Oh wow, I just turned off my t.v. because what I saw was sooooo sad! I was watching Christian t.v. and a group was on, didn't catch their name because after I saw the lead singer take off his jacket and swing it around like he was Prince or someother rocker, after I saw all the smoke coming up and all the hooping and hollering as if it was the Holy Ghost and not the flesh, I had to turn it off!! No wonder so many of our kids are straddeling the fence! We say our kids have it harder today than we did growing up as Christians because of all they have to contend with in the world...how about we take a closer look at the church folks! The Lord tells us we are in this world but not of this world! We teach our kids not to get into things like heavy metal, the our our Christian groups act just the same!!!??? Where are we headed if we don't stop compromising with this world! The Lord said to be carnally minded is death!! Sure enough there are 5 virgins that go in to meet the Bride Groom and 5 who do not! Are all ten the virgins? Yes. Do all ten go in? No! Why...because the five who were not storing up oil were doing their thing in this world and neglecting the things of God...we are holy vessels of God! Stop filling them with funk food and dirty oil, the Groom is coming for a Bride that is looking for Him!

Carnal! Don't eat at that table folks...eat at the table of the Lord! We love Him bec ause He first loved us. He won't stear us wrong. Read what He has to say and abide in Him. Who on earth, after having tasted of His wonderful joy would want some phoney immitation of the dance, shout, and anointed songs that the Lord loves to inhabit.. Sure don't see Him inhabiting some of this stuff today! Call me an old fuddy duddy if you like...I want the real deal!!

Well, discussing if the music and and of itself are evil or if the Christian music industry is acting responsibly are two different topics.

The article presented in the OP was barking up the wrong tree. Period.

What you have brought up, jesussaves, is indeed a problem that I would agree with. However, I would disagree that the music is the problem. What you have brought up is a whole new can of worms.

How is swinging a jacket around, or a flame pot going off evil exactly? How do you know God doesn't like to rock? :emot-pray:

Has anyone read Don't Stop the Music by Dana Key? We have it, my husband has read it several times. Wonderful book.

Shalom Bibs,

No, haven't read the book, but we LOVE DeGarmo and Key's music!

I, too, am a huge fan of theirs...I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Aaron Benward not too long ago (formerly of the CCM duo Aaron Jeffery)...so that was much fun! I've never heard of the book, though...what's it about?

OH MY!!!! How did you ever make it to the smoke? Once the guy took his jacket off you should have known trouble was coming!

I once saw a Christian show where the woman was allowed to talk at the dinner table and I switched off right then!

Music should be different as a believer is different from a nonbeliever. I do not like when christian music sounds like worldly music.

But ther is no music that is distinctly "Christian". Music is music, it's how you use it that counts.

And jesusaves, the performer was just putting on a good show.

Nothing wrong with a little theatrics.

there are certain music that have beats and notes, a lot of noise, and sound as if I am at a Mountaion cioncert in the 70's. Been to heaven and heard heavens music.... Sorry. I english prayers are translated to a purer language and become music which bounces and rebounds all over heaven as well.

So, certain beats and notes make music evil? Do you have Scripture to support this assertion, or just a mystical experience?

There is playing the timbrels for a ungodly lusty response and playing them for God. A animaliostic sexual beat is not what I would call Godly....Music should come from the heart and depending where and who's heart it is depends whether I would call it christian or not. Do you know there is a well known composition out there that absolutely no muscician will play? Many have died during its playing of it.

Ephesians 5:19

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
