All the miracles that are written in Marks 16th chapter have been in operation since Jesus sent the Disciples out to preach

That is something that I have wondered about.

Do you know people who drink poison and are unharmed by snakes?

Where in The Bible did you read that someone drank poison? Paul was bitten by a snake but he didn't drink poison. I have talked to some missionaries who have gone to the most remote areas of the earth to preach The Gospel who have had attempts to poison them by with doctors fail, but they didn't intentionaly drink pioson. We are not to tempt God. And if someone should do as the Religious leaders of Christs day did by accusing him of doing things by satan they could possibly tempting God. satan is an imitator who has certain powers but they are always different than God's miracles, and will glorify men rather than God. There are so many testimonies of God's miracles in the life stories of missionaries that one does not have to doubt that miracles are happening, and have been ever since God intitiated His plan for the salvation of our relationship with Him.

The only reason their is controversy in this area is because man continues to lean to his own understanding.

There are people who handle snakes in church services, some are bitten and I believe I have read that some have died.

These acts are no different than when Lucifer ask Jesus to jump off the high wall and have the angels catch him. Jesus told him that it is written that we should not test the Lord. I think that is the example we should take.

I have also read that there are many instances when missionairies have been bitten accidentally and not harmed, however I don't know about of any of these personally.

I was bitten by a copperhead many years ago (not while I was active as a christian) and it was not a good experience. Come to think of it, it was not too long after that, that the Spirit convicted me of my wayword ways and brought me back into a close walk with Him.

Um, I was referring back to your post about Mark 16. You said that all of the signs from that passage are still valid today. And it says those signs would be done by "those who believe", not just apostles or church leaders.

as far as i know there has never been a death from the bite of a copper head in Kansas or Missouri ...... many bites, many sick from it, no deaths......

from what i have personally experienced, a copper head, for the most part, will try to avoid people, and will only bite when they feel threatened......

the largest copper head i have ever seen was well over 3 feet long, and when I seen it, I was on my way to pass it for about the sixth time in just a matter of a few minutes.... going up and down some basement steps.... it had no intention of trying to bite but was ready to if i had stepped on it..... a very beautiful snake...

needless to say, the person with me is one that would go out of his way to kill a snake of any kind, me, I like them and have had no harm come to me from them except when once with a huge black snake, which i received a bite, other then that no other snake ( rattlers, cottonmouths, copperheads or any other ) has ever bit.

do I account this to being careful? not peticularly, some times i have been foolish in my actions.....

personally, i do not purpossly mess with snakes except for teaching reasons...

I think you're missing the point here. Not all snakes bite, and not all that do are poisonous. Among those that are poisonous, some are worse than others.

Do you understand what I was asking?

Mark 16, doesn't say that they intentionally drank poison. Like I said we are not to tempt God. God intends for us to do everything Christ did, but this is only going to happen for each of us as individuals when we surrender totally to His will, and are in such a close personal relationship with Him that He can trust us with these gifts that are operated by The Holy Spirit using us. I have been used in most of these gifts, so I don't have to wonder if they are still in operation I know they are. The biggest hinderance to them is men leaning to their own understanding in regards to them. I was there and did that, but when I surrendered it to God then I found the Truth.

Agreed. But you still haven't answered my question.

You said that all of the signs described in Mark 16 are still valid today...right? One of them is drinking poison without harm. So once again: do you know of anyone who has consumed poison without being harmed?

This is not a setup. I don't have any agenda. I'm not going to jump out of a closet to accuse you of something, based upon your answer. I'm simply trying to understand your position here.

OK?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
