I believe in the gifts of the Spirit, all of them. But nothing surpasses the Word:

In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. (Hebrews 1:1-3a)

Hi Near,

I guess I did misunderstand what your were saying. I can see more clearly after reading the other posts what you meant. I think your wording threw me off a little, like "playing around with it, turning it off and on, easily mastering it." These words made me think you were doubting the dreams are from God. God absolutely talks and shows us things

through dreams and visions. But so does the enemy. As Christians we are more open to the devils lies. The deeper our relationship with God the more discernment we have. This is what I meant by knowing if it is really from God. I haven't personaly seen into the future. I really don't think I want to. ;) I have had dreams that have half way come true. Usually my dreams are just an urging from God to pray for someone. I do have the gift of knowledge however but God speaks to me through scripture and prayer rather than dreams and visions. God bless you hun and sweet dreams.

In Christ, Terri

Okay, this was just something I wanted to talk about. I saw another thread like this one, but my thread is just a bit casual, not actually concerning any Biblical topics...(please don't get angry at me - I got bashed a couple of times for talking about this).

***

What I wanted to kind of say was does anyone else have like these visions/dreams of stuff? I have this kind of strange talent I never even knew I could do. I have lots of dreams, a lot of them are just regular creative dreams that I have all time, but I do have the occasional dream about something. Now, I usually have like these scenes in my head of kind of future events...not that I've seen anything happen (yet), but now I'm thinking God is kind of letting me play around with it a little. I just kind of learned how to use it - where I can kind of turn it off - and - on. It's not easily mastered yet (patience!) for me, maybe for others it is. I'm kind of working up to asking about "Can I see what's going to happen next year, etc", but I just was really curious to know if anyone else has these kinds of experiences. If you're kind of confused, that's okay! I have a hard time explaining it, it's a really confusing thing I have going on that I don't even know.

Near,

God gives me dreams, for the purpose of intercession prayer, and other times He is sharing something with me. I've saw some awesome thing done by the Lord. I'm also cautious about if He wants me to share or not because sometimes it is from Him to Me. You need God to teach you these things, make sure you remain in the Word of God, and you maintain your fellowship with the Lord.

Keep a prayer Journal, along with the your word of God study and write down those dreams and seek God for them in private, If it has spiritual meaning, seeK God for clarification, if you have a close well seasoned Christian mentor, prayer partner or pastor, especially those who operate in the same gifts will be able to guide you in your understanding.

blessings on your journey with the Lord

I just think you wouldn't be questioning it if it's really coming from God. You would know it.

Now I'm not sure if that's completely accurate, because we are all weak in mind sometimes and doubt the things of God. We might feel it is from God, but then at the same time doubt it in our minds. Sometimes these things need to be trusted in faith (if we believe them to be of God) so that God can show us properly that it is something from Him.

I think you kind of misread what I was saying. I'm not questioning who it came from, that's not really on my mind right now and it doesn't bother me that much. I was just more interested if anyone else had these kinds of things, because I do feel slightly indifferent to people because of it. Like, if I'm in public with other people, and someone says something and I'm like, "I remember that I saw you say that," and then everyone looks at me like I'm crazy, is kind of what I meant. I know it came off as if I was questioning where it came from, but it's hard for me to explain it clearly without either someone getting angry at me or just starting to avoid me. It's become more of something I want to tell other people, and I know I can't tell everyone. I just felt comfortable on Worthy than other places I've been to, where the people just like fall on the ground and die if you say something like this. That's all.

I know how you feel, I can relate completely! It is hard sometimes to find Christians who won't stare are you with a scared look when you foretell things either by prophetic or gift of knowledge. Although we are supposed to be "spiritual" people, it does sometimes seem that things of a spiritual nature freak people out!

All I can say is be careful of who you trust in telling, and make sure you speak to someone who you do completely trust to believe you and not judge you; be that your church leaders or just a close Christian friend.

I've seen these kind of things get all out of hand in just the last few months, where someone has trusted people who gossipped and then joking and comes about and everyone turns someone's genuine gift of God into a silly thing to "joke" about.

I know! The last time I said this, everyone got angry at me and started attacking me like hungry wolves! They weren't as kind as everyone here!

Oh, and Tervana, that's okay! I forgive you! <3 I understand, some of the words I said were two-dimensional and could be used in other ways, but that's okay!

Thanks everyone for your advice, I really appreciate it! <3 <3

~Merry Christmas,

Near!

When God shows you your spiritual dreams line up with the word and you ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth, sometimes God reveals a little at a time-writing it down will keep it in memory, and the word that the Lord gives you can be confirmed in what your pastor is preaching or what your prayer partner tells you, God is really deep and His word is very interesting.

Yes it is. I never thought about keeping a journal before, it may help a lot.

I believe your dreams are to be taken seriously and that you should get councel and encouragement from a pastor or spiritual mentor Near.

My wife dreams sometimes and they have been profoundly interesting. One night I was out of town and her best (non-christian) friend stayed over night. When they woke in the morning my wife shared the dream, that had been a metaphorical dream of her best friend following my wife in the path she has taken in order to avoid getting hurt so much in her life. Meaning follow her into christianity. Her friends mouth dropped open as the dream was told, because she had had the same dream exactly.

You'll also find Daniel dreaming lots of future events in the book of Daniel. Read that I think you will really find your self in good company. But Near, make your name count you near to god just as Daniel did. It will help emensly.

I have many friends that dream like you do, so don't think your alone in this walk.

God I pray you begin to connect Near up to those who could best encourage and block those that would discourage anything you have put into Near. If lord you've designed Near to be a prophetic dreamer than lord confirm that many times as you lead Near, nearer to you. thank Jesus your the best. And Happy birthday amen

My major concern through all that has been written there seem to be the great underlying fact that you are not a member of a fellowship. You need to, and this is very important, get yourself in a place where you are comfortable and able to get instruction. Your gift is very important and should be nurtured to the full. Many think that they have an ability, but do not seek to develop them in the church and can be lead to think that they are doing good. You have a duty to yourself and to those that may one day rely on your gift to be in the company of Christ regularly. I say this because it is only when you are truely walking with Christ that you will reach your full potential.

Acts 2:17 says there will be dreams and visions.

Also, recommend the book "Seer" by Jim Goll.

Yeah, I just wish there were some good churches in my area. And I don't feel comfortable talking to a pastor/priest yet. Maybe when I get more comfortable with what has been going on and when I feel more open. Also, I don't want people to take advantage of it (as many shall try to do). I don't want to be commercialized and made into some sort of entertainment object for everyone to pull on. I want the real meaning to shine through, not the one the public wants to hear.

Thanks for your prayers I appreciate it!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
