You know that the Gaza stripe eviction of the Jews happened prior to the big storm. Our president agreed with the eviction. Wow, Look how many people can not return to their home land. Real strange. I think we need to remain a blessing as a nation for Israel and not side with the enemy concerning anything.

Why didn't Katrina hit burban (cant spell) street. Thats the nastist place!! Why the poor people. But I believe the just died along side the unjust. We are no different. And the just and unjust in some cases were spared.

We as a nation should turn to prayer and not patriotism to get us through everything that has rocked us. What happened to good old fashioned repentance and revival?? We need revival.

I don't know how I truly feel about this but has any one of you ever been to New Orleans? I have on more than one occassion, my BIL was in the hospital there with a broken back then a heart attack. There had to be guards posted everywhere through out the hospital and this was before 9-11. the violence was so bad. the city literally stank, everywhere you went there were tarot card readers, palm reader, prostitues, drugs gangs voodoo this is all out in the open nothing to hide. And this was not for mardi gras, then mardi gras is a whole other issue, mardi gras came about for all the heathen and pagens to celebrate there sins before lent started on ash wednesday. nudity sex it was all there. plus all the above mentioned magnified. Then there were hurricane parties that is where the drink named hurricane came from people would stay to ride out the hurricanes saying bring it on. Then I think through out history of the Bible God does send down his wrath. as mentioned in previous threads. So if God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, why would the wrath for sinners then be different now? I've heard someone comment that God wouldn't hurt children and that thousands of chidren were killed. that info is wrong, children ages 0-5 yrs old 1 death, children ages 5-10 yrs old 1 death, ages 10-18 a total of 18 deaths. the rest were adults, a total of 1837. I don't know if God made this happen , but I do know he knew it would happen and people were warned.

I went down for a week after the storm and it literally broke my heart. I did not want to come home, there was and still is so much to do there. People need to be ministered to and loved on, and to be told Jesus loves them

Katrina means cleansing and I do believe that this was a cleansing. there were so many that did not want that city to be restored as it was. But they that do not want it back need to take it and give it to the Lord. I prayed with someone about that I wish I knew what they did with that advice. Anyway God is in control and always will :24:

I have always wondered if Katrina was sent by God as a sign that New Orleans should change. Isn't this event similar to the story of Saddam and Gamor ? New Orleans was filled with sin nudity, drinking, partying, sex, etc. So do you think this was destined to happen?

I believe it is incontrovertably a message from God but not just to New Orleans.

How much did your gasoline go up because of it? How many cities are now suffering the blight of lawless refugees? How much do you think the government is going to take out of your paycheck to pay for the rebuilding? How about Trent Lott's house being leveled? Did you notice that GW's poll numbers took a dive and have never come back up?

No...it is a much larger curse than just a particular city. It is a warning to all of us that very few have heeded.

Joey,

Yes I will be glad to clarify. I by no means meant to imply that the evil that men do on this earth is caused by God,or that it is done because that is what God wants man to do.

I do believe God's hand is in hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornados, sunrise, sunsets, rainbows, and the very air we breathe. In all these things he has a purpose whether we are able to see it or not.

I believe God's hand was in Katrina simply because God's hand is in everything here on earth. But I do not believe it was a judgement against New Orleans or the MIssissippi coast(People tend to forget that way more actual hurricane wind damage was done here in MS).There was a lot of bad came out of the storm, the loss of life was terribly sad, the government help being so slow , but we came through it ,and it was such a blessing to see all of the good that came in the aftermath.People driving thousands of miles to help and all people giving of themselves and what they had,be it big or small,to help their neighbors.People praying together and loving each other.

Are you suggesting that God's hand is also in things like rape and incest and murder? Or even the Holocaust for that matter?

Just wondering if you could qualify that statement...

Joey

I do not think that God takes pleasure in the hurt of any person. God sent plagues on Egypt, I do not think that it delighted him to do so. But he gave a explicit command and when that command was not heeded there were consequences for the actions taken. God allowed David's child with Bethsheba to die, but that was a consequence for the choice David made to sin against God. And let us remember God used a donkey to get a message across. He can use whatever, whenever and however he chooses. To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die: a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted. A time to kill and a time to heal: time to break down, and a time to build up. A time to weep , and a time to laugh: a time to mourn and a time to dance(Ecclesiates 3:1-4).

Yod I agree with you greatly in the sense that it was not justa message to New Orleans but to all of us. I believe like someone else posted it was to bring everyone together in prayer and helping the neighbor. I believe it was a warning for other places and people who sin that anything can happen at any time and there are consequences for sinning. I foyu are living in sin and want to turn to God and be saved tomorrow after just one more night of sin you could die tonight and never get that chance.

I believe that God has got His day mapped out when He will pour out His wrath. As Yod suggested these disasters are wake up call, and also, I would imagine, a demonstration of His power. Ya don't mess with the Almighty.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
