Yes. We need the grace of God everyday for everything. Grace from God is the empowerment to do things we are not capable of doing by ourselves. This is so crucial to know...not just the grace that redeems us from sin. This is why we can receive mercy and timely help before the throne of Grace.

Hebrews 4:16

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hebrews 4:16 (Amplified bible)

Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].

Many times I say things like "I need the grace of God for this [task]", "Pray that God may grace me", or "May God give you grace". And people look at me with blank faces...

Most people do not think much more of grace outside of initial salvation. Most people do not think much more of being saved outside of their initial prayer to receive Christ.

But we need to be saved every single day from our situations throughout the day! We need grace everyday..in all our struggles. This is cause for many Christians to backslide and fall...they do not call on the name of the Lord to be saved (romans 10:13). Brothers and sisters...why has this verse been limited only to man's initial salvation of receiving Christ into them? This verse should be applied everyday in all our situations.

Just call on the Name of the Lord and you will be saved.

Greetings,

Felix gave a good answer, so I'll just add my 2c.

Back in '75, because of a particular event in my life, which I won't talk about, I went to God and wailed and wailed because Satan pounded me with self condemnation. After about a week, of pounding on the doors of heaven, God spoke to me so clearly, I thought I was hearing Him with my physical ears, but it was my "spiritual ears" to which He spoke. He said: "My grace is sufficient for thee." I go: "What? What do You mean? Certainly that can't apply to my situation." Well, I was not real familiar with the scriptures at the time, but I found it in reference to Paul's thorn, so I researched everything I could find on that verse. (2 Cor 12:9) None of the expositors I read agreed to what was Paul's thorn specifically. Some say his eyes were bad, (see what big letters I write), some say he was a stutterer (I am poor of speech), and on and on it went. Then again, I felt, more than I heard the idea that "sometimes what is not said in the scriptures, speak more than what is said." Then I understood. We are given grace in our infirmities. We fail so often, does that mean we are not saved? Of course not, God's "grace" is sufficient to carry us through our infirmities and difficulties we face with the Flesh, Satan and this World. We have an intercessor that is ever praying for us before the Father AND HE WILL NEVER LET US GO. If I didn't have that trust, (a covenant between me and the Savior (His favor, not mine), I would have died under condemnation long ago.

So, no matter what the situation, go to God, confess your sins, and He is faithful to forgive you your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. You are bought with the precious price of the blood of the Lamb of God. He didn't pay that price to see any one of His little ones lost.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

So, are you saying that this additional grace is targetted toward your weakness or thorn in the flesh if we respond to our challenge with humility? Is that what you are trying to communicate in regards to the OP?

Greetings David,

I'll let you decide from the following scriptures:

James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

When I went through a really trying time in life- I was praying for more of God's grace- He finally spoke up and said- My Grace is Sufficent (spelling) for You!!

Grace is His unmerited favor (we don't deserve it-and he gives it to us).

I agree with Dad Ernie comments,

I know for a fact he giveth more grace i've experienced it and now i am a "bold" witness to the grace of G-d for his "grace" is sufficient in times of weakness he is made strong and i trust in "not my will but thine lord." what i can't do he can do in me in his time. The thorn in the flesh want win in this regards for greater is he that is within me than he that is in the world.

Christ in you the hope of glory. I am a "bold" witness of that hope as well. It isn't a mystery to me anymore but to some it still is a mystery as they can't see and realize this truth. It is great joy to know the devil's plan for my life will not succeed though he "buffet" (boxes and wrestles me) because of this sustaining power of hope and grace. Though I have to fight the battle and go through it it is good to know you already won the fight before the first blow was ever thrown that's a good fight of faith no matter what i look like in the midst of the battle whatever state i'm in I will be the victor through our lord jesus christ who strengthens me and makes me complete through my trials and hardships and sufferings.

He comforts us so that we can comfort others who are going through trials and tribulations in their life. For this is the hand of G-d and it is marvelous. He restores us on a continual basis yea though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death i will fear no evil for thy "rod" and thy "staff" they comfort me. G-ds correction and gentle leading will sustain us in this life. His grace is sufficient.

Openly Curious,

When I thought about you, I remembered a quote I recently heard:

"Suffering saints are living seed" -Charles Spurgeon

The truth is, a kernel of wheat must be planted in the soil. Unless it dies it will be alone--a single seed. But its death will produce many new kernels--a plentiful harvest of new lives. Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who despise their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. All those who want to be my disciples must come and follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And if they follow me, the Father will honor them.

John 12:24-26 NLT

As you said, He comforts us so that we can comfort others-is where its at.

Even-when others are a witness of us going through trials and tribulations and see the victory that the Lord gives-those living seed are being thrown and those who are fortunent enough to witness-their lives will be changed as they seek the Lord and they too have the potential to keep multiplying. Isn't it great there is a bigger plan and we aren't going through our trials for nothing!!! He is truly the Lord of the Harvest-Thank You Jesus!!!

People see your fruit- Keep on bearing!!!

Blessings

What a great thread this is. Every day we are faced with new trials one way or another and every day we have to call on the Lord for His grace to carry us through, but His supply is unlimited and He gives it freely. Ask and you shall receive. Halleluljah

Dear sweet Candi,

Thank you for your kind words and obedience to the Spirit in writing them and yes you suceeded in making me boo hoo as the very scriptures you used in John has very special meaning in my life. G-d used these very verses to comfort my heart when my dad died. It is a very interesting story in the fact I never knew my real dad I only remember seeing him only once in my life. He was a drunk who beat my mom badly. I never heard from him until I was in a girls drug rehabilitation home trying to overcome depending on drugs and alcohol.

when my father called all he said was "Hello this is your father and I love you I am dying and I left you in my will and he said good-bye and it was all i could do to get I love you too out. But that was the entire conversation. We buried him on Christmas day as he died of emphsema. While they were lowering him into the ground the Sprirt reminded me of these very words in John except a kernel of wheat fall to the ground and die it has no hope of the resurrection.

My heavenly father went to great lenghths to reach me with that message "I love you and you are in my will" for I didn't feel at all like I was in his will at the time I was a total introvert at that time because of events as I have overcome so much but still have far to go. But dying out to self is a hard road but it is the only road I want to take. If you could see where Jesus brought me from to where I am right now then you would know the reason why I love him so. The words to a song which is so true to me in my battles to be an overcomer in whatever state I'm in good or bad up or down. blessings my dear sister and peace be upon your house.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
