Here is one of the articles I was thinking of. I actually said pork, but it is oysters, shrimp and other meats--my bad, oysters, shrimp, duck are considered unclean and not allowed by SDA's either.

I can't find the quote for the meat eaters not being translated. I e-mailed Mr. Sanders and he usually gets right back to me. As soon as I find it I'll post it.

I did find this:

EGW: The eating of pork has produced scrofula, leprosy, and cancerous humors. Pork eating is still causing the most intense suffering to the human race. Counsels on Diet and Foods, page 393, paragraph 2.

Note: Pigs and animals do not ever carry leprosy, except the armadillo and sometimes rodents such as mice in their foot pads. Because pigs cannot carry leprosy they cannot transmit leprosy to humans. Have you ever heard of one case of leprosy caused by eating pork? The amount of pork eaten around the world there should be a plague of leprosy if this were true.

After I became a Christian, I studied the basics of many cults and religions in order to better equip myself for dealing with adherants thereof. Seveth Day Adventist, for some reason, was not one of them.

When all is said and done, the word of God and the salvation message is universal.

Surely you aren't saying that people who are SDAs are not capable of being born again?

It's not for me to say who is born again. I do know that many, many are coming out. I'm on another forum just for former adventists and people questioning. They get new members all the time and the stories are almost identical. Some question came up, God sent someone that told truth, they read Galatians--almost every one, including myself read Galatians while God was dealing with us!

I think that someone can be saved and deceived, but then I believe if they are saved they will continue to grow in knowlege and grace and study their way out. Remember Jesus told the Pharisees they were always learning and never coming to the knowledge of the truth.

So many are just comfortable, their friends are there, their family is there, then you have people telling you that Ellen White predicted people would be deceived in the last days and leave the church. They are scared to death! Considering the influence Ellen was under, Satan knew that God would bring His church together in the last days and that the Spirit would be poured out, so he knew those seeking God would leave.

They appear harmless and that is the danger. These food rules are a little silly, I'll post some scary stuff and you can decide what spirit the church is founded on.
