PS I agree with your non-Christian group list except for SDA's.

The SDA's are exclusive. They claim to be the only real Christians. That is why I included them. They are exclusive.

I didn't know that. I mean I knew they believed that they are right (heck we all think we are right) but I didn't know that they thought they were the only true Christians, that is disturbing.

Thanks for the answer. I will have to ask you some questions about you church after I read up a little!

If you want to do some searches online, try these names:

The two most important tributaries for the larger movement resulted from the work of Barton W. Stone (1772-1844) and the two Campbells, Thomas (1763-1854) and Alexander (1788-1866) father and son.

It will give you a bit of history of how it came about.

Can I ask a question? I honestly do not mean this to sound rude..so don't take offense, please. But...what is the significance in being the fastest growing anything? What is that supposed to indicate?

It doesn't really mean very much at all. :)

To me personally it just shows how evangelistic and missions focused our churches are.

The Bible only makes Christians only. We have no "ism's" or creeds or anything else. We don't spend large amounts of time preaching about doctrine or other things that can only bog down a church.

Our churches preach Jesus alone and how to grow into Christ. Not just "you gotta be saved" over and over again.

It is more like saying: "This is where we are and where we are going, hope you come aboard."

I do appreciate your question though, Tess.

SDA's..........aren't Christian groups.

Please do not denigrate people like that. I think we should judge people as individuals, don't you? One of my dearest friends, a believer, is SDA. Her faith (and the practice thereof) would put many to shame. And Scripture says to beware of claiming who you "know" and don't know are saved. Thank you. :emot-highfive:

Doesn't seem a little worrying that wicca is the fastest growing religion in the world? Irrelevant of whether the question was worded right. We all get the point, right?

I was talking about the denomination, not specifically the people who attend it.

According to this link, the SDA church teaches:

Growth rates are no indication of truth, and ones religious affiliation should be based on truth. Portraying one's religion as "dynamic" and "up and coming" is an appeal to the desire of novalty. This desire of navelty should be avoided in religion. The purpose of the Christian Church is to pass down what was given to us by Christ and his apostles. It is the nature of start-up religions to generate high-sounding growth rates. Lets say I decide to start my own Church. It will begin with one member, myself. Then I talk my wife and daughter to join my up and coming dynamic new Churh. Now my Church is up to three members. Over the course of the year I get people off of this site to join my church, eleven members total. At the end of the year I can say that my church grew by 1000 percent. This rate will be much higher than older established churches or even newer churches that are only a few years old. The Mormans are notorious offenders in this area.

I have to say that it doesn't surprise me in the least how popular Wicca is becoming due to the success of the Harry Potter series, Charmed and Sabrina The Teenage Witch, to name just a few. These are all quite popular and a lot of parents don't see anything wrong with them and so they let their children watch them, then in turn the children get interested in the things that they see on the screen. Some, maybe even a lot might not agree with me on this though. What I will say though is that I believe in the saying, "that if you put rubbish in, then that is what you will get out".

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
