Hi all,

I was reading the verse about the unpardonable sin against the holy spirit. I was wondering if you have lost all faith and can't seem tp pray anymore does that mean you might have commited this sin. When my mother died I was unable to attend church. Me and my mother took the kids every Sunday. I have not been able to go back since. I really have no idea why. I can't sem to bring myself to pray. I geuss I don't see the point because I feel like I am lying to God. I have not felt his presence in my life for three years. If you committed this sin would that mean you would loose all desire for Christ and his message. If it's unforgivable then have you lost hope for your salvation. I am just confused. A pastor didn't tell me what this sin meant but that I wouldn't care if I had commited this sin. So if it has gotten to the point where I don't seem to care then does that mean I have. I have no real explanation for why my life has gone this way so if anyone has any input please let me know. Jackie

My dear friend I think the only sin that is unpardonable is the sin committed against the Holy Ghost.I am a student of the bible and there are many on these boards who may disagree with me,I am willing to be corrected if I am in error.I believe that sin is the one of unbelief. Through the sheld Blood of Jesus Christ al my sins are forgiven. The sin against The HOly Spirit theone of unbelief says That Jesus life ,death and resurection mean nothing. Not so my dear friend. The sin question has been resolved. The Question now is How do we treat The Lord Jesus Christ, do we believe what He says is true or false. Love in Christ littlejoe

Jackie,

God is holding you in His loving arms - even when you are experiencing a low in your life. Tell Him how you feel honestly - He will answer you when it is time. "Even though we are faithless he is faithful..."

I will be praying for you.

Jackie,

Rest assured you don't have to "feel" close to God to belong to Him. In fact, in real relationships, feelings fluctuate. When my best friend's son drowned during a 30 minute visit to a well-supervised public pool, I wanted nothing to do with God. I told Him so. I told Him I wasn't interested in His guidance or His input in my life. I was honest with Him. Three years later, my friend has grown more than I could have imagined, though I stood with him many many times on the brink of suicide. My point isn't to tell you what to do or how to feel, but simply to say that there is no way you've done anything to take away your saving grace or to make God give up on you. Not possible. Just start slow, be honest with God. Don't pretend with Him. If you're furious, tell him. If you don't feel like listening, tell Him. Any God that doesn't want us to be honest with Him is not a God worth living for.

Hope we can chat more about this.

Thak

Jackie,

If you are here, you are seeking Christ. Which says to me that you still love Him and He most definitely loves you and is speaking to you through the Holy Spirit. Unpardonable sin is to sin against the Holy Spirit. We all go through wilderness periods in our lives and many of us go through a refining that we look at as desolation but it is not. There will come a day when there will be a word spoken that will break through the hardening of your heart over the death of your mother, you will fall to your knees and beg forgiveness for your absense and the Lord will welcome you with arms wide open.

Just keep seeking.....God Loves you greatly and has not forgotten you.

Jackie, as was stated, the unpardonable sin is to blaspheme the Holy Spirit in any way. Please stop worrying about that.

Well said. Jackie, you hit a rough patch and turned away when you lost your mother. It happens. (And I'm very, very sorry for your loss). But it's time to make things right with God. By the sound of your post, you already know that. He is waiting. And may He richly bless you.

Unpardable sin is rejecting Christ completly and continueing to live in a lie of the devil. You can only serve one master, and you will serve one and hate the other. If you commited this sin, you wouldnt be here asking everyone if you have, this is assurance my friend, when someone commits such a sin, his heart is hardened, and he follows his/hers own lusts til death.

Hello Jackie,

Their have been many of thoughts centered around this question in which you bring up. I would agree with jckduboise in her comments unto you. that it is very obvious to us you are in fact seeking God or you would not be here inquirying. I've always tried to walk light if that is good terminology when it come to the Holy Spirit of God. I also am a student of the word of God.

My personal thoughts from what i see in scriptures is more or less a rejection of the Holy Spirit of God. I'll eloborate in a minute but before I do I want to make this comment in how one can blaspheme the word of God which is to hold the truth of the word in a lie. Simply meaning you don't do the word or practice the truth of God's word in your life you reject it you blaspheme the word this way. Jesus said you can talk about me you can talk about the Father but if you speak against the Holy Spirit of God then it will not be forgiven you.

Now the judgment part of this is plain it will not be forgiven plain and simple no questions asked.

But the "why" question is what we must look at why would this be so harsh of a punishment I mean it is almost like the mark that was set upon Cain when the Lord rejected his offering and Cain killed his brother Abel and God cursed Cain and set a mark upon Him.

And my thoughts towads this is that the promise of the Spirit of God was given to us it was prophesied in the old testament In the book of Joel chapter 2 and fulfilled in Acts chapter 2.

It was also prophesied the Messiah Jesus would come and give his life a ransom for many.

Jesus died went to the cross and suffered the untold agony as He gave His own body as the supreme sacrifice for our sins we done. And told us He would not leave us comfortless that He would send the comforter the Holy Spirit of God back down to us this earth when He finished and sprinkled His own blood on the mercy seat so making peace for the sins of mankind.

If one "rejects" which is speaking out against the Holy Spirit of God in a negative way then that person cannot or will not ever become sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise which is Marked by God as one of His bought back through His own death on the cross and it is the most earnest of our inheritance scriputes tell us.

You see it is the Holy Spirit of God right now that God is using in this time period in order to draw us to Christ the Holy Spirit is convicting hearts the Holy Spirit in the life of believer is comforting their hearts and continually guiding and teaching us the ways of God in order for us to follow. It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit that is so important to look at and the role the Spirit is playing in this earth.

If you get saved from sins it is because of Spirit of God

If you get healed it is Spirit of God

If you receive salvation it is because the Spirit moved upon your heart and you said yes to His Lordship in your life.

If you are full of hate and bitterness it is the Spirit of God that will be your helper to overcome.

You see whatever it is we are in need of from God it will always be given to us throught His Holy Spirit.

So if you reject and speak against the spirit of God then in essence you have doomed yourself because you have rejected the ministry of the Spirit which are the works of God in our lives. That is what the Pharisees did they rejected the administration or ministry of the Spirit. So God can never seal them with the Holy Spirit of promise as one of His purchased possesions. So that is why I think it is unpardonabe sin.

Also it is judged so harshly I think is because of the great sacrifice the Father give unto mankind so we could have the Spirit work on our behalf and be with us leading and guiding us in the truth so that we can and would be able with the spirit's help get saved and be able to receive of God.

And that sacrifice of God's only begotten Son the Supreme sacrifice did not come cheap for it cost Jesus his own life and his own blood to atone the sins of mankind in order for the administration of the Holy Ghost of God could come and work drawing and calling us to Himself ever so closer and sealing those that are His. So this is why I think it is judged so harshly.

blessings

Hi all,

Thank you for your comments but I am still slightly confused. If you sin against the holy spirit that means you cannot be saved. What if you were saved and walked away from that life? Is that sinning against the holy spirit? I have not had much to do with my faith? Often I have even questioned it? Yet I still refuse to completely stop believing in it. Once I honestly heard the Holy Spirit working in me but that was so long ago. Now my desire is gone! I am trying to find my way back because I long for that peace but seem to be getting nowhere. Is this a hardening of the heart the Bible refers to? I have prayed and even tried to read my Bible! Still nothing stirs withinme. So i began to think that maybe I have commited this sin because I feel shunned. Maybe I am overshooting but I knew the truth and walked away. The impardonable sin is to blaspheme against the holy spirit. Isn't what I have done along the same lines. I have sinned concsiously knowing it was against god isn't this blaspheme? Jackie

Hi all,

Thank you for your comments but I am still slightly confused. If you sin against the holy spirit that means you cannot be saved.

oc

Yes you are confused Jackie0621 we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God does that mean we all cannot be saved no not at all. There have been times in all of our lives that the Holy Spirit will be trying to get us to do something but we wouldn't listen. While we falter and fail God at times does not mean we commited the sin of blamphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Just means we will come short of God's glory in our lives as a result of our failure.

Now just ask yourself have you verbally assaulted the Holy Spirit spoken out against it as not being from God. Or do you believe the Holy Spirit was sent from the Father above when He ascended back up into heaven. As Jesus promised in John 14 that He would send the comforter which is Holy Spirit back to this earth to lead guide us into all truth. What is your personal belief is Holy Spirit from God or do you believe it wasn't and if you believe Spirit is not from God have you verbally assaulted attacked spoken out publicly against it as not being from God. Only you know what you have and have not done.

But just because you sin does not mean you cannot be forgiven again all you have to do is confess your sins and get back up and get on the right road again.

jackie

oc

I want you to see your own heart here for you say "Yet I still "refuse" to completely stop believing it it" these words of yours ought to be proof in the pudding that you are not against the Holy Spirit of God but are for it.

jackie

Now my desire is gone! I am trying to find my way back because I long for that peace but seem to be getting nowhere. Is this a hardening of the heart the Bible refers to? I have prayed and even tried to read my Bible! Still nothing stirs withinme. So i began to think that maybe I have commited this sin because I feel shunned. oc

You say your desire is gone but that is only what you think and not reality again the proof is in the pudding as you go on to say "BECAUSE I LONG for that peace but seem to be getting nowhere." That longing Jackie is your hearts desire to come back to God and allow Him to work in your life once again that longing only comes from God who is stirring your heart to do so. You have been away for a while for whatever reasons and a hard heart may be the results but a hard heart can be softened again and you begin to read study the word pray and doing the will of God once again that peace should come but with time and I want to say that again "But with time" it will begin to grow in your heart. There are many times I do not feel God and I feel shunned also but just let those feeling cause you to search for Him with all your heart so He will be found of you when you do this. God will hid his face from us at times but don't be alarmed for He is always there whether we feel Him or we don't

You may have disobeyed his word but that is forgiveable again we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Hope I have helped in some small way

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
