We have anti niose laws that would have to be dealt with here. It would be interesting. I have some really good old monster speakers and 300 watt amplifiers that could play a lot of Elvis gospel music for all the Christians of central Oklahoma.

I saw something on the news recently where a church had to turn their bells down below 50 decibles because a local atheist was complaining about "religious" music being played. The reporter could not hear the bells over the traffic in front of the church but the atheist just KNEW that they were ringing out the gospel so the city made them turn it down.

I can't imagine this mosque would be welcomed at any time....much less at 6 AM

Kinda reminds me of the Crystal Cathedral, a famous church here in California.

When they built the place about 20 years ago, it included a fancy bell tower. It was used just a few times, until the neighbors complained that it was too loud.

It has rarely been used since.

What a wonderful use of $5 million. :t2:

Sennerhu why is it that you compare a Christian with the KKK and the Aryan Nations? Christians come in all shapes, sizes, colors, ethnic backgrounds. That is uncalled for to group a christian with a hate group. And I find it interesting you didn't mention other hate groups like terrorists, ACLU, etc.

America guarentees freedom of religion and no matter what religion you practice for whatever reasons people should not be labeled because of that. As to the muslim call to prayer they can use pagers or something and would accomplish the same thing.

UPDATE:

Mich. City OKs Islamic Calls to Prayer

Wednesday April 21, 2004 5:01 AM

HAMTRAMCK, Mich. (AP) - The City Council gave preliminary approval Tuesday night to a mosque's plans to send out a call to prayer to Muslims on a loudspeaker.

The Bangladeshi al-Islah mosque wants to air the Arabic call to prayer via loudspeakers five times a day, but agreed Tuesday not to air the calls before 6 a.m. or after 10 p.m.

The council indicated it would give the plan final approval next week.

Some Muslims say the call is the equivalent of church bells. Opponents argued that church bells have no religious significance and that allowing the Arabic call, which lasts less than two minutes, unfairly elevates Islam above other religions.

Hey, Mobile, when did the picture change in the signature???

I changed it a couple of days ago, after the Feast of Divine Mercy I thought it would be appropriate to change it because "Jesus makes everything new" ;)

Actually, you might be surprised to learn that there are plenty of white-supremacist "Christian" churches around. Mostly in the south.

Muslims do not compromise with "infidels"...you don't get it. They're NOT compromisers...it's not a part of the culture or religion.

You have to understand Islam. It's NOT peaceful, contrary to the jive some might tell you. They have a very definite agenda and we are the enemy. The goal is to erradicate the enemy.

It's something we, as Christians, can't begin to fathom. Our American heritage is so contrary to this kind of programming.

They are as extreme as fanatic militia who hate the government and go off into survival camps.

It's a mindset that says, "Beleive as I do or ELSE...."

It's revenge oriented.

They will not stop at a little speaker...it will become a precedent and the speakers will sprout like poppies.

Actually I wrote that as a response to what catsmeow said when she stated "Muslims do not compromise with "infidels"...you don't get it"

I get it alright. That statement made as much sense as what I stated, and I made mine deliberately. To lump the murderous fundamentalist and radical Muslims terrorist together with all of Islam and say they represent Islam makes as mush sense as I when I stated the klu klux klan and other murderous hate groups represent Christians or Christian values.

Those fanatical, murderous despicable people (terrorist, al queda, Islamic religious fundamentalist, klu klx klan, arian nation, supraracists, etc) use religion (both Christian and Islam) to justify their own evil intentions.

One of my closest friends is Muslim. We have eaten together, shared both joyous and sad situations together, and yes, we have prayed to the same God together. Moslems as a whole are not the hate filled revenge minded wild people that is often associated with them. On the contrary they love peace and harmony and good will as much as Christians. Like Ishmael was Isaac

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
