As a veteran, I want to say God bless all of you, I was state side my whole tour. I served from Oct 75-78, there were only rumors of war praise God.

I would like give a heart felt thank you all the Veterans as well, especially to those who have seen combat.

I served with a bunch of Viet Nam vets who after coming home from the war,  got no parade or welcome home or job or even a thank you. A lot of them were instead spit upon, cursed at, degreaded and look down upon.

A lot of them for lack of any place else to go ended up re-enlisting. My hat is off to you brave men and women, some of the best people I ever met in my life. You helped me to grow up while I was in.

My prayers go out to the brave men and women in Iraq, God be with you and we hope to see you home soon.

God bless

Kevin

Kevin, you're such a sweetie!

My hubby was in country of Nam in 67. He was a crew chief on an assault helicopter, and saw way too much action. His chopper was one of those that went in combat areas to lay down fire so the big ships could go in and pick up troops.

I've always said that the Lord saved him for me, because one night they were attacked in base camp with mortar fire. Hubby went out, ran across enemy fire, saved a guy that had been hit, and brought him back to safety, then got in the only chopper that was flyable (though heavily damaged and not known it would fly) and took to the air to "pacify the situation." Later, in the daylight hours, an unexploded mortar was found at the corner of the barracks (canvas tents), about five feet from where hubby was sleeping when the attack started. Also, the very day my husband was on his way home his chopter went down, with all aboard. :o He has always felt guilt for the man that took his place that day.

Two weeks ago we were in Mobile Alabama, and stopped to see the USS Alabama. There is a Vietnam War Memorial there on the grounds. I noticed my hubby had tears in his eyes as he read the names. Some of his buddies were from Alabama. :P

My dad was a Teletype Operator for the Army during the Viet Nam war. He won't talk much about his time there, so I don't ask much. I called him yesterday, to wish him a happy Veteran's Day and bless his heart , he said "thank you". All I could say was no, dad, thank YOU. Then I had to hang up because I felt the tears coming. He was a 19 year old farm boy, fresh out of high school when he was drafted. He had never left his home state before basic training. He sometimes talks about hearing "Homeward Bound" by Simon and Garfunkle on the plane headed for Viet Nam. I don't know much about what happened there, but when he came home , as he says, "the world had changed". No parades for this private. No purple hearts, or silver stars. And all I could offer him was a "thank you", from a free, and patriotic heart.

Hi Cats,

Air Force Huh? Where I was Stationed I lived off post and went to Ft Petereson Air Base in Colorado to their px and movie house.

I was stationed at Ft Cartoon uh Carson Colorado, 1/20 Field Artillery the self propelled 109A1's. Beautiful post. Iwas Army, which disappointed my dad who comes from a list or war time Marine vets.

We reactivated the 1/20 F.A. which hasnt been activate since WW2 and I think we had some of the actual guns :D -- some couldnt even make it down range at first. - good thing we didnt have to go overseas with them, Angola was the big thing when I was in, we had a few alerts when that was happening, but that was it.

Hey Trav,

Man that story of your husband is awesome, it brought tears to my eyes just reading it. God bless all you Viet Nam vets. Give your husband a hug from you and a salute from me, Awe heck, give him a hug from me too :D.

Pray for my nephew who is over in Iraq.

In Jesus

Kevin

Yup, Cat, Still here (or there). And thanks to you and all of you. It's my pleasure. At least until I find a quieter job when I get home.

One good way to celebrate and show thanks is to visit a VA home.

Never forget them!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
