As a matter of fact, adults are better behaved than children...

Ok first off, I have to completely disagree. Yes, there are mean kids, but for the most part, kids are much nicer to each other than adults are to each other. Our son is in first grade this year. Our son nor any of his friends exhibit any of the hatefulness, bigotry, callousness, racism, self-righteousness, or judgmentalness that we adults commonly exhibit. They don't learn those traits from each other, they learn from us.

:emot-dance: Exactly what I thought when I read that comment.

Umm... excuse me, folly is bound up in the heart of the child? We are to train them up in the way they should go? Sound familiar? I hope it does anyways. :24:

Oh and if adults are meaner to each other than kids are, then why didnt any of my husband's coworkers make fun of the fact that he cant walk? Why did only the kids do that? And why is it that the neighborhood kids make fun of me being deaf, but the adults do not?

........ PUBLIC SCHOOL SOCIALIZATION

"When I mention we are homeschooling our

children, we are without fail asked, '...But what

about socialization?'

Fortunately, we found a way our kids can receive the

SAME socialization that government schools provide:-)

"On Mondays and Wednesdays, I will personally corner

each child in the bathroom, give them each a wedgie

and take their lunch money. On Tuesdays and

Thursdays,I will make sure to tease our children for

not being in the 'in' crowd, taking special care to

poke fun at any physical abnormalities.

... Fridays will be 'Fad and Peer Pressure Day.' we

will all compete to see who has the coolest toys, the

most expensive clothes, and the loudest, fastest, and

most dangerous car.

"Every day, I will adhere to a routine of cursing,

being disrespectful, swearing in the hall, and

mentioning our weekend exploits with alcohol and

immorality.

And we have asked (our kids) to report us to the

authorities in the event we mention faith, religion,

or try to bring up any morals and values."

Oh, and I have yet had a grown up came up to me, ask me to say a word, and then burst out in hysterics because my speech was so bad. Yeah, that actually only happened in public school. Hey, I was being 'socialized'. :emot-dance:

My dad's opinion is that homeschool is better, because there are alot of bad habbits floating around the public schools. Not only that, they're taking God out of the Public school curiculums and people in homeschool have the teachers whole attention, while public schoolers only get a few minutes to understand something in school. Reply with your own opinions, please.

I do not recall the actual stats, and do not have them readily availible....... however,

TRUE Homeschoolers (on the average) score higher on the exams then Private schoolers

Private schoolers score higher on teh exams then public schoolers....

( the reason i say TRUE home schoolers is there are some that get bend out of shape because of something that happened in the public school system, and they keep their kids out of the school system for unjust reasons, and the children actually suffer because of it.... or the parents are trying to hide benieth the radar of public officials for some reason or other, and again the kids suffer for it....

for the most part, the ones that home school, are doing it because they want the best for their children, and those children are usually more well rounded and have better lives then the ones in public school system.... for P.E. they use the YMCA or get together with a home school coop, and have soccor, football, and such things as this..... here in this area, there is a program that is called Catillion and it teaches kids how to dance, and also proper social ediquit (sp).... there are other programs that are availible also to get the children more social skills..... Bible Quiz tourniments, Fine arts, local little theatre groups ( like the Stain Glass Theatre, in Joplin and Springfield Mo.) there are community bands and orchestras, they can also play in church ( my youngest son, Christian, learned more about Guitar in church then he did in school (base and accustic))...

people that say that home schoolers (in general) do not do good, is because they do not know...

there are programs with differant groups..... Alpha - Omega is one place to get home school material, and through them you can get a high school diploma......

Kansas, requires the parent to register as a private school.... I am still registered with Kansas, even though it has been 6 years since i have done anything..... ( Baxter Springs Christian Accademy ).... I never pulled it, and every once in a while, i get a letter from the state.....

each state has certain requirements, and those requirements need really be met, that is until they actually go against the Word of God......

hopefully that helpped...

It does. I never said kids were WISE. I agreed that they can be much nicer than adults. Why do these threads have to get nasty? :emot-dance:

I frankly cannot understand why a Christian would send their children to a catholic school. Public school is bad enough with it's religion of secularism, humanism, evolution, promiscuity, language and the like. But catholic school is not an alternative, for you are then sending them to be taught by false religious teachers.

Homeschooling or private Christian school are the only options, especially when children are young. We are told to train them, guard them, and protect them; not allow them to be influenced by the world and it's sin and lusts.

AMEN!!!!! :24::emot-dance:

:24:

I'm not understanding all this, either.

Well ya know, she said it well. That is what I am saying amen to. Are you thinking I am saying amen to the tragedy in public schools? No, I am saying amen in agrement. I agree with ~smiles~. She said it well. I give a hearty 'AMEN' to all of her posts she has made.

No, you said "AMEN" to yet another attack on Catholicism, and it's a pattern I'm seeing here on Worthy that is really starting to BUG me.

:24::24::24::24::24::24:

She was speaking of wether or not CHRISTIANS should put their kids in Catholic school. We have a poster here, Forrest who says he is not catholic but thinks it's a great idea to put our kids in catholic school. So you agree with Forrest? :emot-dance: Read the previous posts to that post and you'll understand.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
