Gee whiz, the Holy Bible could not be MORE explicit re the sin of homosexuality. Why all the waffling at times? God never made two men to procreate or to shack-up. If one takes Scripture seriously (Genesis 19:5; Leviticus 18:22; Deuteronomy 22:5; Romans 1:24-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9,10; 1 Timothy 1:10; Jude 1:7), homosexuality is not an option open to Christians. The FACT is that in Leviticus, Romans, 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy, homosexuality is mentioned IN THE CONTEXT OF SEXUAL & IMMORAL BEHAVIOR! The context is quite clear in every instance - a variety of behaviors are prohibited: homsexuality, along with adultery, fornication and idolatry, is one them. The Holy Bible repeatedly warns against it & condemns it outright. Let us NEVER interpret Holy Writ in the light of my proclivity. Always interpret my proclivity in the light of Holy Writ. Nuff said. One mo' time I've off to Starbucks for a quad venti latte. Whatever floats one's boat, yes? Oh, and a Merry Christmas to one and all on the 25th and all year long! Joy to the world, the Lord has come!

What I don't understand is that it seems to have such a powerful hold on people that even those who WANT to get out and are trying and praying usually aren't successful. We hear success stories, but rarely. Even in the ministries created for this, we hear of numerous failures. It seems to be the most powerful vice grip Satan can keep people in.

I agree about the sexual abuse.

And I'm not trying to say there is a possibility they are born that way, but what about those that say they knew as very young children? And those who were attracted to the same sex as soon as they would be attracted to the opposite sex normally. It' not like with other sins that are hard to come out of, like drinking or smoking, where they have already done it and have become addicted. It's totally different. Some even marry, trying to deny it, and end up divorced and with a same sex partner, because it's so strong.

An alcoholic will always be an alcoholic, but can abstain from drinking. But sexuality is who you are. It would be wrong to ask someone to abstain from sex for their whole life, with the normal sex drive there. God didn't give alcoholics an alcohol drive.

Am I clear enough with what I am trying to say?

It just seems different than other sins, and I can't figure it out.

The problem is our idea that we all have some sort of calling or right to be sexually active, celibacy is a legitimate and God pleasing lifestyle.

God does not promise us a life of sexual fulfillment. In fact Christ says it is better to not be sexually active. Most of us as Christians are going to be called to live our life chastely at some point, sometimes for many years. Single Christians or those who never find a marriage partner are called to lifetime celibacy.

People with a gay sexual perversion may never be released from this temptation, but indeed are called to live celibately.

Now the reason as to why the turn about rate of homosexuals back to straight is that

1. over 90% of all gay men and women have become gay due to sexual abuse.

It is not a hard thing to figure out as to why some people are gay. If you have been abused by a person of the opposite sex, you do not want to be with the opposite sex. In men, most they were abused by men, and have connected sexual relationships with men to the love that they have been looknig for in their family lives with their fathers. They have exchanged what should be a healthy love for an unhealthy love all based on confusion.

And

2. To many "Christians" beat just anyone over the head and shoulders with the bible, but the pulverize gays with the family bible. thats the big one on the bookshlef, that weighs about 20 lbs, and do not realize that you can preach the gospel to gays with love. In a way that you nor they feel attacked or uncomfortable.

Absolutely great post!

But, :)

Can you please tell me where you found these statistics?

As it has been awhile since I have heard these statistics, I do not have them readily close, but will get them for you.

What I find hard to explain is that some people say "just get over it", "move on" like if I stop today I'm healed and cured from this over night. This like telling a smoker just give it up today, or an over eater don't over eat anymore. These people did not choose to live these life styles just in one day it was a process that occurred over many days weeks and years. So how can expect one to change there behavior over night.

IF you give up your nagging and yelling and start encouraging maybe I can start to find the healing.

Why should I turn back to Christ IF all your going to do to me is nag and yell at me and tell me what a horrible sinner I AM. I know that already. Show me grace and love and than I to can return to Christ.

Some of you know how to pray, so teach me pray. Some of you know how to love, so Love me, Some of you know how to exercise, show me how to get up off my butt and exercise. Some of you know how to eat healthy, show me how I can eat healthy. God says to show his mercy and grace and I have never been shown. I have only heard about it. I see John Doe walking in the hallway Oh its time to pray for him. Thats usually how I get and do prayers because thats how I think we were taught. God said showing other people his love and mercy and grace was not going to easy. Happy are those who are persecuted Matthew 5.

bondage is bondage is true.....

the first step is wanting to change, for instance, you said that a smoker can not stop in one day... well, yes and no, been there done that.... used the patches, almost got killed from them, passed out at the wheel doing about 60 and hit a drive way culvert as i ran off the road, got airbourn.... i managed to quit for 4 years with the patches, but faught the erge continuously until i just (my choice)gave in....

i hated smoking with a passion, was hooked before i ever lit my first one up, and even then i hated it...

i spent hours and hours and hours on my knees at the alter, every time i was at church i was spending time seeking the Lord.... i would even leave them behind, cigs and lighter left on the alter and walk away.... only to pick them back up the next morning..... sheeeesh...... then..... one day, while having a day where i had spent much of it seeking the Lord, i was between jobs, and lit one up, took a drag off of it, and tossed it.... that was a friday, 23 oct, two years after i had rededicated my life for the Lord.... i tossed the pack up on the dash..... lighter went in the glove box..... and have not had the erge since... have not wanted one nor even craved one..... that fall and winter i continued on with the bowling team, and every time i went bowling, i would become physically sick to my stomach.... after that season, i have not rolled a single ball towards the pins.... love bowling, but hated the smoke filled building, so i do not go bowling any more......

it has been three years now since the Lord took this bondage from me, and i have not picked it back up...

one man i know, now Tim is about 24 years old, had been doing crystal meth and making it for a number of years... he was on a three day high, and the Lord spoke to him, told him that if he did not give that junk up and serve Him (the Lord) he was going to loose his mind and die..... this man was higher then a kite being flown from the moon, he hit the floor with his knees, and was instantly sober, he has been totally clean ever since, no booze, no drugs and no cigs.... he is serving the Lord, spends more time in prayer then any two other people put together..... spends more time in the Word then any other two people i know ( yes, even me and my wife combined )......

so,

as far as changing life styles and habits and adictions, it can be done in an instant, or it can take months and years to change.......

another man i know personally, was one of the heaviest dealers in the area, also using and making (meth)..... even killed a person while flying high, cut the person in two when he ran over her with his boat. he was on a tower, with high powered rifles, and had nothing but clear shots at the police when they came up, but, while he was sitting there, scoping the officers, the Lord reached out and grabbed him.....

Rick came off the tower, gave himself up, (took the Lord while up on the tower) has been serving the Lord ever since..... even lead his arresting officer to the Lord...... has been gungho ever since, does street ministry.... one day he was pulled over by DOT for a routine inspection on his dump truck, and people seen him, they later asked him if he got a ticket, his reply was No, but the officer will be in church Sunday......

something to keep in mind also, is a person greatest strengths can also be their major weakness.....

just keep seeking the Lord...... do not allow anything or anybody to get in your way of you getting to the Lord, just like Blind Barnamais,

B.B. : Lord, Son of David, Have Mercy on me.....

Crowd: hush up man, leave the master alone....

B.B. : Lord, Jesus, Son of David, Help Me, Have Mercy on Me......

crowd, hush up man, cant you see Jesus dont have time for you?

B.B. : (throwing off his blankets and standing up) Jesus, do not leave me... Have Mercy on Me....

Jesus: what do you want?

B.B. : My sight...... that is all, just to be able to see...... I want to see you.... i want to see everything you have made..... Oh, Son of David....

Jesus: the sight you ask for is yours.....

Barnamais, would not allow anyone to silence him, he knew what was infront of him and he was not going to let the Lord pass by with out getting what he desired......

you can do the same......

blessings...

Congradulations in your healing. I realize that some individual that yes a healing can occur over night but for the others that it does not happen for I wish that people would encourge them on there journey instead of nagging me to get over it. I'm doing my best and I'm sorry its not good for you but I'm doing everything in my power to get the healing its just taking longer. Deal with it. Help me. I can not do it on my own and the negaitivity I get form people for not healing as fast as others makes me want regress more than come back to someone who is suppose to help me along my journey of recovery.

If someone is Gay, and they don't want to be Gay, then they need to see a therapist, not just pray about it. Praying is very, very, very important, but the Lord helps those who help themselves. For example, if someone had a heart condition, they would not just pray about it, they would also see a doctor.

The problem though is that if someone is Gay, and they don't want to be Gay, and a they see a therapist, the therapist is going to work with them on accepting who they are, not in trying to "cure them" as there is not any "cure" for it. Sexual orientation is not a conscious choice. Whether someone believes people are genetically born gay or not, they certainly don't go out and chose to be gay no more than I chose to like brunettes. It is how a person is wired.

So, I would say the third route here is to attend one of the many churches and many denominations that are not going to demonize a person just because of their sexual orientation. Everyone is a sinner, most Churches that demonize homosexuals have their share of greedy, materialistic, self-righteous people who have no intention to turn away from their sin, infact they rationalize it and feel better about themselves by using gays and lesbians as a whipping post. There are plenty of churches out there that will accept you for you are and not build a wall between you and God because of how they feel about who you are. All you need to do is find one that you like. Jesus loves you everybit as much as he loves the ones who chastize you, and that is all you have to remember.

Ray first of all I want to give you a  Remember that noone loves you more than the one who created you, and you can do all things through Christ who will strengthen you. You have already made a huge step, in recognizing that homosexuality is not God's will. When we hand ourselves to God, we allow him to bless us to the fullest.

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day Of Christ.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

God has knocked on your door and you have let him in, and that in itself is a wonderful reason to rejoice! It means that God has awesome plans for you!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
