this is a passage from the book "Walk of Repentance" by Steve Gallagher. i think it's worth sharing.

i recently heard a message from romans 12:2 by

a minister for whom i have tremendous respect.

he said that God is trying to transform our

"fallen" minds into the Mind of Christ.

Although the anti-christ wasn't the topic of

his message, he made a very poignant statement

that bears repeating. he said that those who

continually watch television are keeping their

minds within the mentality of this world. he

said that one day a man will appear on thaT

television claiming to have all the answers for

all of the problems of mankind.he went on to

say that Christians often naively think that

they will be able to withstand the deception of

the anti-christ when he comes, but those who

watch television are at present aligning their

minds with him already. he said it would be

IMPOSSIBLE for them to withstand the heavy

delusion that will come upon the world that

day. he said: "if they can't say "no" to that

TV now, what makes them think they will be able

to say "no" to it when that day comes?"

It's not the TV that allows this deception to occur...it's the condition of the heart.

And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thess. 2:11-12

This reminded me of when I stopped watching tv once for 1 1/2yrs as a protest and to pray more, which I did and to do other 'spiritual' things like I'd occupy some time in Christian chat on the internet also, some of which was constructive. Though everything wasn't perfect I'd gotten too raw and too sensitive and would wince at tv, unable to concentrate and bear it or people like before. Up til now approx. 6yrs later, it's still not relaxed like before though things are improveing. There is a fall 'from even tv standards' and it's in those "not so social" times one'd need fellowship because spritual awareness can become heightened and one finds oneself as though on one's own. Because of these experience I don't like exagerrate against tv because there are godly influences involved even though subtle.

I'll also add Matthew 24:24

For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

TV is just a tool that is used by everyone. As mentioned, it is the heart that needs to be right with God. As this generation seeks for a "better" and "newer" connection with God, they are forgetting what the Bible tells us and are accepting what popular preachers are telling them

Lets look at all of the scripture from man.

The Great Apostasy

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

TV is just one of many tools, but the most widely used tool. In just about every house there is a TV, if not 2,3 or even 4. If we were to analyze the shows that are for our "entertainment", we will see that they are leading us away from God. This would be another good discussion in another thread. Satan using our enjoyment through TV to blind us into accepting evil as normal.

The heart of the matter is a matter of the heart. You can sway one's opinion, chage their point of view; but only when the heart is changed can the old become the new.

Give us clean hands, Lord. Give us Pure hearts.

TV may actually be helpful to some people in some ways. To other people, it may be destructive. By the same token, some people have born bad fruits after receiving Biblical advice, because their hearts were wrong.

Shalom,

AMEN.

The same thing with the Internet. It is but a tool. For some it's good, and there are those who get into trouble using it.

The problem is the heart, not the tool.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
