Hey Everyone :noidea:

Well, I have to be honest, I can feel the knots in my stomach getting tighter and tighter as I type

I got "saved" when I was 8, baptized when I was 9. However, i was doubting my salvaiton when I was 13, have since quesitoned many times about gettnig baptized again because there is a GOOD chance I didn't get saved when I was 8.... and probably before 13 or slightly thereafter... or somewhere between then and now.

The point is, is that I know that baptism is public profession of faith and it should be AFTER salvation. It's following the Lord is believers' baptism and if it's before salvation, it's just getting the person wet

So.... after 5 years of fighting it, I finally told my youth pastor after the morning service, "I need to get baptized" because I knew if I didn't speak up, I'd talk myself out of it again, and now I have to talk to pastor.

I am downright terrified of this, despite that I was baptized oh... let's see... NINE YEARS AGO..... ....

So.. here's my question.... Has anyone here ever gotten rebaptized? In particular, has anyone gotten rebaptized in the same church they were previously baptized in???

Yes, I was first baptised when I was quite a young teenager because my brother and all his friends were doing it. I believe I was a Christian at that stage but I certainly didn't understand the signficance of baptism. Later, when my faith was very much deeper and I understood much more fully the significance of baptism, I was baptised again. My Pastor did not see any reason why I shouldn't and it was a real blessing!

Yep, and I don't think there is anything wrong with it, if it makes you feel better! :74_74:

re dedication......

you may or may not wish to do this, and you may or may not do this with a dunking......

the first time i was "baptized" i was sprinkled as an infant.... more of a baby dedication or falling in line with the old laws.... i did not have a name until that day..... i was given a piece of paper with my name on it.....

the second time, I was baptized to join a church, to get my name on a piece of paper...... it still really had nothing to do with my relationship with the Lord......

the third time, I was baptized, it was to also "join" a church..... they would not recognize a baptism from another denomination, saying theirs was the only one that was a true baptism... again, my name was placed on a piece of paper, saying i am now a member of that church......

over the years, i realized, that i was really missing out, that i really did not have a relationship with the Lord, even though i had been a member of a church all my life, and that i have served on the boards as elder and deacons and such.....

the Lord was really dealing with me over this, and showed me my past...... so I re dedicated my life, and as a profession of this, I publicly gave this testimony, and I was not baptized for a piece of paper, but for the Lord......

since that day, my life has completely went around in circles, at times i did not know which way was up... but have been doing for the Lord ever since.....

I can understand this feeling.

Just remember that fear is the devil's tactic; conviction is the Holy Spirit's way.

You're fine kittylover! :36:

At age 12 I was " sprinkled " and called baptised. Thru the years it began to nag me as i began to understand the word better.

After a time I believe I was being burdened by the spirit, I was again baptised by submersion.

I agree with one of the responses, fear is not of G-d.

Talk with your pastor.

I was baptised twice..

The second time was more meaningful to me and that is why I did it..It was not a necessary action but what I wanted ...

and I do understand the anxiety... :6:

It is to me kind of like the act of a woman getting married..not to be taken lightly...a public proclamation ..

A Joy and a commitment ...

You are saying You are a born again new creation in Christ Jesus to the world..and committing your life to God... :36:

Father thank You for the blessing of this young lady..

Thank You for her heart that desires to serve You..

Bless her and hold her close and let her heart rest in You...

Let this time of commitment be filled with joy... :74_74:

Yes , others have done it...I think it is a better thing to really know what God wants from you and to be baptized then.

Many run in to it without knowing its real call.

You will be just fine there. I pray for Gods Glory overwhelms you contiually and Jesus ministers to you in such a great way that people will just see you and know you stand in His statutes always. patricia1

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
