Actually, G-d wins. The Scriptures tell us that He can work through us if we are willing. We should be as willing as these 2 men to go where G-d opens the door. We should trust in G-d's power, not our own abilities.

I'm with "Smiles"on this one...

Two brothers in Christ went on National TV and preached the gospel. Hallelujah!!! That is what Kirk and Ray do...they have always been involved in teaching people how to preach the Gospel in ANY situation, without fear. Christianity is FILLED with people who don't know how to put themselves in situations to share the Gospel...Ray and Kirk are constantly showing us how easy it is.

For ALL of the alleged "knowledge" some Christians have about apologetics...they can't seem to do any better than email debates and little known classroom debates (that admittedly get ZERO press coverage). Perhaps the idea that Ray and Kirk are able to (and not afraid to) put themselves in VERY public arena's should be applauded and supported.

I don't care if it was two 5th graders defending Christianity...as long as they were defending the message of Christ...I'd support them.

I hope not, I think everthing has been covered.......except..........On whose authority are we to judge who has, and who has'nt, the qalifications to act as an apologist. The only one who knows God's calling on his life is the one called, all else is assumption...... I am an old man and God has yet to tell me of my calling........well.....maybe tomorrow.

I didn't see the debate but from what I've read here, it sounds like Kirk and Ray were pretty evenly matched intellectually, right? (Who is Ray btw?) I would guess that Kirk and Ray chose their opponent based on the fact that they WERE evenly matched.

I never did find out who won. So who won? It doesn't sound like the Christians were creamed by the athiests anyway.

I'm not sure middle America would have tuned in to watch some intellectuals that most don't know to watch such a debate. And if they did, would they turn the channel because the information was going over their heads? Most of television is geared toward the average mind, not the intellectual mind. I think considering the venue and the fact that the opponents were evenly matched intellectually, Kirk and Ray may have been able to do a good job (again, I didn't see it but I'd really like to know HOW THEY DID

You are exactly right, the ONLY one who has the authority and right to judge who has the qualifications to defend the Gospel is G-d Himself. Not any other person. According to the Scriptures, we ALL should be apologists. AND, we should rely on G-d's power, not our abilities.

edited: to be upfront. it turned out to be Christian vs. Atheist debate.

They could of gotten a panel of ANY OTHER religion and they would of walked away

looking like Kirk and that other cat.

If Kirk and that other cat would of had good debating skills they could have

turned the tables and said "prove to me that there is no God."

"Let me tell you the beautiful thing about religion: a wedding, a funeral, fellowship, named major non-profit organizations, etc...."

The atheist talked about wars and std's.

STD are carried by all and not just religious people.
