If you have not already noticed (haha) Television programming has gone to the dirt, even lower then dirt.

one evening, going to watch the news on one station (9:00pm news) before retiring for the evening, turning the Tele on, there were, well not nice shots of ladies prancing around in their skivies (ladies being a loose term being a true lady would keep that to her husband view only). A victoria secrets fashion show.

this was on national syndicated television.

I contacted the local station to explain that they were not under any obligation to have to show something that is not moral, that is distasteful. this station has yet to reply to the query.

I have enquired about other programs at different times with the stations. Their response usually is that they are syndicated and that they are required to aire the programs that come from the major networks that they are afilliated with, unless......UNLESS...... they are immoral, or totally distasteful.

The Book of Daniel is a slam to not just Christians, but also to Christ Himself. Acceptance of abominations.

We are to accept the person, to love the person but to hate the sin.

As "Watchmen" (or watchwomen), as "Christians" we have an obligation, A DUTY, to pass on the Word of God.

Just Cause Christ came and saved us from our sins, and freed us from the penalties of death for the sins we commit, we are not given a license to continue living in sin or condoning sin or assisting those living in sin or ignoring sin, or even accepting sin as a way of life.......

Christ did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it.

As a new creature (a new creation) in Christ, we are to turn from our old ways, repent, and live the life of the new creation, remaining not just inocent, but "BLAMELESS".

some say we are not to judge others, that does not mean we are to "OK" or condone a persons actions. Most of those that say "Christians are not suppose to judge people" are usually trying to justify their own way of life. We are all suppose to live an upright life, sinless since we have been washed clean, a living witness for what Christ has done for us.

I am not saying those in Christ are perfect, but should be striving for perfection daily......no.... every minute....

We do not have to allow the Broadcast stations to broadcast this trash over the air for the rest of the world to see. We can contact them and let them know we are displeased with their programming.

take the TV guide and go down the list, and let them know which programs you do not approve of and why....

Yeah, I can hear you now.... I dont have time to do that.... or it wont do any good......

no time to take care of our future generations? no time to help protect our children and grandchildren? or neighbors children? .....

It sure wont do any good to just talk about it, with out any action......

Faith is good.... works are good..... but one with out the other is very lonely.....

IF..... thats right..... IF ...... enough people contact their local stations, they can get them to drop programs such as the book of daniel, malcom, king of the hill, family guy, wren and stimpy, and other shows that are tearing families down, that are tearing Christ down.

most people here spend enough time on the internet that it would not even take away more then a few moments of their time to drop an email to the stations about their programming.

I dropped a quick email to a company over one of their ads that is being played, and i did get a response from them that they will be looking over their advertsing policies and will be making changes. I will be dropping more to other companies about their ads, and also asking some to ensure they are not advertising during certain programs....

oh yeah, since i contacted that company, after a short time i stopped seeing that peticular ad on their comercials. so it does do good.

Mike, it will not change unless Christians get off of their rears and take ACTION. Turn OFF the shows, refuse to purchase the products advertised or patronize the establishments advertised, and write the product/establishment and tell them why. Like you said, it takes all of a few minutes to google a place, and find the contact information and email link. It is a darn shame the power that could be utilized if complacency were outlawed, but instead that power is being wasted.

I remember back in the 60s when everybody was burning Beatles records for his Bigger than Jesus remark. This did force an apology out of John although it was weak. But it seems to me that the best way to get our message to the networks would be to stage a TV smashing demonstration. This would send a powerful message to the networks and also insure that primetime garbage would not be coming into our homes. No TV, no problem. :emot-hug:

There are enough of Christians in the world, that if they just didn't watch the sit-coms, and other stuff that is anti-christian, then the programmers would sit up and take note.

Sad thing is Christians watch that stuff, they also watch PG-13 and R rated movies, and justify it as OK.

God says "Come out of her, my people."

Just don't watch commercial TV. Nobody is twisting anybody's arm; the airwaves are free for all to use. Most TV shows are not written or produced by Christians so it is foolish to think they would reflect our values. As for me, TCM is on at my house most of the time.

Sending letters is a good idea too. I had a friend who worked for a TV station once tell me that for every one letter a station recieves they assume there are roughly 600 people with similar opinions who don't write.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
