Just wondering, if you had a relative, whom you love dearly, yet she is wiccan, where would your boundary be in the relationship? Pretend you have two children to think of. Would you be willing to stay with your family at her house for a week or so? Or would you only want her to stay at your house? Or would you use a hotel when you went to see her or had her come see you? Would you allow her to talk on the phone wth your children? Would it depend on the spiritual maturity of your children? How would you go about it?

I have a brother in law, who has mixed Christ with ways that are not of God, this does not work. his ways include incantations, and worship of the land, as well as native american ways (witchdoctor) types of worship that are not of God....

he was going around doing his incantations around other people in the family, and when he started towards me and my wife, he froze...... he stood there for a few seconds, turned and went the other way.

later he handed me a book, a loose leaf, and asked what i thought of it, soon as i opened it, red flags popped up, this was nothing for the Word of God. was not in line with God..... I read a couple paragraphs in different sections, and closed it.

he asked what I thought of it, so I told him.... nothing but a form of witch craft...... he asked why i thought that, so i showed him, where his book does not line up with God.... he did not like the answer..

I do not forbid him in my house, or from any family function, actually, i insist he be there.....

this past thanksgiving, we rented a hall, and everyone brought something (almost pot luck) and we had about 50 people there.... he thought he would not be welcome, and took off some where.. some one knew where he would be, so we had him fetched for the dinner, for he was and is welcome....

staying at his place? when we go into the town (area) we get a motel, this way no one is offended for us staying at one house rather then another, and we find it more comfortable for us as well, we can visit them all, and retreat to the motel when we are tired.....

I would display the Power of the Spirit of God to win her over to the Lord. Then I would Lovingly let her stay at my house and I would stay at her House.

1 Corinthians 2

4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

What a great question! Perhaps I can answer it with some questions, just like Jesus often did.

Which is greater and more 'dangerous', the Spirit of God in you or any spirit in the wiccan?

If you and your kids know the Truth can a lie overcome The Truth?

Is your experience of God real (like the wiccan's may be of the 'spirit world') or are you 'playing church'?

Did any believer in the new testament ever have a problem that they couldn't handle involving an evil spirit or someone involved in paganism?

Whom are we told to fear, God or satan?

my daughter (oldest one) is involved in the whole wiccan/pagan/mysticism thing. she can't really make up her mind exactly what she is.

i allow her to stay in my home. i have no objection to her being around my other daughter's son. i just cover them, and my home, with prayer. she's not allowed to bring her occultic stuff into my home, nor is she allowed to practice it in my home.

when i visit her, i stay with her. i don't try to push my beliefs on her and expect her to show me the same regard. i keep a prayer covering over myself and my environment when i'm there... that includes her, her home, her husband and friends, and soon will include her own baby.

if this were a more distant relative, i think it would be a different story. but it's not a more distant relative.. it's my daughter. and i am praying for her salvation. under no circumstances would me or anyone in my immediate family alienate her because of her rebellious belief system.

i dont believe there is a bond as strong as the one between mother and daughter. very good reply.:24:

don't tell her that redwing! she works hard at trying to convince herself that there is no strong bond between us... (despite her calling me a half dozen times a day sometim*es for anything from directions, to accessing her bank acct to pay her bills, to venting frustrations....) :24:

Just don't forget that Jesus' fellowship with "the sick" was one of acceptance. THEY were accepting of His message of Truth. He did not surround Himself with those who were contentious of the message of Truth. If that were the case, His companions would have been the Pharisees and Saducees, rather than the fishermen, tax collectors and hookers. But then again, they were not offended by the message of "righteousness".

Matthew 21:31 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

Something to consider and understand with regard to fellowship.

In His Love,

Suzanne

Tsth, you make an excellent and very true point. My aunt is so not open to the gospel AT ALL, and in fact tried to encourage my children into some of her Wicca stuff, asking Tyler to touch her crystal ball and giving him innapropiate books and such. Where is that verse about dusting off one's sandals? I was just trying to find it and cant find it.

LadyC, you and I are on the same page. I also have a pagan living with me. What better way to SHOW her how Christians should live, than to let her see it every day?

I'm hoping my influence on her will be a turning point for her to come to Christ.

Never ever shun the lost, if you do, who is gonna help bring them to Christ?

Here are three verses.

Matther 10:14 "And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when you depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet."

Mark 6:11 "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city."

Luke 9:5 "And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them."

I have one daughter that has been a Wiccan for many years. I have another that also believes in a faith like Wicca, but I'm not sure what it is for it is mingled with lesbianism. She won't tell me because she know my faith. Still, I love them both and will be there for them through the love that Jesus has given me. In my flesh, I could scream at them until I'm blue in the face and only make them not ever want to listen to anything I have to say. As it stands, the long-suffering I have has displayed love that they want and respect. They know who my God is and they are not against me for loving Him with all my heart. I plant seeds. Someone else will have to water them and God will do the harvest. I have faith in this.

For a scripture, I can stand on my signature.

Provebs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct your paths.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
