Thy Kingdom comeAgreed, Yod. Mormons are not Christians and their beliefs are cultlike. There ARE a great many good and decent Mormons; I pray that they come to the Truth also. It's sad to think these people are going to be lost otherwise.............. :emot-partyblower:

There are Christians in every denomination. It is not right to judge a persons Christianity by what church they attend. There are mormon Christians and Glenn Beck is one of them.

Oh, but they are NOT Christians, even though they probably call themselves that.

Mormons believe that everyone who lives and dies on this earth goes to a place called the Spirit Prison, except faithful Mormons, who go to Paradise. Mormon Spirit Missionaries go down from Paradise to the Spirit Prison and teach the Gospel of Joseph Smith to the lost Christians and others there. Those who accept Mormonism must remain in prison until a worthy Mormon performs certain essential rituals, called "Ordinances," for them in one of the Mormon Temples. Then they are released from Spirit Prison to join the Mormons in Paradise. Since these rituals or Ordinances require a physical body to be washed, anointed, baptized, etc., they can only be performed by a living person in the place and manner prescribed by Deity, acting under Universal (Mormon) cosmic laws. Source: http://www.rapidnet.com/~jbeard/bdm/Cults/mormon.htm

They also believe that 1. Jesus was physically conceived by God and Mary, 2. Jesus is Lucifer's brother, 3. Jesus had several wives, and 4. He is only one of many saviors and his crucifixtion was not sufficient atonement for our sins. And finally, they believe that no one comes to eternal life without the permission of Joseph Smith, the alleged Mormon prophet who lived in the mid 1800's.

Christian in what repect??? Nearly everything they believe is false, they follow a false prophet and dabble in the occult, they believe that God came from another planet and is merely a glorified man!

I hope I don't get yelled at for this...but it is my feelings...after I had the class on it (especially about God actually sleeping with mary) I was left with the feeling that this religion is nothing more than a sexual religion...it has perverted something that God meant to be beautiful between one husband and one wife...not many wives.... :emot-highfive:

I did not say that mormons were Christians.I said that there are Christians IN the mormon religion.

There is a difference.

I was saved and a Christian when I attended a SDA church.

Salvation is not determined by which church or which religion your belong to or go to.

Salvation is through Christ only.

I know many Christians who profess their belief in Christ and his Lordship. But they attend churches that some of you would call evil.

It's a heart thing and when or if God calls them out of that church has nothing to do with their salvation.

That is a ridiculous notion--that God "slept" with Mary! HE DID NOT! It was not sexual whatsoever. The Holy Spirit did a work of CREATION in Mary's available womb.

What kind of a class taught you that?

I'd probably have to agree that there are Christians in the Mormon church but I question why they would be there since Mormon doctrine is antiChristian. It's true that one's religion doesn't guarantee or deny salvation. My point is only that, if one follows the teachings of Joseph Smith, they are not Christian. :emot-partyblower:

There are several reasons why a person would go to a church that they didnt believe 100% in their doctrine.

Maybe their family members go there and it is the only way to know what they are being taught to minister to them.

Or maybe They believe in 80% of the doctrine and discount the 20%.

I do not believe in 100% of what my church teaches.

Which ever way you look at it a christian mormon is an oxymoron and if Beck is a mormon, he is definetly not a christian." Wherefore, come out from them and be seperate, sayth the Lord". I will not entertain anyone who blasphemes the deity Of Christ. And as for Lahaye and Jenkins I would rather sit up late and watch the wizard of oz. The truth is in the bible.

No offence to the *Left behind* fans.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
