we have turned and repented from the ways of the devil satan and have accepted Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

 

Christ Jesus uses the metaphor of a vine and branches to illustrate the relationship between believers and Himself. 

He Christ Jesus states:

John 15:5, "I am the true vine, and My Father is the husbandman. Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bear more fruit. Now ye are clean through the Word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in Me, and I in you. We become the branches that bear good fruit, without Him we cannot exist.

This is a”Nature” or “Kind” issue and when this shared Nature is fully realized, at resurrection, we will be One as matured sons.

While in these earthen vessels, the target is to be like Christ as He by the Spirit works in us.

The use of the word essence is usually used and you are right in that it goes much deeper. Same as us being one with them.

Proper names are pronounced the same in different languages. For example, even though Michael is the English variant of the Russian name Mikhail, when Gorbachev visited the US, he was called Mikhail Gorbachev and not Michael. It would have been a sign of disrespect.
