Honestly if Oprah's salvation falls higher on our list of priorities than the "Blood Diamond" trade or forced child prostitution......

The point is that Oprah's following is huge and she has a lot of influence. Why not worry about her salvation? She seems like a good person who is following a dangerous path. As for the other issues.......I don't understand what they have to do with the subject at hand.

How much attention was given to him getting counseling to return to a "heterosexual mindset". I have family who know the Haggards personally, i've met him, nice guy, whatever.... anyway, Ted Haggard was given a year's salary after he stepped down. $200,000... in one year... to not work. To go to counseling for "homosexual thoughts, feelings and lusts." Why? $200,000 in one year given to a man who didn't earn it??? And yet everyday homeless shelters and soup kitchens have to literally BEG government agencies for funding. But New Life will hand out $200,000 to Ted Haggard while he sits on a couch and listens to how being gay is wrong.

I'd never heard of this guy but I agree, that's a hefty severance pay, and in fact, a hefty salary for a preacher. I suppose it depends on the location where he lives and how many kids he has, but it seems like too much for someone who's devoted his life to preaching the gospel.

Its sickening. Wake up church. Lives are being ruined while we turn an intentional blind eye.

While worry is a sin, I am concerned about her and especially the fact that she could be the most influencial person in America (and Canada?) She is unknowingly leading millions astray with this.

She needs prayer. Hopefully her friend Denzel can have some influence on her.

I am confused. What is wrong with the Course in Miracles?

I always assumed that Oprah was not a Christian by any sort of traditional definition, she is always talking New Age stuff, I think she is really into Depok Chopra and so forth, pretty much the all paths lead to God idealization.

But you know I don't think it is judging someone to state if they are or are not a Christian believer, it is simply a factual account of what they believe. To be a Christian one must believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of all humanity, and that there is only one path to God and that is through Christ who IS God, that is just a start about what Christians believe but it is a basic beginning in understanding who a Christian is and is not.

One cannot deny Christ and what He did and be a Christian, if you believe that there are other paths to salvation outside of Christ, you are denying Christ and what He did and are not a Christian.

I am not judging Oprah from what I can tell she has a good heart and has had struggles in life and overcome them. She is also one of the richest entertainers in the world, so I don
