Hi,

I find that it can be very different each time, depends on what God wants. Sometimes I just share what God has done for me other times it can be sharing the gospel, I try always to be open to the Holy Spirit and let Him guide me in the right direction.

Does this make sense, I dont think there can ever be a formula for witnessing, we are all individuals and God is unique.

Blessings

Hi,

For me it's the smile. God gave me a great big wide one the day I was saved. :emot-heartbeat: Even when

someone doesn't return it I know that they have seen my smile and maybe will remember that

someone showed them a kindness. Another thing I do when I run into a stranger that looks

sad or angry is to say "It looks like you're having a bad day, if you tell me your name I'll say

a prayer for you tonight. Most people will thank me. Some of them look at me funny but

you can be sure they won't forget that I said it. A seed of faith, we can all plant it.

This is a issue for me lately "witnessing" I dont find myself sharing my love and passion for christ with other people. My Father also made it apparent to me that Christianity means fellowship. So I will be working on this. Thank you for the thread. Its great. and Im very thankful to the Lord Jesus for bringing us all together in his word and name.

I know what you mean Heather. We tend to get complacent in our faith.

It takes a consistant walk with the Lord to produce fruit. Even when we don't feel like it it's

important to reach out to the lost.

God bless,

Terri

I try to live my life in a way that the unsaved will see a difference in me and ask what that difference is. I also like to play Christian music whenever it is appropriate. Usually, I am asked about something I listen to or something I do or say that starts the conversation. I take it from there. Most of all, I allow the Holy Spirit to guide me.

Shalom Bib,

Oh my, what a PRECIOUS, moving, testimony! Thank you, thank you for sharing this with us. You've written it in a way that I could almost feel the emotion of your dad. And I pray the L-rd to comfort you when you miss your sweet father and his dear brother in the L-rd, your pastor, both of whom you loved. May G-d's peace and comfort surround you.

I thank G-d for your pastor who shared himself with your father and allowed himself to be the conduit of the Holy Spirit unto salvation for your dad.

G-d bless you! :o

Thank you Vickilynn.

For me, I witness using the Law (The 10 Commandments) to convict sinners of their guilt before the Lord and the need for repentance and salvation.

My family witnessed to me using the gospel and by Christian living, but did not pressure me in any way. They allowed me to make up my own mind in time.

Why do you use a different approach to witnessing than your folks did?

When you use the 10 Commandments, it does indeed convict their conscience. It helps them to realize their need for the Saviour. That what they do in "The Way of the Master". You don't covict them of their sins, their conscience does. And once they admit that they are a sinner and headed to hell, you can present the Gospel to them. As far as results go, it depends on the individual just like it would with any other method.

I also use servant evangelism. (That's when you serve someone then present the Gospel afterwards.)

Preaching the 10 Commandments to people and letting their conscience convict them is evangelism based on Freud's theory of the "super-ego" which acts as the conscience, maintaining the sense of moraility and the prohibition of taboos. Basically the teaching that there is "good in everyone". [Which is ironic since Freud didn't like people at all.]

The Bible clearly states there is not. People are wicked, from birth. Unless and until they see themselves as such, they will see no need for a Saviour.

Shalom Bib,

For me, there is no pre-set way that I witness to people. You see, I ask the Holy Spirit to lead me and what He wants one person to hear, for another He may choose a different route.

There are times that I simply love people and tell them it's because Jesus loves me. I do this when I go to help feed the street people. They have heard the preachers, they know all the rhetoric, they just need to see Jesus' LOVE in action. That will touch their hearts, not words. I do let them know I am there because of Jesus and He loves them, but then I serve them food. THAT to them speaks louder than any words.

When I go into places to witness, such as jails or shelters, we are the "program" and they know we are coming and that we are there to tell them about Jesus. We sing and share our testimonies, but we don't point fingers at them, only tell how we were before Jesus and then how He saved us and how we are different.

When I witness to Jews, it's a whole different story. It's all about G-d and how He loves them and there is NO condemnation or criticism, but sharing G-d's love and through the OT, how He sent a Messiah that DID come, not one they are still waiting for.

For my Jewish family, it's walking out love. Being bold in my love for Jesus not hiding it or watering it down, but not pointing out their sins. They KNOW their sins. They think I judge them because I am a Christian, and I surprise them when they say or do something they know is contrary to my beliefs as a Christian, yet I don't judge them, or criticize them, but love them.

To the person on the street, there is no time to make a friend. I ask the Holy Spirit what this person needs to hear and then I share it. Again, not criticizing, but sharing Scripture.

I believe we need to love and show Jesus' love and be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit in how best to share that with people, for they are not all the same.

As for me, well, I'm an odd Jewish bird. G-d worked on me for many years and my testimony is long, but the FIRST time this Jew ever heard that Jesus was the Son of G-d and that He died for the sins of the world came from a Rick Opera that Christians were boycotting and calling blasphemous. It is "Jesus Christ:Superstar" and G-d used it to open my heart to Jesus.

Thank you, Vickilynn.

It is very important to know who you are talking to, what they believe and how to talk to them. One would not go into a foreign country without learning the language of the locals first. It would be very rude to expect them to speak your language.

Witnessing is the same way. There is no set way to witness, no formula. The Holy Spirit has to lead.

I like your idea, Terri!

I heard about this idea one time and tried it...

My mother and I went to lunch at a reastaurant and before we prayed for our lunch we asked the waitress if there was anything we could pray for her about. We got almost all of her life story and we were so blessed to pray for her and her family.

You know that commercial, all you need is a couch and a box of kleenex. It's true! People just want someone to listen and hear that there is HOPE. Jesus is our hope, we need to share that not keep it to ourselves.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
