Forgive me, but I just can't believe anybody really follows this any more. I don't wish anybody ill, but, really, who cares about Camilla and the Royals?

Me! Not about Camilla but the British Royals have fascinated me since I was a child. Maybe because we don't have any Royals of our own??? :th_praying:

I feel much the same way you do, but it is impossible not to follow this story, seeing it is all in the news. I was listening to the Fox News Channel last week, and they were discussing it. In addition, I don't understand why a memorial 10 years after the fact? Wasn't one funeral enough? It is almost like Diana is loved and made into some larger than life person because she is looked at as a victim, but when you look back on her life, all I remember is one scandlous affair after another. Yes, Charles may have been the first to commit adultery, but Diana was involved in numerous affairs of her own. I think it was the combination of her being made to look like a victim, and her involvement with liberal causes that generated the media hype. I never liked her, and think all this "People's princess" nonsence was created by the press. Queen Elizabeth acts like royalty, and carries herself in a very dignified way. When it comes to the rest of the royal family, it is like watching England's version of the Clintons.

:emot-hug::emot-hug:

In case our American cousins didn't know.....Royalty is 'big business' in this country.

We hardly go a couple of days without at least one of the Royals being in the news.

Imagine a day on American TV without President Bush being featured. :emot-hug:

I have never been a big fan of Royalty myself. Never could figure out why they live in palaces and own such vast amounts of wealth, when they have never even been voted in by the people. Apparently, though, the Queen brings in large amounts of revenue to this country by her state visits overseas (probably true). :emot-hug:

Regarding Diana.....she was, in her lifetime......ALWAYS on the news. She was so much 'in our face' all the time. She was also a very good looking woman, and very photogenic. When she died, so unexpectedly, I think that most people in this country were touched by the tragedy, even if they didn't much like the Royals and their elitism.

My own good friend, who is as hard as nails, cried at her funeral on TV. This was true for a lot of people in this country.

However, I agree with other posters, that 'why should we hold a memorial service, 10 years after her death?'

I don't know.....

Maybe, for the most part, it has a lot to do with Princes William and Harry, to honour their mother.

Fact is, Royalty, and especially Diana, still feature largely in our lives, thanks to the TV :th_praying:

But my original posting was to show that Camilla (Cammyknickers.....as LadyP calls her :emot-hug: )...has decided to pull out of the memorial. And I say 'good'.

I don't know of anybody who actually likes Camilla, and I know a lot of people. I think that she is being pushed upon us by Prince Charles and the media, when nobody wants to accept her as a possible future monarch. :emot-hug:

I admit that this has probably got a lot to do with the fact that Diana was beautiful, and well liked, whereas Camilla is seen as something as an 'imposter'. Still, I would never be willing to refer to Camilla as 'Your Royal Highness'.... :emot-hug:

The last truly worthy and viable monarchs are about to die out with Queen Elizabeth II, in my opinion. :emot-hug:

Well, did you notice where the OP is from?

(Hint: His name used to be StephenUK, wasn't it?)

Because in our Western society, 10 year anniversaries are big deals.

As for why the British love her so much - you'll have to ask them. But from what I heard about her, she was a kind and gracious woman.

Anyway, do you have any room in your heart to pray for this family - or only to throw stones?

Even a dictator Ted would be preferable to these 'wishy-washy' monarchs we have to bow and scrape to these days.

At least you know where you stand with Ted............He's got big guns......you feel safe behind him! :21:

Seems Camilla Parker Bowles has finally recognized the fact that most people here in Britain don't want anything to do with her.

Myself, I have never had much time for the woman. I would hate to see her as Queen of this country. (Perish the thought)

Come to think of it, I would hate to see Charles as King.

Don't know why, but I think the younger generation (following Queen Elizabeth II), don't represent much of a respectable monarchy.

Link to BBC here:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6964763.stm

Don't mind if I don't get many supporting replies to this. I have never had much time for either Charles or Camilla. I think that Queen Elizabeth (though I am not a monarchist) represented the last true, honourable, rightful person on the throne of England.

It's all downhill from now on :24:

I agree with everything you said Sweetycakes!! :o

And Camilla should have put out this statement right at the beginning instead of playing along!

Neither Charles nor Cammyknickers should EVER be used to represent the people of Britain .....He is NOT fit to "rule" and I think that is the reason that his mother has not retired in his favour ....I do not think the people would accept his former mistress as queen ..she had the chance to marry him many years ago and turned him down then went on to commit adultery ruining both her own and his marriage. William and Harry are in a very difficult postition as if they reject her it would split the country and cause even more trouble and they have had more than enough of that in their lives .

She should stop playing games and charlie should abdicate in favour of William NOW not keep playing the silly games he does

That's it! I'm voting for Ted!

Providing of course that he changes the name of UK to SANZOZ.

Quite honestly though, do you think it might be time for UK to be a republic and have a president? I don't have any personal feelings about this either way because I am not specifically a royalist or a republican. I honestly don't think it's terribly important.

However, I just don't get the importance some of you place on the UK royals - I'm not a royal watcher, but then I think its a waste of time reading about the private lives of anybody in the news (I mean, I didn't even know who Paris Hilton is).

Camilla seems OK to me, I mean she's never done anything really bad and must have generated a lot of money for tabloid newspapers. She deserves recognition for that alone.

However, you're right about Charles. He is an embarassment to UK, he comes across as a total lunatic.

Of course Prince William could always stand for president, Harry too. But I reckon that Ted would do as good a job as any.

So start campaigning Ted, your running mate could be Sweetycakes (vice president).

Any other nominations?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
