And there is that...I too am thankful for that as well...but...look at some verses that apply to the blessing and honestly some necessary advantages of progressively taking on some elements of that future inheritance as you grow and mature in this life...right now...today. First lets establish the inheritance and the receiving of it...[emphasis and commentary mine]

“In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, [for those who have received the Holy Spirit in their human spirit] who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, [a down payment one might say] with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, [the “called and chosen” are being redeemed to God’s purpose for them] to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14 NASB

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, [“who has” we can avail ourselves of this aspect of our inheritance...”every spiritual blessing”] just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, [similar to the “Lamb of God”...this speaks to our eternal existence] that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons [before creation was put in place] through Jesus Christ to Himself, [we become mature sons of God the Father...”in Christ.”] according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:3-6 NASB

Ephesians 1:18-21 and Paul’s prayer for us...“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, [the soul responding to the presence of the Holy Spirit] so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, [the Lord’s unique love and calling of each of us] what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, [He considers us His inheritance] and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. [His favor and power to those whom respond in obedience to His calling] These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might [Something only God can do...His grace] which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,[the Lord Yahshua Christ is upon the throne of God] far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.”[He...will rule in this age and the next age]

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,  even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ [Salvation...the Holy Spirit drew us “into Christ”...we are “in Christ”] (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,[He is seated upon the throne of God and those of us being “in Christ”...are there also] so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:4-7 NASB

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, [in Christ] keep seeking the things above, [in the heavenlies] where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. [Right hand...symbolic of all authority and power...those “in Christ” are seated upon the throne of God...“in Christ”] Set your mind on the things above, [heavenly and spiritual] not on the things that are on earth. [worldly and carnal] For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. [this is upon the Throne of God] When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.” [at the end of the age] Colossians 3:1-4 NASB

This was just a “quick hitter” Anne2...in regards to our inheritance, how we obtain it, what it means to “be obtaining” it, how by faith...we may operate in that part of our inheritance we have received...to the end that we grow and mature spiritually to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

This is now...for those who are “called”...are “called from eternity”...spiritually alive in Christ today...living on this earth...just think about that for a few moments...and we are merely passing through on our way to the next age. We have some “clean up” if you will...to attend to here in this creation yet and we are.

Thanks for your response. I will answer this way. As to spiritual verses carnal, with regards to the world we live in and decisions regarding that world..

When I said spiritual I spoke of all the things you mentioned above. Which things Paul possessed as a believer (heavenly citizenship).

When I spoke of  law which is by nature I spoke of those which are outside of that,  among men, the world we  presently live.

Since we agree on Paul possessing all you just mentioned, I will continue into that area with Paul himself.

Appeals to his Roman citizenship.

The friction and dispute the people were taking up with Paul. Paul appealed to his Roman citizenship, and the rights given him under Roman law.

Act 22:23  And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,
24  The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.
25  And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?
26  When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.
27  Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.
28  And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.
29  Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him. {examined him: or, tortured him }
30  On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.

Paul's defense compliance to the law....also of Ceasar.

Ac 25:8  While he answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.

Paul appealed to the judgement seat of Caesar's where he ought to be judged in his Roman citizenship, and not doing any offence under that law as a citizen.

Ac 25:10  Then said Paul, I stand at Caesar’s judgment seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou very well knowest.

This I also think we agree...This appeal to his earthly citizenship, just judgment through it, and obligation to it, is not a denial of his heavenly Citizenship, nor an indication of him not walking in it, with his fellow citizens in it.

Be blessed.

Psalm 52

52 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the Mercy of God for ever and ever.

I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on Thy Name; for it is good before thy saints.

Lamentation Ch4

How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.

The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!

Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.

The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them.

They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.

For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.

Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:

Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.

They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.

10 The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.

11 The Lord hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.

12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.

13 For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,

14 They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.

15 They cried unto them, Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.

1The anger of the Lord hath divided them; He will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.

17 As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.

18 They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.

19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.

20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the Lord, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under His shadow we shall live among the heathen.

21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.

22 The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; He will no more carry thee away into captivity: He will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; He will discover thy sins.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
