I'll be checking back here often to get some knowledge and guidance. Like bolts mentioned...I should be studying. That was actually a big part of why I wasn't feeling any peace...seeing auras was occupying my time when I should have been studying. =(

Dear Felix,

When people see auras, they are seeing a part of the spirit world that surrounds us. The pretty, bright colors belong to the positive spirit world and the dark, dull colors belong to the negative spirit world. Don't be frightened by anything that God allows you to see. Just rebuke it and cast it out in Jesus' name. People years ago saw auras and painted them in their pictures as halos around people. But I also agree with what the others have said here. New agers use these spirit world realities like a ouija board. They begin to make such a big thing of it and only focus on the ability to see them. It is important to make the Word of God your life and to focus on God.

He has given us many gifts but the purpose of the gifts is for the edification of the body and also for us to overcome and come closer to God. It is so easy to allow a gift to be perverted and use it wrongly or get so into the gift that you lose your focus on God. It is so important to have a strong, close relationship with the Lord. The gift will never save you. The Word of God and having a relationship with God will. If God does show you an aura, just try to observe and ask Him why He allowed you to see it. It may not be for the person to ever know. It may be for your own discernment. It may be that you yourself look like a monster and then you may ask God, Why do I look like a monster right now? And the Lord may answer you that you've been treating people like a monster at work or some other helpful hint. Then rebuke it and change.

Or again, He may allow you to see someone else who has a very nice aura. Again, you ask Him why and He may show you that He simply wants you to encourage that person or help him/her in some way. It doesn't mean you tell the person that they have a beautiful yellow aura. You have to leave the use of this and any other gift up to God. He can guide us in all things. Whatever you're training yourself to do, you have to ask yourself why you are doing it. Perhaps when you saw the negative thing, God was showing you that your motive in doing this was not right. The only reason we should do anything is so that we can be a better help to God and to the promotion of His kingdom.

Thanks Micah. Very informative.

Sorry bolts...I didn't commit to studying the whole time but thank the Lord He has graced me!

Micah, I think auras are part of a different realm too. The halo and the bright golden yellow behind the head of Jesus in pictures is the aura. I finally understand the essence of what the painters were trying to do. The surreality of the colors of the halos in these painting was to capture the essence of an aura. If I were a painter it would be difficult to replicate it exactly; the color of the aura would have to contrast so differenly from the physical body. When I saw mine in the mirror I laughed :noidea: ...and it actually moves sort of like that. It was pretty much just like this simile except I didnt have wings. I think Christians that have been walking with Christ for a while have one. Actually everyone has some yellow radiating from their head. This probably has something to do with our brain thinking and being enlightened.

However, I don't think seeing auras is a gift from God; I think our eyes are suppose to naturally see them. We just have to train our eyes back to seeing them. I can understand why we don't see them anymore...if I did not have someone tell me that what I was seeing were auras then I would probably have just thought something was wrong with my vision or light was refracting off my glasses or something. It's also hard to distinguish from artificial light, shadows, and colors around us. I think it can be helpful in some ways like being able to know how someone is feeling but I don't think it can edify the Church.

But for the most part, seeing them is just something for me to do when I have nothing in my hands. But again I'm just not sure if I should do it...even though I cannot think of any harm it can cause. I guess because it's so emphasized in spirituality movements that are not of Jesus. So I'm going back and forth from...we're suppose to see them to this is a New Age practice. But mainly, it's just been taking away my time from other things I have to do.

As for what I saw on myself I think I just wasn't ready for that. I still don't know what it was but I will revisit it when the Lord leads me. I'm not at a point to really understand what the auras could mean but I have a desire for this. I believe that I've learned to ask the Lord to precede me wherever I go and to make the way for me before I take it. I'll still have to pray over this for it has opened something new to me. If this is not the Lord's will I cannot -whether I want to or not- have any part in it. But if it is of the Lord then I need to understand what to do. I currently feel that it doesn't have anything to do with the Lord. I appreciate all and any advice on this matter.

It seems like you're very thoughtful concerning this subject and open to whatever God wants. As someone else said, we need to be in the Scriptures, studying and getting them into our hearts above all. The Word of God is more important than our necessary food. Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. We need to be sure we're building our house on the rock. But also, I believe that God gives us certain abilities according to what He wants from us. We may not know how He is going to use these abilities at the present time but eventually He will make it known. In the meantime, we shouldn't worship the ability because God can take it away just as quick as He gave it. I have seen people with wonderful, spiritual gifts who lost out with God. They really thought they were something but it's not the gift that's important but our relationship with God built on the Word of God and faith in Jesus.

As an example, the Lord gave this vessel a natural gift of languages. Years ago, before I found God, I spent a long time on learning them, etc. Then I found God and there came years of doing absolutely nothing with them. I tried to keep it up by reading the Bible in those languages and little other things but otherwise it was totally dry concerning that issue. Now these days, the Lord has been bringing that back into my life. It's kind of strange but it feels good now and right. It's no longer an issue of pride (at least I don't think it is and hope it's not) these days, but just of practicality and usefulness. I don't know where the Lord is going with it but it's an adventure. I'm sure the Lord will guide you also if you are open and willing to do His will. God be with you.

thanks for your inputs. I talked to someone at a church meeting tonight who said he could see auras from some of the saints who spoke. It seems that God conveniently arranged this meeting with this brother. I think I'm clear on this matter now.

It was a couple days ago when for some reason I just looked up auras and came across some sites describing how we can see them. I've always known about auras (had a friend whose mom could see them) but didnt think much about them until I came across a priest on tv who could see them and prophesy over people. After some more research I found that it was EM radiating from our bodies and that our eyes are actually capable of seeing these auras. So I actually did a simple exercise and I saw the aura too.

The reason I'm asking this question is that something frightened had happened. I was looking at myself in the mirror to see my aura. By this time I had actually seen my aura many times but this was different. I concentrated more and then my face and body changed into colors and all I saw of me was a big blob of color (usually it was just colors around me). Then I saw something in my image that real frightened me. I thought I saw another being....and for an instance I thought that I was seeing the inside of my body parts like my bone and lungs! I'm not sure...but it looked real scary.

I have been uneasy about this seeing aura thing the whole day. Seeing auras is correlated heavily with occultic and new age practices so this makes me very wary. I'm just not sure if practicing to see these things is a good idea in the sight of God. I sort of noticed that this was occupying all my time. I feel also that this is sort of replacing my prayer time and fellowship with God and his Word. But another part of me is saying that we're suppose to see these things and that seeing them would be very useful. Also that it's fun and interesting. My mind is not clear...I'm scared and confused at the moment. I can't discern clearly...I need your help.

This happened to me too, except the bones part. I wasn't trying to see auras. but I was looking in the mirror with my eyes unfocused...

I have seen so many professing Christians fall into this trap. Nowhere in the Bible does anyone prophesy according to auras.

You do not have to train yourself to see auras, you do need to seek the Lord continually.

I myself have practiced witchcraft during earlier times in my life.

Guess what, yes, it is real.

& it really opens you up to the devil stealing from your life.

Witchcraft and much of the new age mumbo jumbo glorifies self and the will of self, and I don't know a human alive whom I would say deserved to have their will done no matter what their motives may be.

If someone tells you this is okay to do and they are for this then they are NOT basing their beliefs on the word of the Lord.

I agree with everything that's been said here. The priest that I saw on tv used his abilites more for show than the church. I say "prophesying" for that was what he was doing but not for the building up of the saints unto perfection in Christ.

I've come to the conclusion that it's simply another phenomenon. I believe that people who are more spiritually sensitve can see auras more easily than others, but it is does not produce any spiritual growth. There is no need to train your eyes to see them. My conclusion is that if you see them - that's fine....if you don't see them - that's fine too. To me seeing auras is on the same lines as playing video games or watching tv....if it takes away my time from the Lord then I need to limit it and make sure that my one love and focus is Jesus. So training my eyes to see them falls into the same category...if it occupy's my hearts desire which belongs to the Lord then it must be cut off from me. But if the Lord desires me to see them for his purpose then so be it.

Disconnected, the brother who spoke to me about halos, before he came to know Christ, studied a lot of eastern philisophy. He majored in anthropology and philisophy. He was heavily into spirituality (perhaps not witchcraft but things like buddism) and he did all sorts of mediations and maybe hedonistic things. I believe too that these things "glorifies self and the will of self". And also that seeking the Lord is all that matters. The brother refered to these things as the latent power of our soul. However, it is not the soulish man that receives the things of God but the spiritual. The brother knew that his soul was overgrown and that he needed the Spirit of God to overcome his soul. But he told me that seeing auras is nothing to worry about and that he sees them sometimes when the saints are speaking.

felix- move away from this.

I think the Bible would mention Aura seeing as a gift to be saught otherwise.

Dont do stuff you dont fully understand and dont allow the enemy to get a foothold in this area- he knows a lot more about it than you and is out to trick you.

To my mind just happening to see a spiritual thing is one thing but trying to see them is another.

I sometimes "see" angelic things in times of worship but dont seek it out- it damages you focus from where it should be.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
