Jedi, my young brother, It's plain to see that you are a young christian, who is on fire for the Lord as are we all on this board. But a little bit of advice.

Test the water, swim between the flags, and dont go in over your depth. as the old saying goes, "dont try and tell your grandmother how to suck eggs" I admire your zeal little brother, for we all need to be zealous for knowledge of the word, but tread lightly, listen and learn.

Have a great day in the Lord.......eric. :P

Jedi, my young brother, It's plain to see that you are a young christian, who is on fire for the Lord as are we all on this board.

Can you explain in detail why you keep calling me a young immature christian? How do you make this judgement of me and why? I agree that I am on fire but what does that have to do with being young or old. Should the fire go out when you get older in the Lord or, should it increase?

But a little bit of advice.

Test the water, swim between the flags, and dont go in over your depth. as the old saying goes, "dont try and tell your grandmother how to suck eggs"

I again what have I said that makes you think I am a young unexperianced christian? And what makes you think your so spiritually mature? Is this an age thing? Just because because your physically older does not make you more spiritually mature or more wise in the Lord?

I admire your zeal little brother, for we all need to be zealous for knowledge of the word, but tread lightly, listen and learn.

Thanks for the advise, but again why do you say i am: little, young and unexperianced. You dont even know me?

Where have you gotten that idea that only the young are supposed to be on fire for God. I believe if you dont love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and strength today as you did in beginning then your backsliding. We should be growing in our love and passion (zeal) and faith for the Lord, not decreasing.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. (Rev 3:15-19)

Those who think and act like they are spiritually rich are the ones that think they have reached the plato of spirituality and have no need of nothing. They have seen it all, done it all, and have you can't tell me nothing attitude. They nolonger hunger and thirst for more of God and they can not be taught because they think they already know it all. They have lost the fire and the love and passion for God. But the bible says those that think this way are in reality poor, blind, and naked and most miserable.

God bless and thanks for the advise.

Jedi I always seem to be telling you to simmer down. You ask me why I think you are young, well because when you dropped a bomb about christians being 'wimps', I was the fourth person to reply. I referred to you as 'young brother' then and you never never denied your youth then, so why now. Besides you write like a kid not long out of college and you did mention something about witnessing on the campus. Not only that I'm a great grandfather and anyone under the age of forty is a young or little brother to me. So wind your head in, show a little respect and dont ever think you know it all, because the chances some of the people on this board have forgotten more than you'll ever know. Furthermore I do not think I am more spiritually mature than you or anyone else or that I think the spiritual fire goes out as you grow older instead it burns fiercer. I tried to warn you on your 'wimp' thread that you were in muddy waters, but after you had stirred the pot you shot through and didn't reply to the other posters. We dont take kindly to 'trolls' on here, we like to discuss things in a friendly and brotherly manner.

So stop getting your hair in a tangle and listen (not necessarily to me, I'm still learnig) to some of the veterans on this board and you could learn something.

Blessings your older brother in Christ.....eric

I'm coming in late on this ...but would like to throw in answer to you Blind...

it's a "state of being".

. . .  I'm inclined to go along with the "state of being" . . . .

. . . Is salvation a "state of being"? Must be, either you are saved or you're not . . .

Well, since it seems to be agreed upon to some measurable degree that salvation is a "state of being" . . . what exactly is it a state of being of?

Please bear with me . . . now's your chance CWJ

. . . Let's see if others reply to that question, then I will be glad to expound for you.

Blessings, Carl.....once saved always saved........ :P

Peace,

William

QUOTE

-No one is saying that we should not strive everyday to not commit sin. No one is saying that sinning is OK. It is just getting ridiculous to assert that it is possible to be as spotless as Jesus. Even if you do not commit a sin in the flesh, you will never be like Jesus this side of eternity, because your flesh still exists and it is tainted with sin.

With this kind of a statement you are calling Jesus a liar, be it innocently or interntionaly, olnly you know. He is the one who told us we can do all things He did, and greater things shall ye do.

G'day BS, my worthy brother, this thread seemed to have been side-tracked somewhere along the line and if I am resposible I apologise. I lost track of it myself, but now we are back again and I'm not sure who His son is quoting, without tracing right back to the beginning, However I, like your self am waiting for CWJ to come back with what he thinks our' state of being' refers to. Most interesting.

Regards.....eric.

Well simply it is the state of being which is permanent.

We are new creatures, re-born of God, now children of God. Possessing eternal life. Spritually sinless state of being.

1John 5:13.."These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God."

By believing (with repentance), we get re-birth of the spirit which is eternal.

Present tense...."that you may know that you have eternal life.

1John is full of the guarantee...signed sealed and deliverd....by JESUS

Thank you CWJ, I cant argue with that, except the permanent part. As Yogi Bear said,' it aint over till it's over'

quote.

Well, since it seems to be agreed upon to some measurable degree that salvation is a "state of being" . . . what exactly is it a state of being of?

To me it,s a state of being delivered from the consequences of sin, a state of being justified in God's eyes, of being forgiven, but I have to add it is no guarantee of eternal security IMO. All of those are only the ticket for the journey. You have to get through customs at the other end to make sure you're not carrying anything unworthy of entry.

Some of my thoughts anyway.

regards.........eric

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
