The churches that allow gays as ministers don't follow the old law at all.

And churches that allow female ministers don't follow the new law either.....and those churches that allow female lesbian ministers are way out of touch with God...

Amen brother shilo!

Praise the Lord..we have an accord

Andrew007,

You are denying what Paul told Timothy in 1Timothy chapter 2 and 3. That is the problem with most so called christians today, they don't like what God said,so they try to intrepret it in a way to suit them. Did Jesus pick 6 women and 6 men for his disciples? no He did not, were the deacons women? no. The bible makes it quite plain what the role of women are,and anybody who has a problem with that,is having a problem with God. I'm not trying to sound rude or smart, but hey,I don't tickle anybody's ears. I speak the truth from God's word, and I know that this topic was about "gay" ministers, and I gave my thoughts on that yesterday, and Andrew and everybody else who reads this, have a good evening, for I'm leaving for Wed. night bible study.

God Bless you all

I love it how some people try to frighten others into their interpretation of the scripture by saying that if you don't agree with them, you don't agree with God. :suspect:

Yep!! That about sums it up. I would suggest to people to dive into the word before you make comments such as "women shoudn't preach"

One thing I've seen on this board is people are quick to speak. Slow down brothers and sisters and seek God in his word before you comment. We need to really pray before we make these kind of comments!!

The Lord's peace to you all!

This is just a pet-peave of mine...

Why do people do this? "Go back to your Bible until you come to my conclusions!" That is the basic assumption here. God forbid you wake up one morning open your Bible and find out "Hey I was wrong!" Why don't we just assume the same amount of study has gone into the issue, and we are all debating on the same level, unless the person admits that they haven't been there, which often is the case.

This is no argument... I think it presumes that you have done more study than the poster who disagrees with you. That is no basis to argue upon. Presumably a 1 year bible student who has accurate beliefs, will not be (or should not be) consider wrong just based on his 1 year as opposed to his 10 years. The 1 year Bible student can be just as wrong as the 10 year, only difference being the 10 year has a lot harder time admitting it!

Luckily I'm about a 5-6 year, so I'm right in the middle, I have not enough Bible study and a really hard time admitting I'm wrong, :P

Personally I'm not for Women in Leadership...amongst the other arguments I have to wonder how a woman can meet this qualification Titus 1 :"namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife,"

But hey, that's my view, and I've probably done just as much study as the next guy, and I've come to this conclusion. Thus far I am not persuaded otherwise... that should be respected.

At any rate this is not a forum about any of this so I'll quiet down now... just my view... I'm sure this is going to light some fire works... oh well... wouldn't be the first time, and I'm sure it will not be the last! :)

I'm certainly not trying to frighten anybody by my so called misinterpretation of scripture. God says what He means and means what He says. Study your bible a little more. My wife even says that women shouldn't preach, and women in my church even say that. A preacher on a local radio station was talking about that recently. The problem with christians today is, they smorgersboard God's word, they pick and choose what they like and forget the rest of what they don't like. Andrew, I didn't mean to offend you by calling you a "so called christian", and I apologize, but I know what God says, I don't claim to know it all, but I do know what I know, and have 619 bible verses memorized, not to brag,so please don't think I am. Men are special, women are special, and they both have their part in God's divine plan, and women are not to preach, and sorry to say, that any person that has a problem with what GOD says, not what I say,has a problem with God,period.

staying off topic...

Look around in your churches. What is the ratio of women to men? Maybe women are preaching because the men aren't willing.

I don't have any problem, biblically, with women preaching/ teaching God's word. I don't think it's biblical for a woman to be a pastor or in some other authority over a man, but there is kingdom work to be done and in every church I've been in, there are far more women than men.

Salt and Light, I totally agree with you. God made men and women differently, each with their unique and special roles. It is such a PLEASURE to be a woman the way God intended. We have our own unique and special and very important ministries in the body. But, unfortunately, pride has gotten into some women's hearts and they can not stand the thought of something they "can't" do. It is the age old problem - God said not to do it, so naturally the person immediately wants to do it.

I will never understand women who believe it is some sort of put down that the female was not appointed as the head, the instructor, the Pastor, the teacher etc. If only many women would embrace the wonderful ministry that God has given them, so much more would be accomplished in the body. But they are busy insisting they are 'just as good as men', 'God is no respector of persons', they insist they have a gift and have been called - and all the while, their true gifts and callings are left undone due to their stubborness.

One particular pet peeve of mine is the excuse/rationalization "well, there are no men who can/will/are able to do it/take the class. Oh, okay. So it's okay to go against God when there doesn't seem to be any other way? LOL

I'm sure my very strong opinion will be unpopular but, hey, it won't be the first time.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
