I always like to put things in terms that can be easilly understood. We can get into a long discussion over whether a person can lose his salvation, using the Bible to contend for both sides. But ultimately it must boil down to something that you can easily grasp hold of.

The question, as I see it, boils down to a simple equation: Can a child ever become genetically disconnected from his parents? In other words, can a child ever not be the son or daughter of his or her biological parents? Well, the answer is, obviously, no.

Using the analogy of biological sonship, it is easy for us to understand the Biblical perspective of sonship with God the Father. We were all born biologically of a man and a woman (A father and a mother). Biologically speaking, there is no earthly way that you can disconnect yourself from your biological parents. You cannot "biologically rebel" against your parents.

You can, however, disassociatively rebel against your parents. You can rebel, and leave your household, and your home life, to live another life. But regardless of how you live - whether good or bad - you are still always biologically connected to your parents. It's the same way with God.

When you believe into the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, God puts His life into you, regenerating you with His eternal life. On the one hand, God's salvation is judicial, meaning that the blood of Jesus Christ has judically paid the penalty for your offenses. But on the other hand, God's salvation is organic, which means that because of Christ's shed blood you have become a partaker in God's divine life and nature.

You can leave the provision that God has given you for your daily salvation. However, you can never not be a son of God. The Prodigal took his share of his inheritance (representing the riches of Christ as our eternal portion) and squandered them in worldly pursuits. But eventually he came to himself and repented of his ways, returning to his father. The father did not say, "This is a stranger to me." Rather, he said, "This is my son...who was lost but now is found." The Prodigal had never ceased being a son to his father, even while he squandered his riches. Yet when he returned to his father, his father forgave him, clothed him in the finest robes (Representing the righteousness of Christ) and prepared the finest meal for him.

Like the Prodigal, we may sqander our riches in a fallen world. Yet we never will cease to be sons and daughters of the most high God. We need only repent, turn aways from our sins, and return to the Father, who waits with open arms to clothe us with the righteousness of Christ, and feed us on the riches of His divine life.

Hi MissP, and welcome to Worthy mininsties. It would seem that you are in the will I? or wont I? mode. Well we all have been there probably at one time or another. The very fact that you say you have been through the whole shebang as you call it, suggests to me that you have been convicted at sometime by the Holy Spirit, for He is the one who promps us to seek the face of our Saviour, who is the one who draws us to Himself. Some have referred to the prodical son so I want say any more except to say that is a good example of how much God loves His children, but that doesn't mean to say well that's okay if I have a littlle fling first, then I"ll come back to the Lord later, because you might find yourself in the pig pen when He comes back and of course it will be too late then. I would take the advice of those who suggested to find a good friendly spirit filled church and hang on to Jesus for your dear life. And keep in touch with the saints on this board, there's always people who are ready to help and as Neb said use your pm if you want some help off the boards, especially from our moderators.

Hi Pryzma,

As you noticed people are divided over this topic as it has been discussed many times before....if Jesus saved you ,don't you think He is able to keep you until the end?

If you think you were saved with going through the motions...but you don't really want to live for Jesus, were you really saved in the first place?

I do not believe that people who really realized the agony Jesus went through to save them from their sins and how high that price was can honestly not wanting to live for Him.

To Him be the glory and the power forever and ever.....amen.

Hello Pryzma

Ok.. But what if you know its all true - but you don't really want to go back just yet? ... Or you have tried but it just didn't work out.

Tried? what is their to try. If i believe that that grass is green then do i have to keep trying to believe that grass is green?

So what is it that you are talking about when you say "Or you have tried but it just didn't work out." Do you believe that you must cease to sin or something like that to have salvation? Or is salvation a gift from God and all we have to do is accept we need salvation and accept that gift through the Messiah Jesus?

All Praise The Ancient of Days

Pryzma,

You have got to hear The Truth. There is no paradox in Scriptures. The problem is that one side does not include the foreknowledge of God in Their theology, and have to eliminate our freewill choice purchused for us on The Cross. You can only loose your salvation once you have started that process, by an act of your own freewill to choose to turn away from God, and return to serving your flesh. God will never take it away from you, and no one else can take it from you. It is totally in your hands. You have access in The Bible to The salvation process, which is the hardest road that anyone can take in this pilgrimage, and the results of who you choose to serve. But know for sure that you have to take all The Bible from cover to cover and rely only on The Holy Spirit for your revelation of Truth. He is THE ONLY ONE GOD HAS SENT to teach you The Truth.

God has the foreknowledge of everyone of those choices you will make, He knows how much temptation you can handle without yielding, and will not let satan tempt you beyond that. He allows space for you to grow those temptation muscles so you don't have to be fully developed to start with, so don't worry, trust God, and He will never leave your side, and you can stop all sinning because God has given you power over all the power of your enemy. And bottom line is that you of your own freewill can make your eternity sure. This is what Paul tells us in The Scripture when he tells us to work out our salvations daily, he knew it would take time.

No one has totally free will, not even God himself, for he cannot sin. Also we do not have free will in the sense that if we wanted to do something God did not want us to do, we could not do it. We are bound by God's Sovereignty.

The idea of God's foreknowledge... that is looking through time to see our decisions, and then electing, places the burden on us, who left to our own would not choose God. If God did this he would look down the corridors of time and No one would choose him because they are totally sinful.

We need the Spirit to guide us to our choice of God. Let us not decieve ourselves into thinking that God must yield to man's freewill. Rather, man must yeild to the Will of God.

Some would put it this way. Man's Freewill ends where God's Sovereignty begins.

The Lord Jesus went to the cross willingly, without pretense and without reservation, in spite of my objections, and in spite of myself. It pleased God to put Jesus Christ to death on my behalf. For that which I was absolutely unable and unqualified to do on my own behalf, Jesus Christ accomplished for me.

God saved me in spite of myself. God is saving me in spite of myself. God will save me - in spite of myself.

God will not save you in spite of yourself, you will be saved only if you take up your cross and follow Jesus as an act of your freewill to submit yourself to God's will that you go into the world that Jesus has sent you into the same as The Father sent Him, and be sanctified with The Truth the same as He was. You are under a false sense of security that could cost you your life with Jesus.

I see only opinion in this very strong statement, Try backing that up.

Satan's brag is this, that he has you so decieved to think that you control whether or not you will be in heaven, and not God!

So deceptive is the heart of man that it often deceives itself

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
