The Holy Spirit works through people. So, it is perfectly acceptable to say the person wins souls. Billy Graham carries a strong annointing as an evangelist. This causes him to be able to deliver the gospel in a way people respond to. Most pastors can and do not do this. The ones that do, usually end up with mega churches.

That's an exaggeration and an insult to the many fine men of G-d toiling away in small rural churches, like my pastor. I think perhaps you need to rethink your opnion. A man is not capable of winning anybody to G-d. He is only able to do this through the Spirit's anointing, which is available to all. The size of a congregation or the notches on somebody's Bible is NO indication of their "success" as a minister or evangelist.

However, God does gift different people in different ways. Some are evangelists, some teachers. All are important to the body

God bless ALL the evangelists calling sinners to repentance and leading them to Jesus Christ. Evangelism is a great and wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ. My own conversion from death to life, from sin to righteousness, from Satan to Christ was realized through the work of an evangelist (through the Holy Spirit, of course in case someone disagrees).

I heard GOD'S WORD in the spirit of truth for the first time in an evangelical crusade even though I religiously went to church every Sunday for almost 20 years. Yet I lived in sin, I was enslaved by and in bondage of sin, I believed my evil works would bring me to hell and my good works could perhaps bring me to heaven. In short, I was uncertain of my salvation. I was made to believe that Christ's works at Calvary was not enough for my own salvation. But the evangelist in ONE MINUTE opened my ears that I could hear and my eyes that I could perceive THE TRUTH about my eternal destiny. I REPENTED from all my sins and TURNED to Jesus Christ. From that time onwards, my life had been drastically changed. From my own story, I can confidently say apart from the evangelists, many souls are losts.

Thank you Lord God for Your anointed EVANGELISTS!

Evangelists preach salvation. Pastors preach doctrine.

Wow. Chapter and verse, please.

Hi all... in an attempt to "...earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.."(Jude 3) I feel that it is important to know the truth about EVERY person who claims to be a "messenger" of God. It is a known fact that Billy Graham has ALWAYS made it clear at his crusades that if someone "came forward" that the prayer counselors were to NEVER instruct them to leave a church that they may have already been a part of. They are encouraged, to get involved in whatever church they are currently attending... whether Catholic, Mormon, etc.. He also has on numerous occasions stated that he believes that are many ways to Heaven. He told Katie Couric on the Today show after the pope died, that there was NO DOUBT in his mind that the pope was in Heaven, that he (the pope) was probably the most Godly man that he has known in his lifetime.... I am in no way trying to say that Billy Graham is not a Christian, but when what he says or does does not line up with Gods Word then aren't we to reject it... Thanks..

Right. I'd love to read your edited parts. I have wondered how he could encourage one to stay in a non-Christian church and "bloom where you are planted." That never made sense to me. Steve Camp had a great article on his website about the Pope waking up in Perdition. Camp's thesis is, if the Pope was such a godly man, how could he lead so many astray? I wonder about Graham's "gift of discernment." Perhaps he missed that one. Here's the Steve Camp link: (Link removed by moderator - we do not allow sites that have negative things to say about any denomination. We do not allow Catholics to post anti Protestant rhetoric, and we will not allow protestants to do the same)

But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God. For it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall give praise to God." So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Franklin Graham or Billy and Franklin Graham what do you think about their ministry?

Billy and Ruth Graham have lived in the same home in North Carolina, very modest, that they had when they were first married. I firmly believe that God raised up Billy Graham for this time in history. I first encountered Billy Graham in 1952 in Seattle Washington when I was in High School and I sang in his choir of about 900 people.

I have never known him to change his message in all these years.

He has presented the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ to millions around the world. No one really knows until we get to heaven how many will be there because of his ministry.

Franklin has Samaritans purse and they travel all over the world giveing aid to the needy.

When interviews on TV, Franklin NEVER misses the opportunity to give out the gospel, no matter who he is talking to.

Billy has parkinsons desease and will probably not be preaching much any more as he is in his upper 80's.

As with all huge ministries, I'm sure that there are things that we could pick apart, but Billy Graham has stayed true to the faith for 50+ years.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
