people with pet peeves... :24:

Shalom,

Exactly. Not kidding.

Life is too short! :24:

Oh but come on. You gotta have something that gets to you. You do have something. You really do. Else you'd be perfect. Do you WANT me to open a thread on that?

:24:

;)

Shalom Isaiah,

Nope, not perfect at all. I am however a cancer survivor. I was unsure whether I was going to live or die. I was unsure whether I would be here to raise my children, or be buried next to my 3 1/2 year old son. At that time I understood that there is more in this life than little "pet peeves." That experience of almost dying 5 separate times changed how I see things, and people.

Obviously the L-rd did choose to let me live, and I still understand that I should look at things through the eyes of Jesus and in the light of eternity as I did then on my deathbed.

So no, I really don't have any "pet peeves" because there are more important things to spend my energy on. Like being the best wife, mom and daughter of Jesus that I can to bring Him glory. I don't have time to worry if someone doesn't do something the way I think they should, or they do something I think they shouldn't.

If someone uses a word incorrectly, so what? I'm gonna get upset about that? No way!

And since I can't change other people, just myself, if I do find myself getting upset about something stupid like that, I think about Jesus and if that is important to Him. It's not of course, so it shouldn't be important to me.

Hey, if you wanna open a thread about that, go right ahead! :whistling::P

Wal-Mart check outs....It doesn't matter how many they have, there's only 2 or 3 open. Same for Lowe's and Home Depot.

that ain't nothing mike. i've never seen more than one line open at petsmart, no matter how many people are waiting!

:24: Now that's true! In the south, you can say anything about anybody, and as long as you tack on, "Bless their heart," at the end, you're OK. Like this: 'Yeah, FresnoJoe, he's a real so-and-so, bless his heart." See? It negates the negative "so-and-so" comment. :th_praying:

Yikes!

I'm sorry for what you've gone through, but please don't bite at me because I didn't know!

Shalom Isaiah,

Bite at you? What are you talking about? There was not even one hint of a bite (or even a nibble) towards you or anyone in my post.

Perhaps you misread what I said? I was simply opening up myself and sharing my heart. I have no animosity towards you, I don't know how you could have gotten that impression, but I am sad that you do. :24:

Please remember, we cannot see each other's faces and hear each other's tone. Sometimes, written words can be read several ways. Please give the person the benefit of the doubt when you are unsure of their meaning, me in this case. And in this case, you have read my meaning wrong.

This was a deeply emotional and painful post to write and I made myself vulnerable by writing it and my thoughts were not on you or anyone, but in glorifying G-d. Again, I don't know how or why you saw my words as a "bite" against you, but nothing could be further from the truth.

My pet peeves are:

1. People using "Jesus", "Christ" or "God" as swear words (they don't yell out "Bhudda" to curse, why insult Christ?)

2. People using obscenities and other swear words several times in one sentence. Some people seem incapable of saying anything at all without adding 30% swear words.

3. People doing 80km in a 100km zone who won't pull over and let you pass. (I tackled one woman about it and she said "I don't feel safe doing 100km anywhere" - I was speechless.

4. People who say "that aggravates me so much" when they obviously mean "irritates me so much".

5. People who have their headlights on full beam during bright sunlight, during the day (what, are they being "extra safe" or something?)

6. When you are going down a rural road and somebody comes towards you just before a bend in the road, with their headlights on "dip" and they shine right in your eyes and you can't see where you're going.

7. People who write "your" when they mean "you're", or "their" when they mean "there", or "there" or "their" when they mean "they're".

Oh, and of course another "pet peeve" is people who complain all the time, especially about trivial things.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
