The point being, as Ted touched upon, is it is sin. And sin infects all parts of society. Homosexuality is a vile abomination in God's sight. If you are not for God, then you are against God. No matter how PC this world becomes, God's word will still stand and not change. You are either fighting for God, or, by default, fighting for the devil. There is no middle ground. All lukewarm Christians who are indifferent to God's holy law will be spewed from his mouth. You cannot please man and God. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

Choose this day whom you will serve.

Sin is sin, but its been my experience that people tend to worry about the sins that personally bother them much more than the sins that seem to have the worst effects on society. For example, some people tend to worry about homosexuality (mentioned a handful of times in scripture), much more than they worry about greed, materialism, and indifference (one of the most common subjects in scripture) even though it far more strongly infects our society.

Sin is sin, and people seem to be talking about the sin of homosexuality here in this thread because it's the main topic of the thread.

If you stayed in the Prophesy threads for months on end, you would come to the same conclusion regarding prophesy.

Anyway, it is a hot issue now due to the changing laws in the country. Of course it's a hot issue! We now have a struggle to challenge yet another shift in society which further places Christians in jeopardy of violating newer laws concerning "hate".

So, it certainly looks like homosexuality has become something which people worry about these days, but it's mostly due to growing pains and getting used to the abomination of homsexuality being thrust into the forefront of society. Fifty years ago, there was little concern over the possibility of homosexual second grade teachers in our public schools. Today, it is a valid concern.

Greed, materialism, and indifference are subjects which everyone already have been subjected to in society. Open homosexuality is something which is relatively new to the scene in American culture, compared to the other sins you listed, on such a scale.

What do you concern yourself with more at your house, the weeds in the lawn which have been there forever or the skunk which has been in your garage for the past few hours or so?

my apologies thoughtful, for confusing you with burning ember. i just woke up. but i had just read a post by you (i guess in another thread) which struck me as yet another thing in which you defend sinfulness that oppose speaking God's truth, so i guess when i read BE's post, i still had you on my mind.

but to correct myself, BE, you should look up the definition of racism. homosexuals are not a race.

what kind of issue could possibly be more pressing than that of another human being facing eternity in hell?

lets focus on things we can fix.

We can fix nothing. All we can do is be a light onto this generation so that their sin is brought out of the darkness and into the light so it can be recognized. To do this, we need to live the life God has put in front of us. Be an example. Show them the love of God that we have in us. Love them and accept them for who they are, as Jesus did with every one of us when we came to Him. Allow the Spirit to show you how to handle the situation as you enter it. This is done on a one-to-one basis. Find a sinner and help them. God does the condemning, not us. I agree that not everyone who says "Lord, Lord" is a Christian. Even more reason to reach them through Love. They are seeking God, even if what they are following is a god that they have made. Yet, they are searching. We need to allow the Spirit to show us how to work with them so they can see the real Truth.

Step down from your soapboxes and get rid of the megaphones. Speak easily and in love to the one you are sent to help.

In Christs Love,

thoughtful, what makes you think i (or others here) don't share Jesus or try to lead abusers, drug addicts, theifs, sexually promiscuous teens, etc?

see this is what happens everytime the discussion of homosexuality gets brought up. people start throwing about accusations and assumptions that those who take a stand against THIS sin don't take an equal stand against other sins. this is simply not true, and all you have to do is search the subject titles in this forum, and read the threads regarding drunk drivers, adulterers, people who shack up, people who peddle dope, abortion, etc., to see that the same people who speak out against homosexuality are the same ones speaking up against other sins that separate us from God.

That's a very depressing though, OneLight, and i completely disagree. If we can fix nothing, there is no hope. Only hope of one day going to heaven, which is the most selfish thought i've heard yet. We have to be pro-active.

Can't you see that only God can fix things? Being pro-active is exactly what I wrote above. One on one is the most pro-active you can be. Why is that so depressing? Are you looking to yourself to fix things or looking to Jesus to fix it through you?

pro-active means we share the light of truth with others rather than hiding our light under a bushel. :emot-hug:

Breathe LadyC. I never said you didnt, or others didnt. I am, and always have been, talking about Christianity as a whole, as a group. I know how the American eye sees us. Its great that people are so opinionated, its diverse, but i will venture to say that some on this website who are so opinionated on all topics you named, are ONLY opinionated on this website. Maybe they'll talk about it with their families, vote republican and sit and wait. But what im saying is the Christain demonstrators, the lobbyists, the Christian political figures and Christian business head figures, the loudest ones of our group, they're focusing way to much time on homosexuality. Like i said, the Ted Haggard thing happened, and Dobson said "Well lets get him un-gay" (COMPLETELY paraphrasing of course, but we heard nothing about how his wife was doing, save for a letter at New Life the next week. And why? We dont care.)

I think its admirable to speak so openly on these forums, and not everyone has the time or resources to reach out to the community. But the problem with forums like these is there are too many people who think alike here. So this becomes a breeding ground for "what we dont like about the world." And we need a place to vent, i just think it should be put into context. Where's the Battered Women's forum? Where's the Molested Childrens forum? I dont see these things here. People may be just as opinionated about other issues, but i dont see the fruits of that in the political arena. What i do see is "Ban Gay Marriage" "No Gay Rights" "No Abortion" "No Democrats"

Check out the US, World, and Strange News threads, I think you'll see that there are a host of topics which get generated there.

Maybe that is where you find these other kinds of discussions. :emot-hug:

As far as homosexuality is concerned, i think there are other things we need to focus on. Like abusive husbands, drug abuse, drunk driving. 12 year olds who play sex games at jr high school. Teen pregnancy. These are the things that i think we need to address more than homosexuality. These things can be fixed from the inside out. And Christian or not, all these things happen to humans.

I do not understand why you think these things are not getting focused on, thoughtful. :emot-hug:

But we continue to engage in this battle because we are citizens of a government that is dictated around its citizens being involved in political issues. I don't' think becoming a Christian means we abdicate this responsibility.

Why? Other than it not being what your used to right now I am not sure what your basing that on.

What are they going to struggle with?

What happens when some little kid realizes they have a crush on a girl at school, but then realizes daddy likes men and can't talk to him about it? What about when all their friends are getting dropped off by their moms at school and talking about stuff they've done with their moms (or dads) and they realize they don't have one. It's every bit as damaging as kids growing up with single parents. It confuses them when they get old enough to start taking an interest in the other sex, it hurts them when they realize that their friends have two parents helping with different things and they only have one. It hurts them when they need advice that is usually the place of either the mom or dad to give and they don't have one to go to.

What are you basing this on? I did a search, there is nothing published in any medical journals to base this on. It doesn't even pass the reason test.

This may be startling, but their are actually facts that are not found in scientific/medical journals. I'm starting to think that if you couldn't find a scientific experiment proving the sky is blue you wouldn't believe it. It certainly passes the reason test, think about the homosexual act, there is blood and plenty of chances for blood transferred diseases. It's a well known fact that diseases usually show up in the male homosexual population first (Hepatitis B was found widely in this group, which is why it was mainly homosexuals involved in vaccine testing and AIDS was first noticed in the USA in the male homosexual population).

Now despite the fact that it is completely logical that AIDS would spread faster in the homosexual population, I will post a few links to back up my claim.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
