"LOVE THE SINNER, HATE THE SIN"

God loves all people....but all people but realize..... God will judge those who fail to repent (even though God may love them deeply).

Our God is a righteous God, demanding righteous behavior. The motivation of the heart should be to "repent" or "turn away" from all sin.

If we love God we will, with the power He gives us only, begin to change our lifestyle. Will we slip up? most certainly. Will God forgive? YES.

What then shall we do? "Press On"....fighting the war against sin. Homosexual behavior is clearing a sin, according to the Word. Once we know it's a sin

we should then make sure we "repent", turn towards God for the power to fight the sin..... and as such, God will give us the victory. One persons sin might

be homosexual behavior, others it might be stealing, or adultery..... sin is sin We all will gain power to overcome sin only as we seek complete

dependence on God. Does God love the sinner? Yes.. but He hates the sin. But as we love Him.... we will strive to repent as never before!! Why? Becasue those who love God

seek to please Him, our Master!

Bravo Sis! Bravo! :emot-hug:

This discussion brings to mind the following verses from John chapter 8 regarding adultery- homosexuality is considered a matter of sexual purity so I would place it in the same category. This account is normally interpreted as a statement about how we should not judge others for their sin, since we all have sin, but I challenge you to check out Jesus' treatment of this woman.

[" 3The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the center of the court,

4they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act.

5"Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?"

6They were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground.

7But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

8Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court.

10Straightening up, Jesus said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?"

11She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "
I do not condemn you, either Go From now on sin no more
." ]

Can you picture this??? A woman dragged from the bedroom, shamefully caught in the act. She is now alone with her shame in the center of a circle of judges, no one to defend her, isolated, knowing that she is set apart and for nothing good, nothing acceptable. What she did was so unacceptable in this society that these practical strangers held the right to murder her as atonement for her sin. But here's this man Jesus...when all the others are in an uproar and a rage- a frenzied attempt to spread news of the woman's shame across the town... Jesus was blowing it all off to scribble in the sand. What he scribbled is not detailed to us, so I would assume that it was not that important. See, Jesus was also isolated, different from everyone else, except he was different because he was exceptional. The only human gifted with the ability to love others regardless of their shame, their character, their appearance. Jesus stood up for the woman, even though he knew of her sin, he preserved her life. And Jesus never stops doing that for any of us.

It is not about homosexual, bisexual, or heterosexual, it is about the human condition. We all sin, we all screw up, most of us repeat our sins over and over, and every time we bring our faults before the Lord we feel that guilt, that remorse, that longing for the willpower to stop the harmful patterns in our lives. The Lord does not just see actions. If that was all he saw he could have easily followed the "if A then B" rules that every society establishes. The Lord searches our heart. If we have an honest and true longing in our hearts to follow the Lord's commandments, and to turn away from sin, and we exhaust every effort toward that effect, there is no way he will condemn us for slipping up which is natural to humanity.

The Lord loves us, he forgives us for every mistake that we bring to him and ask for forgiveness from. What still remains are the earthly consequences of our actions, and the way that satan can manipulate us. When we sin we do hurt ourselves, we get broken hearts, we feel unworthy, and we have nagging guilt which comes from the enemy. It is a snowball effect and its true for all of us.

Anyway- I hope this helped (long winded as I am)

- Hugs- :) Sarah

Some of you people speak as if you know how a homosexual works. You think they don't know how to read and comprehend what the scriptures think about them. Don't you think they ever pour themselves every night hoping God would change them? How can you ever phantom the thinking of another? How can you ever grasp any idea what emotions a person exhibits other than your own?

Does God love homo's? God has no emotion. He sees only the action. Therefore, they really shouldn't be putting things in the wrong place.

This is TRUTH...Many don't accept that the WOG ...is just that ...The Word Of God... And He will not step back from His WORD...for anybody... He put His Word above His Name... So satan could never make Him a liar... :emot-pray:

God loves all of creation. His love was expressed in his coming to earth personally so that people can re-establish their relationships with God.

For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 HCSB

God's love does not include condoning lifestyle choices that fall short of what He knows is best for us.

Erich,

You seem to contradict yourself. You claim that,

i) God loves
all
creation

but then add,

ii) 'God's love does not include condoning lifestyle choices...' for which He doesn't approve.

Well, which is it. God loves all, but He doesn't love all. I think you have a dilemma. You are telling me that God's love is not universal.

Help me understand how loving someone and condoning everything they do is the same thing. You seem to have equated the 2. I can love someone, but not agree with every action they take.

Yes, I typed this earlier but decided to post it as a topic so that I could get a legitimate response.

If God smote Sodom and Gomorrah (plz don't kill me on spelling, I do not have my bible on hand) for the homosexual acts committed there, does he love the gays? Or were they just so far gone that God knew that they would only pervert the world? What?

Hey. First off there is no real evidence that God destroyed Sodom and Gamora for the only reason being homosexuality. There is evidence that that was going on there, but God's reasoning states that it was perverse and immoral. A bin of evil. It doesn't say "because of all the gay sex."

The truth of the matter is, all sexual sin is bad sin. Homosexuality isn't any different than an addiction to porn, or anything else. And I'm not talking about the temptation, I'm talking about the act. Temptation is clearly not wrong, or else Jesus was a sinner. (He was tempted in the desert.) Homosexual temptation isn't wrong, it's not sin to have that desire. It's sin to go out and act on that desire, to bend all your thought on that desire.

So by calling the homosexual lifestyle what it is, sin - we can easily KNOW that God loves homosexuals. Just as much as he loves sinful ole me, and sinful ole you.

Bottom line-

God made us. God made us human. God made us humans loveable. There is NOTHING we can do to destroy that perfect loveable part of ourselves that God himself made. We cover that loveable part with sin, and hurt, and bitterness and anger, but God when he looks at us looks past all that, and at the loveable human being he made. Hitler was loveable, God loves hitler, he loves homosexuals, and he loves you.

firstly i want to say that even Gods voice (unless he isnt happy) is, well the best way to describe it is if love could talk. love in the purest form available. thats how his voice sounds. he has emotions because we are made in his image and likeness and we have emotions. but our feelings are not to rule us.

you're correct about the fact i dont know how a homosexual works. but i know how God works. He dosent change us from our sin just poof your not like that anymore. you change your behavior. to repent literaly means "right now, drop it (whatever it is) and turn 180 degrees around and flee from it. leave it there and do not return to it ever. this is not only outwardly but an attitude of the heart also. God has said this is wrong to him. and to not change is to reject God. obedience is so important to him. so precious to him.

what i discern by you saying god has no emotion is there is indeed a crying out to him. in several places in OT it says God has put a cloud around them(talking about people who are not obeying him)so that he wont hear their prayers. if someone dosent do it his way then its weeping and nashing of teeth for all eternity for that soul.

when you change your behavior and your thoughts and adventually it is obvious in your daily life.

Yes, you can love someone and not agree with their life style, but would you subject your loved one to unrelenting torture in Hell?

Good question! Lets take it another step, shall we?

Lets say you have an adult child that you love completely. Yet, that child is living a lifestyle you do not like and is a very dangerous lifestyle that places them in danger of dying. You warn them of the dangers, tell them they can come home and you will help them work it out. Their reply is "No thanks, I can do it myself without your help." You soon get a phone call that your child has overdose on drugs and has died. Was it your fault that your child ignored your pleas to them? Did you cause that child to die?

I think you are seeing this in the wrong light.

God Bless,

OneLight

Yes, God loves them all completely. He loved them so much that He came to earth and took the punishment that all of us deserve. When Jesus was beaten and crucified, the consequences for every lie that has ever been told, every person that has ever abused a child, every murder that has ever been committed, etc. was placed on Him. In other words, Jesus willingly accepted the justice due to all of us because of the things the Bible calls sin (including gossip, gluttony, selfishness etc). That is why Jesus cried out from the cross,

My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?

Matthew 27:46C HCSB

So God's love was demonstrated by the fact that He was willing to pay the price for us. The offended party was willing to pay the price for the offenders.

But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us!

Romans 5:8 HCSB

God offers this gift to everyone who will receive it. This is how He demonstrated his love to the world

For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 HCSB

People will not end up separated from God for eternity because they are homosexuals. They will end up separated from God because they have rejected God's offer of a restored relationship.

where is it written the God's love is "UNIVERSAL"?...If it is not in the King James... God had no part in it... what is your understanding of "universal" ? ...Does that mean loving any and everything... forever Ame...or what?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
