Like Algore harping on this. He's the worst, then he flies around in a private jet. So do others. They also drive gas-guzzling vehicles. How hypocritical.

You're ignoring the point though mate - she's acting in a hypocritical manner. She wants to be in touch with common folk, wants us to rely less on oil, wants us to pump money into the economy...and she wants to use a private jet funded by the PEOPLE, wants to use massive amounts of fuel for herself, wants to take money out of the economy by not flying commercial, etc. It's not like this problem is unique to the democrats, but it's hypocritical of her to act like this "savior of the people" when she wont' even fly with them.

Well I certainly agree with you there. My only point was that she is not doing anything new.

she can't fly commercial. due to her position she is a target..... wouldn't a kidnapper or terrorist just love totake the same flight as her..... think of the consequeces of the speaker of the house of the u.s. being in that position

How is she any more important than a factory worker, lawyer, etc. Trust me, her vacancy can be filled with a vote - it's not that hard. On top of that, if our security is so lax that it's a risk for her to fly commercial when just visiting home, that certainly worries me.

When I was reading this post, I thought what could possibly be said about someone requesting a jet. Now I see that alot can be said...lol Maybe I am just naive but, I dont see why someone who has authority over her just says "dont do that again" and leave it at that. I just think this is so trivial to even be news. But, then again, I have been known to be wrong on occasion....

Gee sacrifices huh? She is requesting a Boeing 757 Business Jet. A flying palace, or the gold standard for all private jets. If she's worried about security, I know of a C-17 that she could fly on and have room for over 150 of her staff. Why doesn't she ask us soldiers what sacrifices we make for our country? Like flying on a C-130 for 36 hours straight. No leather, no cushioned seats, no bedrooms or staterooms or galley, our in flight meals were the MRE's we may or may not have packed before the flight.

Sacrifices, lady your idea of sacrifice is flying on a Gulfstream instead of a Boeing 757 Business Jet. I don't think you have a clue about what normal Americans consider what's a sacrifice and what's an inconvenience.

Yes, she can have a big ol' meeting on the C-130 and then stretch out on the plush cargo net seats when she wants to take a nap.

Them Jimmy Dean meals would make a wonderful in-flight meal, and she could have the safest water around by plopping two steel grey water purification tablets into her canteen and shaking it for 2 minutes.

As for refueling, the C-130 can do in-flight fueling, right? I can't remember, but that would solve that little problem. We can even take out all of the vehicles and ISU-90's so they can have all the room they want.

The story is all over the place, too, not just on the Wash Times. Incidentally, I don't begrudge her a plane! I think it's just her attitude that gets to me. Like so many liberals, she is one way when out of power, but when she gets that coveted power, she turns into somebody else.

I wouldn't either. But why isn't the plane Denny Hastert had good enough? Why is she acting like she''s the president? Why should we taxpayers pay $300,000 for every trip she takes to her district, when it could be much less? Isn't she one of those who is on Algore's league about using less fuel?

She can't wait to live off the taxpayers. This woman is playing the gender card. Her comment "Dennis Hester had a plane like this, why shouldn't I as a woman. Yes she is on Al Gore's side about using less fuel and requesting a plane that cost's over $10,000 per hour to fly. It's a joke and so is she.
