Marnie: 85% of all child molesters view the junk. It will permenately change the way a young man views a woman (outside of Christ's redemptive work). She's reduced in his eyes and that reduction is taken into a marrage. You've got to admit that the erosion of the nuclear family is the primary factor in our growing crime rate.

Yep, I can't disagree with that. It's on the parent's head to raise that young man right so he'll walk past the dirty magazine rack and install filters on the home computer. Freedom of speech and censorship cuts both ways. We take theirs away, they take ours away; it's the curse of living in a pluralistic society. If parents and the local Church did their jobs and stopped abdicating their child-raising responsibilities, many of our "societal ills" would vanish. But far too many parents are pursuing the "American dream" at the expense of their children, preferring to pawn them off on tired grandparents, hey, what else do they have to do, right, and it's free!, or daycare where the kids are exposed to who-knows-what. That irks me...if you can't afford to raise them, don't have them.

Preaching to the choir here.

My number 1 issue is the Gospel.

As a conservative, many of the other issues in the poll are important to me as well.

Apparently, I can't start a thread here, so I will share here that which concerns the gospel:

Christian code of conduct on religious conversion - Apostasy

I GUESS THE "DEVIL" IS IN THE DETAILS...

APOSTATE World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), APOSTATE World Council of Churches (WCC), and the APOSTATE Vatican join to form a "code of conduct."

15.08.07 11:27

Christian code of conduct on religious conversion wins broader backing

The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) is ready to join the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Vatican in supporting a code of conduct to guide activities seeking converts to Christianity.

The WEA general secretary Rev. Dr Geoff Tunnicliffe

i would say it like this

1 unemployment

2 the persecuted christians in other parts of the world

3 defence as most say i say the same for australia our goverment hear should not get involved or stick ther heads in other countrys problems thinking thay are doing good

4 homless people

as i my self was living on the streets in kings cross my home was a run down old building and there are many in my country that have not got a roof over ther head many are depending on charitys to look after them and our goverment hear in australia can do more and a lot of the blame goes on center link hear in australia as to get support from center link you need to be looking for work and have a registerd adress yet many that i know are suffering and some can not even work so many just depend on the good wil of other churches which i support those churches that are doing there best to feed these people i my self use to go with out food for 2 weeks to 1 week and i would only shower when i got the chance

ther are many single mother and young people living in conditiions that no australian would find them selves in and my heart goes out to thes brother and sisters who are doing it hard

4 abortion

5 alcahol and drugs

the reason i am saying this many are willing to pick on smokers and have banned smoking in many parts of our hospitality industry drugs are comming in and the new problem in my country is ice wear its just gotten worse violence has gone up to wear people are doing what ever they can to support the habbit yet i have not seen it hear or in any other country wear the goverment has looked at what alcahol does to a family and with in the community hear we are praying that this goverment wil have the guts to stand up and close down retail out lets and pubs and clubs yet not many wil do this or speak up they see over weight people that need help and are doing what they can to get these people on a diet and lose weight many times i have been out at night on out reach wear i have seen people go out of control hear in my own community i have been in the midle of two big brawls and it was not nice to see and it was all alachol related and we have said this wil not happen if strict control over the night clubs and pubs wear placed to wear bans wear placed and a limited time given to wear 24 hour licences wear taken off them or they wear shut down for good

yet people are too scared to touch on this subject or hold the goverment to acount and say enough is enough

these are my views and what is most important on my heart at this time

Interesting poll. I could not vote for Homosexuality, because that would be discrimination. I may not agree with homosexuality, but I don't agree with premarital sex either. If you wanted to make premarital sex an issue as well as homosexuality, then perhaps I would consider it. But you'd have to add pornography to that list also. As well as adultery. Any form of sexual immorality, of which homosexuality is only one matter.

Nor could I vote for Abortion. You only need to read a history book to know that making abortion illegal will just result in illegal back-yard doctors performing it anyway, which is a major risk to the mother as well as the child. While I will counsel everyone not to go to an abortion clinic, we CANNOT make it illegal, or else things will just be worse.

"Moral Issues" is just too ambiguous to answer. What does this mean? What is moralistic for you or for me is different. Even with the Bible as a guide, there are differences in our individual interpretations. Having our moral code dictated to us by any government just cannot be.

Gun Rights is not an issue in Australia - well, not really. We don't have the same laws as America in this respect, and it's never been high on anyone's agenda.

For the rest, I think many of them are important. But if I had to choose one (well, I did have to choose one), I would choose the Environment/Conservation. In a world that is plundering its natural resources at an unsustainable rate, we need to do something. For a world that is destroying species by the thousands all in the name of progress, something needs to be done. Otherwise, when we leave our legacy for our children and our children's children, there may be no legacy to give them at all.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
