"We" are all a mixture of many races. I see no "they" in this question. Researching history back far enough would help anyone learn this.

Although we like to look at our heritage. The Bible tells us not to make too much of our heritage, for it won't matter in heaven.

I would like to know why you are you asking this question, if you will.

They're people, just like everyone else.

Although in certain (geographical) areas, they may have a difficult childhood due to prejudice, which is truly unfortunate.

Well, the Scripture speaks of humanity as Adam's Race, but really doesn't recognize the concept of 'race' the way we do. I think it is an artificial and divisive device of fallen man.

We are all one before God when we are in Christ, the lost are sadly lost. Being mixed race, or one race means nothing in the long run. Who we are in Christ is what is truly important. Please read Galatians verse in my sig line.

I agree. Amen.

in Him;

We see here the "origin" of racism: that the purpose of evolution is to preserve "favored races". Whether that was Darwin's intent or not, others took it as a blanket "scientific" endorsement of the right of "favored races" to exterminate "lower races" in the name of the evolution of man. This is the source of the idea that there are different "races", but there is really only one "human race". If there really were groups of people who are somehow less than human, there would be no need to evangelize them, yet the Bible commands us to evangelize the whole world.

Please tell me if I'm interpreting this wrong. Are you saying that Racism is the result of Darwin's book?

If this is indeed what you are saying, that is (one of) the most outlandish, ridiculous statement I have ever heard in my life. Please tell me this is not what you are saying.

I think people should marry within their own race. There can be medical problems with the children of mixed marriages.

Such as.......?

There can be problems in a couple from two races getting along with each family.

No more so than any same-race couple, I would think. I'm white, my brother in law is white, and I'd trade him for a brother in law of another race any day of the week, lol. :)

To be sure, racism was alive and well before Darwin's book. But the book gave new life to it, as you can see in This Article. Look at this quote from the article:

Sir Arthur Keith, one of the leading evolutionary anthropologists of our century, stated that he was proud that "the German Fuhrer, as I have consistently maintained, is an evolutionist; he has consciously sought to make the practice of Germany conform to the theory of evolution".

Outlandish? Ridiculous? How can you make such judgments on something you haven't yet investigated? Only after you have done your homework can you make such an assessment. The ugly truth is that Darwin's book gave teeth to the ambitions of the despots of modern history. They now had "scientific" justification for genocide and conquest, citing survival of the fittest and promoting the evolution of man. Yes, they were racists before that, but now they had "science" on their side. Do the research and you'll see that this is historical fact, not something you can just brush off with a few assertions.

I don't deny that people used Darwin's book to further justify their hatred and racism. What I felt to be outlandish and ridiculous was the claim that I (mistakenly, apparently) read to mean that Darwin's book was responsible for racism. Looking at the way your statement was worded, it's easy to see how it could be interpreted as so.

Darwin's book "created" little (if any) "new" racism. The racism and hate was already there, however, as you said, they now had "science" to back it up.

You'll notice the first part of my response was to ask that if I had misinterpreted you, you would let me know soi as to avoid any further misunderstandings. Instead of simply informing me that i had misinterpreted your statement, you instead accuse me of having no knowledge on the subject.

what do you think of bi-racial people?

That would be asking me what I think of my children. :)

It's been an awesome experience to have two cultures living within one home. We grow and learn from each other and life is much more exciting! (especially the travel and the music!)

My kids love being bi-racial.

We are all created in God's image.

I think that I am encouraged to see that the bigotry that was evident 20 years ago, is not nearly as prevalent today. Though, admittedly, we have a long way to go.

Hey, I'm a Polish Catholic married to a German Lutheran, who am I to talk?

I'm curious what led you to this question. I'm guessing you have met "Christians" who are dead set against "inter-racial" marriage???

Peace,

Fiosh

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
