A belief that you must know Greek and Hebrew to have a fully reliable text is to say that God did not have the ability to keep his word in tact for future generations.

That is especially true since the original scrolls have fallen pretty much into decay and you cannot pick up a copy at your local store to read it, even if you do know Greek and Hebrew.

You can now pick up a copy of the UBS or Nestle Greek from your Bible bookshop. The only difference is punctuation, which did not exist in koine. Both are the result of long, arduous and intensive, scientific study that has resulted in almost complete unanimity among academics of all sorts, a feat that Christians should be very grateful for.

I put my faith in the TR.

So you don't actually know. You allege that the vast majority of scholarship is biased, without knowing anything about the subject. That may be your bias.

Since the new translations based on new found manuscripts claim that portions of scripture don't really belong in the Bible, to me that breeds doubt and confusion, of which God is not the author. It says to the reader that the latter part of Mark's gospel for instance may not really be the Word of God.

I have never met any born again user of a modern Bible who finds that any difficulty- or anyone else, for that matter.

I motion that pointer split this topic and start a new thread so that he can debate with himself (or anyone else with enough patience ) about his divine viewpoint.

The condescension and accusation emanating from this conversation not only have nothing to do with the OP's question, but they are honestly frustrating. That or just close the thread as there are enough pages of honest answers from those who contributed their "opinions" as asked.
