Greetings to all of you in our Lord Jesus Christ. Although this may seem kind of a strange topic i was curious how everyone felt about this. If you found out you had a serious illness and the doctors said you had 5 days to live, what would you do in the remaining 5 days. Death is something we all will face but what would you do if you had 5 days left ? And yes i promise i will share my feelings on this.

My last 5 days would go to my children. They have a lifetime ahead of them and I wouldn't want to burden them with some kind of abandonment complex. I would also have them pray for me as I know they love me and they love the Lord.

Sorry it's not more virtuous but that's how I feel. :emot-handshake:

Been there?done that! and God brought me out alive! Praise Jesus my Saviour and Friend!

My time was spent in prayer and those praying for me when I was going through this. The Lord is never far and He responded with a miracle and I am no longer critical! and I am here alive! and I thank my Father in heaven for His Mercy!

I'd rent a beautiful home on a beautiful beach and invite my entire family to join me for the final five days.

During that time, I'd take long walks on the beach with each person individually, telling them exactly how much I love them. I'd praise their qualities and love on them through the entire walk. I would leave nothing unsaid.

During the evening we would sit around together with the guitars and piano and sing hymns and other spiritual songs. We'd pray together and we'd talk of heaven. I would ask my brother, who is a Pastor to read the Psalms out loud.

I'd ask my daddy to rock me one last time.

The thing is... sometimes we are in the hosp when we are told we have near no chance to survive, no time left ,not even five days to do anything! more like 5 minutes! PRAYER in all things For God is Faithful.

I know this because I been there. There where and when you hear that you are going to die if you have surgery and if you dont., you are going to die!.either way you are dying! the doctors are panicing..but I knew too late for p0anic even, I knew I was in GOds very hands! and then I was critical for two weeks...nothing they could do..But JEsus knew what HE could do and we knew HE could(although I felt like Psalms 23 in the shodow of death, HE walked with me there! and HE brought me out! It was too late to do anything at all, all the I would of dones-were simply GONE.

I was in and out of conciousness for weeks, I remember praying, I remember people praying for me, I remember the pastors there. I remember that moment when I knew the Lord was doing something and I thought I might live and the next day I was out of the woods! Praise GOd!

Praise God.

Praise God!

I didn't know I was going ot have a new and first grandchild on the way when that happened. I feel so blessed to know him and to be with my children and family again.

IT is hard when you are right there and you know tiem it about up or possibly up and there is NO time left to do the things you thought you woould do. My thoughts were with my hubby and sons.

Everyday I am grateful to be here.

WE don't know when our time is up. We only know that we have a Mighty God who has given us life here adn we can bless HIm with what we do with it and what we do to help our families know JEsus and HIs love for our famlies!

Well as soon as Easter Service is over, I guess I would fly to Hawaii to see my daughter and grandkids. I would enjoy doing Matens and Vespers with them until the end.

I agree with Elkie on this subject. And Elkie Praise the Lord ! Your testimony is convincing truth of what God can do for us. Yes the Lord decides when its time. So should'nt we always be ready. Yes we should. Do we have amends to make? If we do mend your ways! Are there sins we have not professed? Repent ! Unfinished business we been procrastinating on. Complete what is undone. And Rania i love what you said about spending close personal time with Our Lord and our loved ones. But if you were told you had 5 days to live... are you ready ?

"....if you found out you had a serious illness and you only had five days left before your death ....." Hmm, pretty difficult.

Having a serious illness I think it rather likely that you would be incapacitated to an extent and therefore wouldn't be able to do much in the way of hard physical activity. Personally I would take a leave from work - not bother resigning or people would ask too many questions. I, personally, wouldn't want to go round advertising the fact that I was "on my way out".

I would then plan to spend the remaining time at home and not go out unless I absolutely had to. Telephone and email is a good way to "say goodbye" to valuable friends and family who are not within "shouting" distance.

I would then spend the time going through all papers, insurances etc., checking that they are "up to date", "paid up" and that there would be no reason why the companies would refuse to pay out to the beneficiaries. I don't have much in the way of property so would leave the aspect of "who gets what" to be sorted out by those left alive.

The main object would be to try and make sure that anyone left behind wouldn't be stuck with the burdan of "handling my affairs" and "tying up loose ends". I would spend the rest of the time in prayer and contemplation of where I might be going and how excited I would be to be in the position of knowing basically when.

This would be wonderful. We often tell ourselves we are "too busy" to make time for communicating with the Lord and we will do that "later". However, the absolute priority would be to try and bring as many people to the H/S as possible. This would be a great opportunity to be an example of happiness in the Lord - you know, "look at me, I'm dying and look how happy I am at the prospect of living with my father".

I appreciate so much Elkie's testimony. Thanks for sharing.

And I really do not know what I would do. I might just hoe the garden and walk the dog, pray and keep my heart open to God. It seems to me that I would want to be in continual communion with the Lord. Yes. I think that is what I would do, be in communion with the Lord and just let him guide those last few days.......

Drop to my knees and ask the Lord to show me what is my assignment for the last days of my life?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
