Hmmm... I have to disagree, personally. I like seeing the natural wear and tear on those old barns. A coat of paint would actually hinder it's natural beauty.

As for make-up... In general, no, I don't believe it's a sin. But I think the poster who brought up the question of motives has an excellent point. God looks at motives. Personally, as a man, when I see women wearing make-up, less is more attractive. I do wish some women would realize that make-up is by Covergirl, not Ace Hardware.

Like others have said before, it probably depends on your heart and motives when you wear it. . . when it becomes a vain thing, or you are doing it to attract the attention of the other gender, it is completely wrong.

Personaly I don't wear any make-up at all. . . believe it or not, but not one of my seven sisters do. It isn't like we weren't allowed to, we just never thought about it, and now. . . it would just feel so weird!

I don't believe it's a sin unless (as numerous people have brought up) it's for the wrong reasons.

On a day to day basis I don't really wear much makeup (occassionally I'll put some lipstick on or mascara) but I tend to put some on if I'm going out for the evening.

One thing a lot of women don't seem to remember is that it's to enhance what is there, not cover up everything else! Some people seem to be after the "clown" look....

These days, I don't wear makeup unless I'm going out or expecting company. And being 44 now, I've come to the realization that less is more (the makeup has a way of just settling in those little lines ). I guess I put it on because I still like to hear my husband say how pretty he thinks I am when I do. It's nice to hear occasionally.
