Because of the angels?

I think one of the first questions I posted when I came here was about that subject - sons of God and daughters of men. I tend to lean towards that being fallen angels and human females also, but I'm not positive. It had to have been really, really bad for God to send the flood and destroy all but Noah and his family, and it happened relatively fast, compared to when Adam was created until the flood. The Book of Enoch (I know it's not Scripture), goes into fair detail about it, and there are a few verses in the Bible that seem to be referring to it also.

The Lord put it upon my heart to address this very passage a couple of months ago, as well as this very question. I have already started my submittal on the subject, yet my present work load has been so taxing I set it aside to meet my other obligations. I will try to resume it Saturday.

Peace,

William

Interesting. I was taught that the Corinthians knew what Paul meant, but that we cannot know definitively. It is a verse that has perplexed modern interpreters. We can only speculate. It is not core truth, of course.

I am sorry you received that teaching! In Truth, the Entire Word of God is open to all who seek the Kingdom of God. We also know that no Scripture is of private interpretation meaning that all the diverse views and opinions floating around today, all but one is wrong. The Holy Spirit opens our eyes first to the milk then to the meat of His Word. This does not mean that the Word changes as we grow neither in wording nor meaning but, that it takes on new depth and application in our Spiritual walk.

All we need is to read Paul's writings to understand that the "head" and "covering" he is talking about is the natural order that our God, who never changes: "Same yesterday, today and, tomorrow", built into creation from the beginning. Satan fell in the garden just as God commanded. God did not change Lucifer's nature nor created being but cursed him to be lower than all other creation. Yet, the remaining angels (two thirds) who did keep their hearts and obedience to the Lord - "First Estate" were then made protectors over creation because man had sinned and separated himself from God's direct presence. This is a simple thing and not that hard to understand. Now, knowing these things plus the consistent position of the angels to be ministers of God unto man even the Lord in the flesh, we can easily see even as John saw as he recorded in Revelation that they are ministering spirits who have not stopped from the beginning accomplishing all God directs them in. They withhold (let), the evil one, the antichrist, satan's own, until Michael is told to let him loose which is when his real reign of terror (tribulation) will begin.

And, until we are taken up in the First Resurrection at the sign of Jesus coming again, they shall continue in their duties unto man as God directs. As I said in my previous post, they know perfectly God's will and order. It is a shame unto their duty if the flesh is glorified while praying or prophesying in the spirit. The other part of the "head" or "covering" is the Spiritual head, the husband, must be in agreement with his wife for he is the spiritual head over his house and his family. His house must be "orderly" in the will of God. A woman who prays or prophesies outside of that "covering" or blessing and agreement of her husband brings shame upon him (her head).

Now I know this discourse probably raises the hairs on the necks of a few at least but, I ask those how can you say you love and believe ALL God's Word yet, be opposed to the direct straigtforward meaning before your eyes? Paul did go on to say that this wasn't a "ruling" or "doctrine" in any church but that it is Truth.

Regarding diverse teachings, I have this to say: Many ignore, excuse or, plain change the actual simplistic Truth of certain Scriptures to ease their own conscience or cover for their own lack of understanding.

Procreation is of the flesh creatures only

That would mean that Christ was not immaculately conceived as the Bible says.

Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Procreation is a flesh bound feature whether man or creature. The Holy Ghost Sanctified Mary's womb with God made flesh for Him (the Word of God) to indwell. There was no sex nor seed mingling involved! How on earth can you even compare this??

I have to respectfully diagree with RCruise on this one. I believe this verse has everything to do with the fallen angels and their lust for the daughters of men.

In Jude 6 & 7 we see: "And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgement of the great day, as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh"

See also Genesis 6:1-4

The verse you inquire about, Calamity, has always fascinated me.

Jude

Although I don't understand it, and I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, this verse of Scripture was brought to remembrance. Is it meaningful to this discussion?

1 Peter 3:7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

In His Love,

Suzanne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
