Please cease from making this an apologetic for and a discussion about the merits of the Catholic church and its form of ecclesiology. That was not the intention of the OP

"That was not the intention of the OP"

I generally don't like thread hi-jacking but perhaps someone can tell me what the intention of the original post was? It seems nearly any topic would be preferable to the rant of the original post. Just my opinion of course.

Appeared to be a "sin in the church" thread to me.

Well perhaps I am wrong in my assessment Eric but it looked like an agenda post by one of those in the the movement teaching that everyone should leave their churches. You know, if you are in a church, you are in Babylon and all. Very strange. I believe anyone trying to further that type of thinking deserves to be hooted off the stage.

Yes, "Come out of her my people!" Amen David.

The people need to come out of the man-made church system and into the TRUE Church which is in Christ. This is the church that worships in spirit and in truth. The church of God are those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, the called saints, with all those who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place..."(1 cor 1:2). The man-made and religious church is truly in Egypt...where everyone is comfortable and afraid to step out in faith to follow God! We are called to walk in the wilderness trusting God with all our heart...this is the true way to the land of Canaan - the GOOD land.

For the leaders and people of the man-made churches and religioius system, Jesus is counseling you to buy from Him three things:

Rev 3:18...

"I counsel you to buy from Me..."

1) Gold refined by fire that you may be rich...

This real gold is the proving of our faith (1 peter 1:7)...it is the living out of our faith NOT just knowing it. The people in the man-made churches just learn about their faith..they do not step out of Egypt, they do not step out in faith to follow the Lord. They want to remain comfortable...in their church buildings.

2) White garments that you may be clothed and that the shame of your nakedness may not be manifested...

The people in these man-made churches including the pastor push their sins to the very back of their mind. They do not confess them; they hide them. But everything hidden will be manifested by the Light. We need white garments, garments that are not stained with sin and covering of the people's nakedness. Indeed, this is a great shame for even the loss are more righteous in their living than the people in the church.

3) Eyesalve to anoint your eyes that you may see.

The church is blind. No one is seeing the spiritual death; no one is seeing the slaughter of the Lord's sheep; no one is seeing those who are in bondage.

We must BUY these things from Jesus Christ. And buying something requires a price. Indeed, there is a great price to be payed for the rich man-made churches:

The pastor -and congregation- will have to start giving his life fully to the Lord and not to his church building and ministry. He will have to acknowledge the sins of himself and the congregation. He will need to see the deathly condition of the church.

The great preacher may lose his multi-million dollar church; he may lose the admiration of his 500+ church members; he may see that he was leading God's people to himself and not the Lord; he may see that he was the false prophet who says "every thing is going to be okay" when things are not -for the ONLY preach the love of God and forgiveness of sins. This is a great price but Jesus says, "He who overcomes, to him I will give to sit with Me on My throne..." (rev 3:21).

Brothers and sisters, we need to hear with spiritual ears and see with spiritual eyes. "He who has an ear, let him hear what the spirit says to the churches" (rev 3:22). We all have ears! Let us read the scriptures prayfully. For it is the spiritual man who discerns all things (1 cor 2:15).

Apparently they can't go in churches since they have abandoned them as Babylon but its alright to frequent para-church ministries like Worthy Boards! I wish they would abandon this site too!

Churches are often a hassle, if you are serious you are called to give your time, monetary resources, talents, etc, plus the burden of worshiping at a minimum of once a week, plus the biggest problem of all, being around the unwashed sinners who have the gall to call themselves Christians, and then of course we have to get along with other people. All problems and I think many are looking for an excuse not to worship in unit with others, this movement will be quite popular no doubt.

I think the "out of the church" movement actually fits modern America quite well, we can just do it ourselves at home without any real human contact or having to listen to any authority. It probably dates back to the basic rebellions of the sixties combined with an intense form of individualism also from the 60's, me and God, all alone in eternity, how groovy.

Unfortunately for them the New Testament was written to Churches it really has nothing to say to the lone ranger Christian hiding in his or her house. No it was written to real living Churches with real people gathered together around the Word and Sacraments, if you want to understand the New Testament and worship in that way, you must belong to a visible Church.

The true Church of course IS indeed only made up of true believers from all eternity, but all true believers will seek to belong to a visible Church with sound doctrine based ONLY on the Word of God, and unfortunately in that Church will be hypocrites, people who do not really believe. Who would benefit from people leaving true local congregations with real people and actual worship? Think about that, and you will have much of the answer to why this movement is being promoted.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
