How many idle words do we speak that cause us to ignor the needs of the People of God?

How many idle words do we speak that should have been replaced with the Good News?

How many idle words do we speak that bring dishonor and shame to the name of our Saviour?

How many idle words do we speak that should be edifying instead of slandering?

joyce myer came on at 4am and she was talking on the very same study that biblcist has set up hear and what joyce myer shared is from her personal experiances on idle words with in the body of christ she said the tongue can be used to build some one up or it can be used as a tag team were we tare some one down she also has a book that i am going to be getting my self today from our local christian book store as both me and my wife to be love joyce myer i got away from the computer to listen to what she had to share

do we alow the holy spirit to search our hearts do we take heed to the warnings in the bible or do we just take what we want to take and say i am a good person and when we are away from those that know us in our church do we act the goat

the tongue has done so much damage with in too were many have left the faith we can even put a stop to a new christian from moving forward and this is something i am concerned about i have even seen this in the church i was in and i am going threw this with a close friend who use to be a pastor but due to him allowing his flesh to take over and falling to temptation he has not only hurt his wife and his two daughters but the people in the church have also been hurt and instead off the elders talking to the body of christ and forgiving this man he has had personal letters sent to him as one member found out were he is living and gave his adress which he requested for this to be not given out and for him to be left alone my friend has had threatning letters sent to him saying he is a pig he is a dog and he should never have been given the position when the church advertised for a pastor

when my friend is in town i make sure i am in town and we meet up as sevral members have even insulted him in the main street to were one member spat on him what wittness do you think this is showing those who are non belivers ?

i have had to pull up two elders to the point were i openly rebuked them i said were does it say in the bible you have the right to throw this mans sin into his face and i also said were does it say in the bible you have the right to threaten him i also said i am very disapointed as this is one of the reasons i left this church and went to a penticostal apostolic church the church i was in was very traditional

the two elders of the church did not say anything and could not say anything too me they just walked away and left me and my friend it is even hurting him as i am trying my hardest to get him to come back to church even though this man had allowed his flesh to take over it does not mean i am going to sit in judgment on him he is a gifted men an educated man who is very smart

do we realy walk along the side of those that are hurting or have been hurt by others with in the body threw our idle words or do we just put a mask on and say look at me i am a good christian and then when we are by our selves we spit fully put some one down because those in my church who know me will not know what i am doing ?

my friend is on my churches prayer list as i feel god is not finished with him as i said to him david did the very same thing he slept with bethsheba and had her husband killed so he can keep her for him self and when she told david she was pregnant the lord took the child as he saw what david did as david tried to hide this wicked thing he did from god david even pleaded with god and asked god to spare the childs life but god kept his promise when nathan was told to rebuke king david

nathan said what you did in secret god wil bring this to the light david even repented and did not eat but that did not help him or spare the child that was in bethshebas womb

9 why have you despised the commandment of the lord to do evil in his sight you have killed uriah the hittitie with the sword you have taken his wife to be your wife and have killed him with the sword of the people of ammon

10 now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house because you have despised me and have taken the wife of uriah the hittite to be your wife

11 thus says the lord i wil rise up adversity against you from your own house and i will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbour and he shall lie with your wifes of this sun

12 for you did it secretly but i wil do this thing before all isreal before the sun

this is what i was looking at this mornning my self

i am not sitting in on judgment on no one but i am sharing from the heart if you ever come across the path of a pastor that has fallen from grace you will under stand what i am saying my friend has tried to have a meeting with all the members from the church he use to pastor once but not one person will allow him to do this but they can openly attack him in public and send personal hurting letters to this man he has even kept these letters which i told him to burn them this is how much it has hurt him

all he wants to do is openly say sorry and for him to be left alone he could not even worship in the same church he once was a pastor off as he got a letter saying we do not want you hear worshipping with us and you are not welcome and this meeting will never happen

So religion is the epitome of idle words :whistling:

Damien, Brother, :39:

I see what you are saying about your friend. But I also see what the elders of your church are trying to do, as well. If, and I do mean IF, your friend is living in sin, then it is the duty of the elders of the church, and YOU as his friend, to help him find the path away from sin.

If you do not, if you ignore his lifestyle and just concentrate on your friendship and the "fluff" of friendship then your words become idle words. Not doing the work that God intended for them.

If he has repented of his sin and has publically apologized for his behaviour then he should be forgiven. And if the congregation of the church and the elders do not do so, they will be held accountable for their "idle words" spoken against him.

It sounds like this should be a matter of prayer for the Saints here at Worthyboards. :39: Forgiveness is not just a gift to the other person, it's a gift to yourself.

The Word of God is not just for edification of the Saints, for uplifting and teaching. It is also for rebuke and admonishment. If we do not use it at it's full potential then we should not use it at all.

I see what you are saying about "walking along side" people. We can not effectively witness to someone without evidencing our faith in our life. They can not see what is in your heart if you are never heart to heart with them. True, slow-cooker, evangelism is face to face, heart to heart and mind to mind [when that right has been earned]. How can they see, if they are not part of the difficult times as well as the easy ones? Anyone can rejoice when things are going good. It's how the Christian reacts to the difficult times in their life that evidences their true faith in the Living God.

Blessings to you, and your friend.

thank you biblicist

my friend is in need of a lot of prayer he has repented to his wife and to his kids but its over as far as i have noticed he is starting to allow his human nature to take over instead of allowing god to deal with him and he is living with the person he had fallen for

all i can say its one big mess and before i leave and settle were i wil be living in canberra this man needs to hear that god still loves him no matter what he has done i am only young and i never expected to be in a situation like this were i am walking by the side of a pastor that has fallen from grace

he is though brave for staying in a community that is good at gosipping as its a close nit farming community and every body knows every body

he is in contac with his two daughters and has had openly said sorry to his first wife who was just about to have her citazen ship approved to live in Australia but is know living in sydney she is also from the phillippines

so please i would appreciate prayer support if you pm me i can pm you and give you his full name as i feel its not write to leave his full name in a public forum but your topic you set up is a good topic to talk about and its a good study

i had asked my friend if he would like to meet my pastor and another pastor i know of who sort of went threw the same thing but his wife was the one who was involved in an afair and i thought this frined of mine would be the right person to help my friend who i care for

its just sad to see this in real life you read about it you hear about it threw others and when faced with it for the first time its like help god do i walk away and say no or do i dig my heels into the ground and support this man no matter was is being said about me

i also know what the people are like in this church its a very rich congregation and very traditional it took me time to get to know the people as one elder was making me feel welcome were sevral were wondering what i was doing and why i picked their church to settle down its a unitting church and my old church was a unitting church but penticostal charasmatic

thank you for what you said to me

my friend has tried to have an open meeting with the elders first and then has asked if he can openly face the people in the church and ask for forgivness even though sevral have openly insulted him in the main town in the mall and this is what has worried me as people do stop and listen when some one is being openly attacked like this

when i see my friend i always embrace him and ask how he is and he knows i am praying for him

i also did not want to high jack your thread but what i am going threw with my friend fits right in to your topic and what you have said on idle words and i thought i can realy share something hear as i have taken my time to read what other posters have been saying hear in your topic

i am praying for my friend to be open to talking too two other pastors and i am going to be doing as much pushing as i can to get him to see that he needs to talk to these men

but i wil be talking to my friend who is an elder of this church and i will also talk to the new pastor who has taken over as he did the emause walk with me when i did this in 2003 and my friend also is appart of the emause community

an emause walk is were you go away for the weekend and you hear other christians speak on walking clossser with god and you also do some lectures the emaus comunity is very big and mixed with other denominations involved you also have what is called a 4th day were you share what has been happening in your life this happens every 3 months in diffrent churches that are connected with the emmause community

its based on mark were two disciples were walking down this road and then jesus appeard and walked with them they were talking on all the events that took place right up to jesus death and the disciples felt like something burnning with in as they openly talked

Mark 16 Jesus appears to tow disciples

12 after that he appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country

13 and they went and told it to the rest but they did not belive them either

so this is what the emmause community is based on

well i feel i have said as much as i can

god bless from your brother in the lord damien stipic

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
