Who do they believe that Jesus is, do you know? It's bound to be strange, if they believe this other stuff.

They do believe in the second coming of Christ, but they are mistranslating the Bible. They are trying to use Greek and Hebrew to study the Bible with two certain words that is supposed to be new meanings to them. I use the Greek and Hebrew to study also, but sure don't come up with this utter apostate Church nonsense. Do you use Strong's Concordance with Hebrew for Old Testament and Greek for New Testament?

I use an online version of Strongs right now. I can see the type better, LOL. Hubby's got a very good Bible with all that included in it, but the type's too small for me until I get glasses, LOL!!!

An online verson works just as well. I have glasses but still have to use a magnifying glass to read the small print. LOL. Do you use Unger's Bible Dictionary to study also?

Okay my 2cents worth on this subject is that weather we reject Christ and what He has done for us and we go to hell, or we believe in Him and what He has done for us and we go to heaven, it is eternal.

I do not believe one can escape hell after they are there...eternal means 'just that' ETERNAL! there are NO 2nd chances to redeem ones self, surely if that were the case then Christ died for nothing...uggghhhh what a horrid thought....

Great subject Calamity....I'm with you! :P

Ok Calamity your first post was good and you had a word there aionios that is correct. But the problem being is the Strongs Concordance does not give you the literal meaning of words, what is gives you is how it is used in our translations. The word Aionios comes from the root word Aion, which in the Greek literally means age, or a generation. Paul and the apostles did not write in our meanings today but what the word meant to them then. Our word Eon comes from the Greek word aion, and even in that the meaning has been stretched a bit, which means a very long length of indefinite time. If you have a good dictionary that gives the origins of words and it will tell you where the word eon came from which was the Greek word aion and if the dictionary is really good it will give you the adjective aionios. Then go and look up the words everlasting, eternal, forever which all came from the latin. By your own admission quench and aionios have some pretty different and even contradictory meanings in our language, go back and read your post and really look at those words.

For instance if you were to say right now that that girl is really cool how would the apostles understand that to mean what you said, they would think you were saying that girl is not warm. Even now from generation to generation words have different meanings, like my son uses the term shake and bake to say how savvy he is on the basketball court, I know shake and bake as something to cook with. I had to ask him how he was using that term. So it is with the scriptures we need to go back to the days of the writers and ask them what they meant by that word. What was the meaning at the time it was written.

Even within our english scriptures is contradictions. To sin is to die. If you are a sinner you will be thrown in a lake of eternal fire, all men are sinners and if anyone says their not they are a liar. So out of all of that we are all going to either die, or be thrown in a lake of eternal torment. So if we just pluck out those words out of the scriptures without truly understanding the whole of scripture then we have a dilema because which is it am I going to die or am I going to be eternally tormented? All men everywhere have a natural death so it can not mean that because we all die, none of us are getting out of this alive.

If you go to the OT and read about the priesthood of Aaron it is going to last forever, except for one problem it didn't , it was passed on to the priesthood of Melchizedek. Christ came through the tribe of Judah and is not of the Levite priesthood and he's our high priest. Go to Jonah and he says he is in Sheol forever, except he wasn't he was there for only 3 days.

Keep searching Calamity you have been brought to this for a reason. As Christ says seek and you shall find.

In Yeshua's love

Teri

I once remember reading a story that gave what I thought was a terrific representation of eternity. It sort of placed it into something I could relate to.

The story goes:

There is a mountain of stone, and every 1000 years a raven flies to the mountain and scratches its beak against the stone of this mountain. and then leaves, not to return again, until another 1000 years have passed. When this mountain of stone has been worn away from this process, one day of eternity will have passed.

I know, a bit corny :P , But it does give an ideal of what eternity represents.

So with the soul of man being created an eternal being, I would much rather spend it with the Lord than in the confines and torment of hell.

" These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; That ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5: 13.

(Put on your blasphmy goggles)

The Mormons believe that Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers and that the reason they don't get along is because Eloheim (God) chose Jesus' plan of humankind salvation over Satan's.

They also believe that there are 3 different levels of heaven and that the worst of us go to the lowest level which is described as an earth that is back to perfect.

The highest level can only be attained by being a 'good' Mormon and getting married in the 'temple' and doing all that mess.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
