as with any talent, gift, or activity, it takes practice and work and dedication to the task.....

a while back, I heard a lady talk about a friend of hers, and how that friend would spend 4 hours a day in prayer, shut off by her self...... this lady had always admired her friend for being so dedicated to prayer.....

one day she decided that she was going to increase her prayer power...... she thought she would be able to start with about 4 hours, for she was a "GOOD" Christian......

she cleared out a spare room, set it up with everything she thought she would need for prayer, and told the family, that when she went in there, she was not to be disturbed.....

the next morning, she woke up, and went into the room with her Bible, journal, clock, and some coffee (maybe something else to drink instead, i can not recall exactly) and shut the door.....

she knelt, and started praying down her list...... and she prayed about everything else that came to mind, and she cried and prayed.... she prayed prayers of thanksgiving, intercessory prayers, every kind of prayer she could think of...... and she got done praying, and looked at the clock, and she still had 3 hours and 55 minutes left of the 4 hours.......

to pray 4 hours aday, is not something that will happen over night, it takes years of praying to be able to pray like that consistantly......

as was said in previous postings, some people are called to preach, some to teach, some to exhort, some to heal, some to travel, some to stay put, some to encourage, some to pray, some to speak, some to listen.....

I love teaching, one on one/two..... i have taught larger groups, but i excel in small very intimate groups (10 or less).....

Teresa can stand before a huge group and be just as at home as I am with one or two...... as a team, we are able to cover just about any situation.......

now, if the Lord leads, and I heed the call, i will stand before a large group and teach/preach, but that is not me, that would, as with small groups, be the Holy Spirit doing the work......

Teresa has been used more like that of a prophet then me, and i have not as much, for me, healing has passed through this body, and Teresa just a bit...... God will use us as He sees fit...... there are times i will not be used for anything (that I see in the flesh) for a long time.... but when I really look at it, like lately, i have been used as an example of submission..... and also it is teaching me how to be even more submissive to those in higher authority.......

I love to pray, Teresa loves to pray, we both love to read and to talk with people, and love to sing praises and be joyous unto the Lord...... street work is more of her way, and less of mine, praising is something I do almost non-stop through out the day, we both have our strong and weak area's and we compliment each other in those area's...

this next week, we will be starting something I have never done before, and she has not done it for a good long while, so i am stepping way.....WAY..... beyond my comfort zone......

STRETCH ME LORD, INCREASE MY TERRITORY, MAKE ME LESS AND YOU MORE. WHAT EVER IT TAKES, JUST ONE MORE PERSON, WHAT EVER IT TAKES, JUST ONE MORE SOUL, JUST ONE MORE LIFE, ONE MORE FOR YOU LORD. PUSH ME, DRIVE ME.....

I have been thinking a lot about the power of prayer lately, and i have noticed some interesting things in my own life. When I think about the people I know who are what I call "prayer warriors" it strikes me that I feel as though some of their prayers seem to be "answered" more often than others. It is my understanding that individual Christians are uniquely gifted for specific tasks (pastoring, encouragement, hospitality, etc.), but I do not see in scripture where prayer is included in that list. I don't know that I have a specific question in all of this, but any thoughts/scriptures would be appreciated.

we all have gifts that god gives us and some are good at doing one thing while others have a gift in another area were they do what they do good

we have prayer warriors in my partners church and we have prayer warriors in my church and i am a prayer warrior as this is one of my gifts and i am a prayer intercesor as well

how this happend i cant honestly say but my spiritual mentors who took me into their home encouraged me to walk in this gift as i have been to an all night prayer rally and i have been to a two day prayer ralley and i love going to prayer meeting when i pray something happens and i just dive in the deep end i know when i finish praying i am a better person for it i also stand in the gap for my partner who is a pastor in the phillippines and when god shakes me or gets me out of bed at odd hours in the morning i do not question him when he tels me to pray i pray but sometimes i want to know who i am praying for and why i am being jolted like this to get out of bed when i have to be at work and need my rest

when i was in the phillippines i saw what god can do threw prayer while i was with my partner and her pastrol team i prayed with them i sat in their devotions and then we prayed

god moves when we pray he cant move when doubt sneeks in i saw god heal two men with back problems in one of the crucades we went to but before steped out of the church we prayed for the community and for the crucade and trusted that souls wil be one over into the kingdom

i even saw this in the revival and healing meeting we had the following night as well and it just blew me away

all i can say prayer warriors are an important asset to the church to their pastors and leadership teams and to their communitys as us prayer warriors know how to counter react satans attacks and we also pray for the sunday church services

if their were no prayer warriors or intercessors it wil be a sad sad world were we wil not experiance the move of the holy spirit among our members our pastors need this on a daily basis they need strong men and women praying over them as our pastors are on the front line and satan loves to attack our pastors and their familys

all i can say is this i love being a prayer warrior and intercesor know i am having to also walk in the new calling the lord is wanting me to walk in but when i am pastoring by my partners side in the phillippines as a pastor it is not going to stop me from what i love doing

god bless from damo

Everyone of us are supposed to be pray, be apt to teach, obey the commandment to GO as Jesus said, and so on...however...ther are people the Lord has anointed specially to as well. For example, everyone is to be able to teach but not everyone is called to be a teacher. Some of us have a special anointing as intercessors...yet we all must be prayer warriors, putting on the whole armor of God each day and pray without ceasing...in season and out.

Here is a prime example of someone that is anointed as intercessor.

""There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old. She had lived with her husband 7 years after her marriage and then was a widow until she was 84. She never left the temple, but worshipped night and day, fasting and praying...." Luke 2:36-37

I think while God gives us each special gifts, that may make us better prepared , HE also gives us each ample ability to be "prayer worriors" when we are called upon. But it all takes time to master and get over the "awe" of speaking to God!

Isn't it sort of backward that the "prayer warrior" is the one people turn to for prayer instead of one turning himself to God in prayer? Isn't it kind of Pharisee-like? A choice: Go to your closet to pray or be seen as a mighty prayer warrior? Can you see who is getting undue credit here? I am not saying that you should not have people to pray for you. If the prayer was answered, God answered it, and it was not man's abilty or prowess. Remember the error of Baalim. There is no prescription or ritual for prayer. One person makes a need known to God and without telling God how he is demanded and expected to meet the need (God is master and not servant- not a genie in a bottle to bow to our commands). He will answer according to his will. There is scripture that says that God knows our requests before we pray. So are we going to manipulate him by what ritual or words we say? He knows our hearts and our words do not deceive him. If you have actually found a way to be close to God you will be in constant prayer and communication with God as though he was walking beside you. It will be silent and constant with humility and respect and not like a pharisee to be seen as mighty by men. It will be praise much more than request. When it is request, it is for the well being of others more than for self.

I think though that your perception of "answered" prayer is in the result being that the wish is granted. The genie was made to perform. They want a new car, but if they received a free ride to work every day, the prayer wasn't answered? My father had cancer of the lung many long years ago, and in his final days he was gasping for air and said he couldn't take it any more. He was ready to die. For his sake I prayed that the Lord comfort him and end the misery according to his will, even if it meant death. My father died in ten minutes. Another person rebuked Satan and claimed the promise of healing and my father still died. Of those two, which person's prayer was answered?

We are spoiled brats in our Father's house, demanding our own way and in fear of everything. We ask for the lusts of the flesh when we should ask for faith. Our walk is erratic and turned on and off like a light switch. We turn it on when we want something from God. If we are dying, we are afraid of death (you will rise again to a world without evil- why want to be here?), and we find 100 people to pray for us. Could we instead pray for forgiveness, for more closeness to God, for more faith and no fear of death. Pray for faith to trust God that death will not hurt us. To know that the ultimate healing is the ressurection. To have the faith to be able to continue to walk with God even in homelessness, and poverty, even without an automobile.

When praying, don't rebuke Satan as some do. Have no conversation with him. It just shows your fear of him. Resist Satan and he will flee from you. In other words keep God's commandments. The words of rebuke in prayer are only the words of a clown if you are not walking the walk. Actions are truth, words are not necessary. Faith protects you from all harm.

People want so many things and the only important things are salvation, faith, love, and a closeness to God. God told Paul "My grace is sufficient for you." I guarantee that this one request is always answered with a yes, and if you have that you have everything.

Welcome to Worthy, nonameleft. You speak wisely. It shows that you have been watching, but I have to say just one thing. Those who are true prayer worriers are true followers of Jesus and you may never know who they are, for they are not those as the Pharisees, standing in the public place praying prayers with many words, but, in fact, those who you will never know that are praying for you or everyone else. They are those who are on the front line of the spiritual battle, strengthing the Saints, helping them prepare for the everyday battle they face as Christians. Yes, to have the connection you mention is the desire of the Lord, but He also give those the gift of faith to stand in silent battle for His other worriers.

In His Love,

OneLight

OneLight,

Amen. I am agreeing with this, especially the "silent", and there is also a place for spoken corporate prayer. Your words describe a lot of wonderful gifted but humble Christians I have known.

For a person who is comparing prayer results and wanting to get better results themselves, they have to work on their own relationship with God. The Pharisee metaphor is a word of caution when some seem to be promoting themselves too much. It can seem that their results are a lot better than they really are.

Comparing results can be misleading. Every situation is different. But it is very good to desire to do better.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
