I am going to be cremated. I take the Klingon view:

Have you been to the Klingon Language Institute?

I will be creamated too. Return to the earth, put something back in.

My mother on the other hand. . . there's a different story! Her funeral director is her good friend and also a huge fan! He plans on having her lay in state for at least a month. He said he will change her clothes every week and make sure her make-up is fresh. That way all the mourners will have the opportunity to visit and revisit her as many times as they like. I am wondering if he plans on a glass case like Snow White. She used to refer to herself as such.

Shalom Bib,

Is your mom someone famous?

It's OK laugh it up, double poster! :21: Yeah, likely he will hire seven dwarfs and probably he will dress up like Prince Charming.

No my mother is no one famous, although she enjoys being treated like a celeb and many people used to tell her she looked like Elizabeth Taylor. At our old church she would sit in the hall and "Hold court" as we, her daughters, liked to call it. She would literally sit there and people would come up to her for their hug and kisses or friendly words.

I'm not gonna be using my body when I go, no need to make myself any more of a financial burden on people!

Some of the extremely expensive gravestones out there, and the entire business, reminds me of ancient eqypt and the pyramids. I'm not gonna be needing any possessions for the place I'm going!

Right on !!

Shalom,

Neither method will affect our rising to be with Jesus. We will have new, glorified bodies, not made of flesh.

So, either way is fine in that regard.

As to the choice, that is up to each Believer and their family and their convictions.

Some choose to be cremated for various valid reasons, some out of necessity, some for their views.

Some choose burial for the same.

When my mom and step-dad were killed in a place crash in Panama, the US Consulate would not allow their bodies to be sent back to the US since the plane crashed into the ocean and the bodies were partially decomposed when they were retrieved. The government gave us no choice in the matter, my mom and step-dad were cremated.

Because we are Jewish, my mom's sister objected to the cremation (as it goes against Jewish tradition), but again, we had no choice, the government refused to do anything but cremate and since they were not on US soil, we could do nothing about it.

However, thank G-d, my mom was a born-again Christian, so we took solace in the fact that the only thing affected was her outward flesh, not her spirit, not her soul and certainly not her eternal, glorified body that will rise to meet Jesus.

Now, when we buried our 3 1/2 year old son, we did it as to our own choices. We did not embalm him, but we did donate his organs that were unaffected. We buried him and yet we know that is not where he resides. His tombstone (a small, flat marker, not a raised stone) says: "Safely in the arms of Jesus." And that is where our son is today, not in the ground.

So, you see these handling of our loved one's bodies has more to do with US than them. If we are Christians, we should choose the easiest method on our families since we will be alive in the spirit with our L-rd.

I find it very touching when people are so open about things in their lives, especialy painful experiences.

I appreciate your openess, Vickilynn, and respect it.

It also says something about this forum, it shows a warm secure place to be open in

God bless you, Vickilynn, and all posters in this forum

May the Spirit be with you :taped:

hupo, that's a Steven Write joke. He also said. . .

I got home the other day, put my key in the door and the building started up, so I took it for a spin around the block.

A policeman pulled me over and said, "Where do you live?" I said, "I live here."

Everything is done in monotone. Very funny!

When my Dad died, he was cremated. Then my brother took his ashes per my Dad's request out over the Atlantic Ocean and scattered them there. Now, I really didn't like the idea, but that is what Dad wanted. I have problems with it because I have no place to go to visit him like I do with my Mom when she died. She is buried near my home. So I can see were she is lying any time.

Now, I know that the body is just the shell for the spirit and that the spirit has already gone where it supposed to go when the body dies. I know with confidence that God is absolutely able to resurrect my Dad's ashes back into a body without any problems. He created the earth and everything in the universe from nothing. :whistling:

The scripture says in Revelation 20:12-13, "I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
