After posting in the Praise section how God must be dessolate without his children just how I have been after my son went to college, I promissed to "visit" my Father more often and spend more time with Him. I started thinking: What else God needs from us? I KNOW he wants us to have faith in Him. Does any know anything else God needs us to do for Him. After all, this is a relationship.

Greetings Tatie,

The ONLY "need" that God asks of us is "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God & His righteousness". We are promised that "He is a reward of those who DILIGENTLY seek Him." We do this through prayer & praise, Bible study and "taking up our cross and following Christ daily". Your life and ALL lives are His to do with as He pleases. There is NOTHING that we or anyone can do but to humbly comply to His wishes/commandments.

But these things you should already know, so I won't go any further.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

So, He asks us to put Him first, to have faith in Him (but without faith it is impossible to please God), and obide by His law? I don't know everything. I just started thinking about it when my son came home from college for vacation and how happy I became compared with the dessolation I felt without him. So I started thinking about God, how much time I spend with him. Oh, yea, didn't He say to pray seaslessly? :o

God desires for us to love Him. He wants fellowship and communion with us. He longs for us to express our love and adoration to Him. He likes it when we just want to be with Him. He loves to meet our needs but He loves it when we come to Him and just want to sit in His lap.

God bless.

Bless you all,

He desires mercy and not sacrifice!

If you knew what this meant you would feed the hungry, clothe the naked, oppress not the widow, etc....

How do you do that?  ;)

Tatie,

In my exprience with sitting on God's lap...as much as it is not a litteral thing, I think it is more of an emotional and spiritual feeling. The closer you get to God through his word, and especially through prayer, looking on Him as a true Abba (Daddy) Father like a child. A father that is invincible, that has grace when you are bad, that NEVER breaks a promise, that is always around when you need Him, and you can tell Him anything without fear. I truely believe that it is a matter of how you look at Him when you pray. If you are praying to Him with the attitude that He is unreachable then that is what He will be, but if you pray to Him as though He were right in the room next to you with His arms around you, you can truely feel His presence.

As a mother, how did it make you feel when your son came over to you as a little boy, climbed up into your lap and nuzzled up to your chest? You instintively put your arms around him. It's the same way with God. Now try and think back to when you were a child and did the same to your father or mother, what feeling did you have climbing up there and stuffing you head into their chest? How did you feel when they wrapped their arms around you and squeezed?

We are very emotional creatures, God made us that way and we need to look upon Him with the same emotions as we do with those we love around us.

Hope this helps.

God looks for a personal relationship with us

Greetings in the name of Christ Jesus: Whjen I happened by this series of posts I could not help myself but to respond to it. We for so long a time have tried to have a relationship that has been built upon our needs as mankind with Our heavenly Father without ever asking ourselves the question of "What does God need from us?'

The fact is that God does have needs that we can fulfill in His heart if we will only allow it to happen. Actually we were created to fill those needs in God's heart to have someone who He could trust and be family to Him that He could walk and talk with , and there by fellowship with just like He had started to do with Adam and Eve, and before that with Lucifer before mankind was ever created.

In creating mankind God desired a relationship of love and caring that would last for all eternity. He created us in His own image so that it would be possible for us to have and to understand that relationship from the start because it would be a love relationship that would involve much of the things that we hold so dear in a relationship with one another.

That includes truth, honesty, faithfulness, and of course love which then would be wrapped up in a total comittment to one another. God then proceeded to show forth His personal comittment to us through what He did to assure us of salvation from the most horrid of mistakes that mankind could make by sinning against Him. When God did provide us with the opportunity for redemption He put forth His greatest comittment for us by taking away the power of sin that had separated us from Him. It was that sin that held us back from having any ability to seek out a relationship personally with God.

When sin had been defeated God then gave us a way back to finding a relationship with Him through building that through the growth of His Spirit and the teachings of His perfected Son. What He asks us to do then is to seek Him with our whole heart , mind and strength. In that seeking of God we will find the relationship with Him that is perfected in truth. It will be both the kind of relationship that we have sought as perfect from one another, and the kind of communion that God has sought from mankind from the beginning. We can learn what it is to really have a complete relationship not only with God , but with one another by patterning the qualities that we find in our relationship with God to that which we can have with one another.

It actually comes down to those things first mentioned in this post; Truth, Honesty, faithfulness, and of course true love for one another. The love of a Father for His children and the unmistakeable love and comittment of a child who is reared by a loving parent given back to a Father who is worthy of it.

May you richly bless God through your life in Him;

The Unworthy Servant :t2:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
