I did see the movie. Although no movie could portray what Christ actually went through, there were still thoughts that went through my mind that I never really thought about before. For instance: How can people continue to think and say that

they have doubts about Christ being God? The pain and suffering that He went through from the garden to the hill, in itself would have been impossible for any human being to endure, even with the little help that Christ received in carrying the cross. A mere mortal would have died before reaching the hill. I did not see the other two men that were crucified with Him, endure the brutallity that Christ went through.

I will tell you all that actually seeing a representation of what Christ suffered for us really brought me home. Its one thing to read about what Christ endured for us but it was totally something different whe I saw His flesh being ripped and the crowds that scorned Him. It made me realize that it was not just a sacrafice but a SACRIFICE. I am more amazed today than I was at the magnitude of what Jesus suffered for me. And am more grateful too. Thank you Lord Jesus just don't cut it anymore. Now its Praise You Jesus and Thank You from my very soul for loving me, a sinner so much you were willing to take my place.

You know if man can be so punishing how will the lake of fire be? scary thought.

I just saw the movie Saturday night. I feel the same as the last poster. It truly made me RE-think the sacrifice that he gave...and this was a movie.....imagine the real event?!!!! I can honestly say that it was one of the most memorable things I have ever seen in my life. THis is truly not only the biggest evangelistic tool of our time, but it reminds christians of several things.....

Satan really does come to situations just like that....more often times than not....he is "slinking" around carrying his emmisaries and it all looks innocent enough...even harmless....like a loving mother carrying her child....until you see it (sin) and him (satan) for what it really is. Ugly, evil and a distorted and twisted image of what Christ really is. That is his biggest tool....he is the father of twisting scripture and trying to immitate the Father. It was also a huge reminder that we do not battle against flesh and blood: Just as I would begin to get really mad at the pharisees or the men whipping him.....satan would appear in some form....or his demons or what symbolized him. It's this way in daily life.... I think most christians forget this on a daily basis.....everything is watered down these days.

It was so beautiful to see the relationship between Mary and her son in a human way. Soooooo many mothers are being and will be impacted for that alone. It had such a personal feeling. Does that make sense? And how appropriate?~Christ is all about personal relationships!!! It seems to me that God really had his hand in this supernaturally because even the intentional symbolism goes very deep. Awesome, incredible, heartbreaking, painfully acurate, truthful, graphic, and gripping all at the same time!! Praise the Lord that Mel Gibson, who has the finacial resources and clout was given a strong conviction to take this on and make one of the most useful tools to evangelize to the unsaved and the most memorable reminder to christians that I have ever, ever seen!!!!!! @ His feet~ Lorie

Jesus looking at the people who were murdering him saying "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do".

If I ever have a problem forgiving, I pray the Holy spirit prompts me to remember this.

When I survey the wondrous cross

On which the Prince of Glory died

My richest gain I count but loss

And pour contempt on all my pride

See from His head His hands His feet

Sorrow and love flow mingled down

Did e'er such love and sorrow meet

Or thorns compose so rich a crown

Oh the wonderful cross

Oh the wonderful cross

Bids me come and die and find

That I may truly live

Oh the wonderful cross

Oh the wonderful cross

All who gather here

By grace draw near

And bless your name

Were the whole realm of nature mine

That were and off'ring far too small

Love so amazing so divine

Demands my soul my life my all

Oh the wonderful cross

Oh the wonderful cross

Bids me come and die and find

That I may truly live

Oh the wonderful cross

Oh the wonderful cross

All who gather here

By grace draw near

And bless your name

I am now continually reminded of this passage of Scripture, every time I think of what He went through, and what I have yet to go through in contending for the faith/for belief in Jesus, because I love Him.

Hebrews 12:3-4

3 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

4 You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin

I will think of this in comparison to what He did for me, and hopefully, I will not shrink back in the face of man's hostility toward the Gospel.

In His Love,

Suzanne

It's when I think of this that I weep, Suzanne. I marvel at His courage and bravery. I feel so small in comparison.

I cannot even fathom the incredible courage it must have taken to go willingly to that cross.

The cross of Calvary leaves me weak in the knees and humbled beyond words...there is simply no way I could have that kind of courage. I fall miserably short of it.

I would only find strength by the grace and annointing of God Himself. In my weak flesh, I fall miserably short.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
