What Name Would You Choose

In biblical times God often changed a person's name to reflect something He was doing in their lives. Even today Popes and Kings change their names to reflect what they hope will be the characteristic of their rule.

My question is if you could choose a name to reflect what you hope God will do in your life, what would it be?

Mine would be Timothy. The letters of Paul to Timothy have always been my life books. My life verse is:

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

2 Timothy 2:1-2 NASB

I would pray that my life would reflect the instructions Paul gave to Timothy in these letters (please pray that for me)

I would keep my name. It means follower of Christ, and that is what I am. My mother was an agnostic when she named me, so that is really an odd thing.

I also would keep mine as it means "harvester"...

I'd change mine to Matthitjah.

Oddly enough my real name is David. My parents tusseled over calling me Matthew. Yet David Matthew won out. So here I am.

Well, my middle name is "Grace" and I think I;ll keep it!

I would also keep mine:

Susan - "lily" or "rose"

Jane - "YAHWEH is gracious" - this is the female version of John, and John the Baptist was a forerunner of Jesus to prepare the way for his first coming and John the disciple was the "disciple that Jesus loved." I do believe God has been very loving and gracious to me throughout my years, and I also believe he has called me to be one of his messengers in helping to prepare the way for his return, so I would definitely keep this name.

Oh, and added to that - my last name is "Love", so how much better can you get than that?

Golly, there are so many things I hope God will do in my life that I couldn't narrow it down to one name.

But, if I could name what I want my life to be, it would probably be simply "worshipper of God."

The only "name" I could find to fit the bill is Diella - the Latin form.

I have never read this as fact but according to my Mother the names James, Jamie and Jackie mean gracious gift of God..

I was given Jackie but my sister is named Jamie so I have to stick with Jackie

my name is Daniel, now i would pray that God would use me, even if only in a nominal way, as he used the forebearer of that name.
