From the Canaan LP The Legendary Goodmans, a song that speaks volumes"I Saw The Man":

1. I often wondered who could be so cruel to hang my Lord upon a rugged tree.  But then I chanced to pass an old looking glass and there I saw the answer staring back at me.  I saw the eyes that turned aside.  I saw the lips that sadly whispered, "Crucify."  I saw the feet that walked in sin and I saw the hands that drove the nails in Him.  I saw the man who crucified the Lord.

2. Have you ever wondered about the sacrifice He made; about the pain and the suffering he went through?  Well if you should chance to pass an ole looking glass, you'll see the answer staring back at you.  You'll see the eyes that turned aside; you'll see the lips that sadly whispered, "Crucify."  You'll see the feet that walked in sin and you'll see your hands that drove the nails in Him; you'll see the man that crucified the Lord.

Speaks volumes to me!

Who crucified Jesus?

I did.

Like I told my son yesterday - if no one else was ever born but you; if no one else ever existed, Jesus would still have had to die - for your sin.

And, not a day goes by that I am not grateful.

Amen and amen and amen........

As Rusty Goodman said-"I was that man that crucified the Lord." He bore my sins, so I sent Him to His death with my sins.

Jesus answered this question when Pilate asked Him knowest thou not that I have power to crucify you or to set you free, and Jesus answered and said to Him, you could have no power over me unless The Father gave it to you. God's word had to be fulfilled for our sakes. We are the reason, He was His own executioner.

Nothing happens under the sun without God allowing it. This is how he catches them in their own craftiness.

Job 5:13

He catches the wise in their own craftiness, And the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them.

God allows alot of evil to happen. That doesn't mean he planned it to happen. Nor is he responcable for it. Jesus did not kill himself. He just allowed his murders to accomplish their plans. There is a difference.

the Bible says that Jesus was the lamb considered slain before the foundation of the world. Jesus came to the earth to die for the sins of mankind. Jesus on more than one occasion said that he was giving his life. Jesus was not murdered. He was sacrificed for the sins of mankind by His Father. Jesus said that he did not come to be served, but to serve; and give his life as a ransom for many. Jesus also said

John 10:15

even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

John 10:17

"For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.

Jesus gave his life and this was planned for by God before he created the world. It did not just happen. God did not just "allow" it. God actively planned it,, carried it out, and Jesus submitted to His father's plan.

Therefore, one cannot lay the blame for Jesus' death at the Jews doorstep. They were doing what God had planned for them to do.

<<The false teaching that the Jews killed Jesus has permeated church theology and doctrine for thousands of years. We need to realize the facts pointed out above, that it was not the Jews that killed Jesus, but it was man in general. >>

Jesus died for all mankind. But, it was the Romans who drove in the nails. And it was the Jewish Priests who wanted it done and motivated them to do it. This was foretold in the O.T. Judas betrayed the Lord for silver. Is he innocent because the whole thing was part of God's plan long before Judas was born.

Why is it we're not allowed to say this without being labeled anti-Semetic? I'm really tired of political correctness. It's has a chilling affect on honest discussion. Yet everybody talks about, the truth, the truth, the truth.

No Charlie, YOU personally drove in the nails and so did I and so did everyone else who has lived since the coming of Christ!! :P Since we are in such a sorry state (sin wise), Christ had to give His life on the cross so that we might be saved! If we had of been sinless there would of been no need for Christ to be crucified! It's all OUR faults!!

You Charlie are as much to blame as anyone else! :P

Only Christ Saves :P

Hello all

If there is one thing that I would pray for is that fear could be removed from this question "Who Crucified Jesus" Anyone who reads the gospels without fear can see who where the driving force behind the execution of the Messiah. It was indeed the religious Jews. While many Jews did consider Jesus a great prophet and came from miles around to hear Him, the powers within the Jewish community saw in Jesus a false teacher and a danger to their influence. That is why they did all they could to get the Romans to execute Him, because they knew He had a following.

Matthew 26

1 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples, 2"You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified."

3Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, 4and plotted to take Jesus by trickery and kill Him. 5But they said, "Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people."

I believe that pilate saw that the Jewish religious authorities where trying to get him to execute Jesus as a way of focusing the anger of Jesus followers on to the Romans. I believe pilate did see their plan and reacted accordingly, trying to avoid executing Jesus by offering barabbas and then eventually washing his hands of Jesus. It was only when the Jews whipped up by their religious leaders demanded the execution of Jesus and took upon themselves the responsibility for His execution did Pilate give Jesus over to them providing a detachment of troops to keep order during the execution. For it was only after the crowd shouted:

Matthew 27

25And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children."

26Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.

Once they said that pilate knew he was "off the hook" as it where. It was not now going to be a Roman execution but a Roman supervised execution.

Therefore, one cannot lay the blame for Jesus' death at the Jews doorstep. They were doing what God had planned for them to do.

They where doing what God allowed them to do, for what they did was factored into His greater plan. He knew all along that they would seek His life.

In saying that I accept that they had been blinded by God to the reality of Jesus. but they where not good people unjustly blinded, they where blinded justly to fulfill Gods plan.

Matthew 13

10 And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?" 11He answered and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 13Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 14And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:

"Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,

And seeing you will see and not perceive;

15For the hearts of this people have grown dull.

Their ears are hard of hearing,

And their eyes they have closed,

Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,

Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,

So that I should heal them.

Yes it is true that they where blinded but it was for a reason.

Romans 10

30 What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; 31but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. 32Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone.

Romans 11

7What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8Just as it is written:

"God has given them a spirit of stupor,

Eyes that they should not see

And ears that they should not hear,

To this very day."

9And David says:

"Let their table become a snare and a trap,

A stumbling block and a recompense to them.

10Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see,

And bow down their back always."

Romans 11

28Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. 32For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. 33Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

The concept of God giving up people to sin and to deception is not knew. If people reject Him then He will use their evil intent to fulfill His purpose. They may think that they are rebelling and indeed they are but even in their rebellion and their craftiness God catches them and uses them. Just like he used Pharaoh.

The fear of the statement "the Jews killed Jesus" comes from the evil that have been committed over these last two millenium by evil people against Jews people, who used this statement to justify their heinous acts that have been mentioned like the inquisitions, progroms expulsions, grand thefts and mass murders. Many of these acts where committed out of fear of the Jews. This fear is the tool of satan. We should not allow fear to get in the way of truth and lead us into deception.

The statement that we are all responsible for Jesus' crucifixtion is of course only accurate in a certain context, that being a rather spiritual one. In a sense I suppose that could also come back to the "chosen". Would God have had to allow all of that if they had fulfilled God's purpose for them as the chosen? But realistically speaking and in the historical and physical context, there is absolutely no doubt who was most responsible for His death. It's clearly recorded and it is only those who are in a state of denial that even dispute the fact or try to pass the buck. My sins may have been why God in love sent His Son, but I was not one of those who stood before Pilot and yelled "crucify Him".

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
