In biblical times God often changed a person's name to reflect something He was doing in their lives. Even today Popes and Kings change their names to reflect what they hope will be the characteristic of their rule.

My question is if you could choose a name to reflect what you hope God will do in your life, what would it be?

Mine would be Timothy. The letters of Paul to Timothy have always been my life books. My life verse is:

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

2 Timothy 2:1-2 NASB

I would pray that my life would reflect the instructions Paul gave to Timothy in these letters (please pray that for me)

Unfortunately most names now do not hold significant meanings as in ancient times: ala Paris Hilton...( to those I've offended, I'm not attacking Paris!)

BUT, if there is a name with a meaning for kindness, love etc, I'd like that, because that's how God has treated me. LNJ

My name means light or bright one. I to believe He is using me in that way, giving light in my world. I believe also that He is planning bigger things for me and I am being prepared for the bigger things so I would love prayer in that regard. Right now He seems to have me pretty isolated and changing a lot of things in my life. I need prayer to allow Him to make the changes necessary to do what He wants me to do.
