LadyC, I am out of this thread after this post. I do believe the OSAS doctrine was referred to or insinuated as being a doctrine of devils. Why else was that Scripture used after the comment? It was clearly called "false doctrine" in other posts.

Believing differently on the OSAS subject, does not mean that the one who disagrees with you is following false doctrine or false teachings, or doctrines of devils, but unforunately, that's how it is implied time and again.

Then, we keep hearing WHAT we believe, by those who do not even believe OSAS. When we try to tell them, it doesn't matter, or goes ignored, or some other remark comes back. I know what I believe, just as you do, and I do not believe that it's a license to sin, or some of the other things that have been said.

I can agree to disagree, but some people don't seem to be able to do that. It's a shame that this can't be discussed in a civil manner, because it really would be interesting to hear BOTH sides, and the reasons they believe what they do, plain and simple - but it doesn't look like that will happen.

Enjoy the thread, all.

in a private message conversation, you recognized that the scripture was used in response to a specific question and was not used as a personal attack on anyone.

i'm leaving this conversation again too, and to be sure i don't break my word again, i'm leaving the site for a period of time. i'm seeing too much defense of hateful people.

I don't understand why you would take criticism of a doctrine so personally. Criticising doctrine is fine, it's the personal stuff that's not so good. Let's not be so sensitive that we can't take a doctrinal debate or everything will degenerate into this same tit for tat.

I don't know if brash was the right word, but I had to say something.

Okay. Once I respond to this, then I'll let it go and I'm out of this thread but I'm not going to be falsely accused here.

The Scripture I used, 1 Timothy 4:1, was used to show that saved folks WILL depart from the faith, a departure that OSAS constantly denies or claims cannot happen. That passage clearly states it can happen. That's why I posted it.

Now, everything you stated about "us" can apply to your side as well. Anyone who doesn't believe in OSAS doesn't believe in the finished work of Jesus, believes in a works' salvation, are trying to work their way into heaven, etc. We are constant told what we believe by your side as well so it goes both ways.

Thank you.

SisterT - The Scripture was posted after you said this:

"Now, who am I supposed to believe? John Ankerberg or the Spirit of God?

1 Timothy 4:1 KJV

(1) Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; "

Just like that, and it sounded to me, like you were insinuating that the article was one of those 'doctrines of devil' doctrines. That is why I originally asked you a question about that, but upon request by another poster, I removed it.

If I completely misunderstood you, or misread the meaning, then I truly apologize.

I will just agree to disagree and move on.

Hope everyone has a happy and blessed New Year.

The best thing will always be agree to disagree, we have to be respectful to each other at all times, but we are allowed to express what we believe--I'm on idolsmasher and Shilo's side and you're all on the other side, does this make us more or less Holy?

The way we act to each other makes the difference in a Godly attitude.

Love you all :il: in Christ< Angels

Departing from the faith doesn't mean you lose your salvation, it just means you are having a crisis of faith or backsliding.

Jeremiah 3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

i have personally been the target of shiloh's arrogance, and have watched for days while others are targeted even more harshly than i was. we (collectively speaking of his targets) have been accused of giving limp-wristed arguments, of arrogance, of ignoring scripture, of being incapable of intelligent debate, not having a grasp of what is being said (and this has been said to more than one person in more than one context), of posting garbage, of subverting the Word of God, saying "we'll see who makes it to the throne" implying that those who disagree on this issue will not make it to heaven, reading into scripture what we want to hear, and so on.

I am not trying to "target" anyone. What is ignored by some is that I have put up with a lot that I did not respond to. Folks get on here, and tell me that what I believe is a doctrine of devils. That was told to me on another thread. I did not respond. I have been told that I teach that people can sin as much as they want, I did not respond. I have been told that I am enemy of the cross, I did not respond. I have been told that I have been teaching heresy. I have recieved private messages blasting me and telling me that I am sending people to Hell. I did not respond, nor did I violate the concept of "privacy" and expose these people. I have been told over and over again that, what I am teaching is false doctrine made up of man's opinions. Not one time did anyone criticize such things leveled at me. Not one time did anyone in the anti-OSAS crowd get offended that I was being treated in such a manner. It is only when I stick up for myself that there is a problem.

Over and over again, I have been harrassed on and off the board about this stuff. So, you can imagine that over time it has built up to a point that I am not putting up with much more of it. Everything that I did, that LadyC cited above, was in response to what I get all of the time. It is not like I am angry for someone not seeing my point of view. There are plenty of posts on this thread alone that show that I am quite civil when approached in a civil manner. I am getting quite tired of being denegrated. I have been very charitable considering what I have been subjected to. I make a couple of wrong remarks, and you folks come unglued. You of course can call me every name in the book and its OK, but if I don't like being treated that way, I am "unChristian."

It's lovely double standard.

yet when we post scripture after scripture in which God's Word unmistakably warns of the consequences of rejecting our faith and turning to false gods, they go largely ignored... and when questioned about being ignored, we're told that it takes too much time to read the long posts, and too much effort to address them. many of those long posts had no personal commentary at all, just scriptures. it's too time consuming to read scriptures? no wonder this thread has degenerated into such a hateful display of childishness.

Scriptures do not get ignored. Sometimes I have already addressed what is put forth, and say so. I am not going to waste time and bandwidth reposting the same stuff over and over again. Sometimes I can post to a few verses today and then post to a few more verses tomorrow. It takes a little patience to respond to everything that is said. I read the long posts. I did not say that it takes too much time to read them. I said that that it takes too much time to respond to every word. I said that that the longer the post, the less likely it is to be read. The point I was also making is that when four or five people post several verses of scripture at the same time, one person does not have time to get to all of them. Time simply does not permit. I don't see why that is hard to understand. This thread has started to go the wrong direction. I apologize for my part in all of this. I let my humanity take over, and I said some things especially to Sister T, that I should not have said. I would prefer that this thread get back to the discussion at hand as long as we can engage the issue.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
