I would have to say faith plus confession and repentance. The Bible states that even the devils believe in Jesus and tremble at his name, but they are not saved. Faith comes first, but that faith must be acted upon. I have known of a lot of people that believe in the Lord, but don't serve him.

In view of Eph 2:8-9, no one can argue with that, brother,as it takes faith to believe that Jesus can save you ultimately, but I believe myself, your calling on the name of the must be from a repentant heart, because if it is not, what are you asking Jesus to forgive you of. After all salvation is the deliverance, by redemption, from sinning and the consequences of that sinning.

Thank you for your input bro, it is always appreciated.

What about this scripture? Paul and Silas are in prison at Philippi. There is a big earthquake and the prisoners are set free. The jailer thinks they have escaped and goes to kill himself. Paul, seeing this, yells to the man and tells him to hold as everyone was still there. Then.....

Acts 16:29-31 "He (Paul's jailer) called for lights and sprang in, and, fell down trembling before Paul and Silas, and brought them out and said, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your house." (WEB) So, was Paul mistaken? Did he leave something out? Did he tell a half truth? Was he oversimplifying the matter? Or are we making it more difficult than it has to be? Are we putting more into it than what God requires?

"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your house". Yes I do think we write more into things that are not there. Somethings that are in scriptures in various places and spoken by different people may say it different in words but mean the same thing.

If one believes in the Lord Jesus Christ that is to call upon the name of the Lord so if one believes for the first time then repentance follows believing. If your family then believes and repents of their sin they to will be saved.

So that is why I say, "Go And Sin "No" More". For that is the very heart of God that all would come to a place repentance and that we go and sin no more. That doesn't mean we want ever falter or fail along the way but we have an advocate with the Father.

Any other stipulations? Like who can do the baptizing?

Let us see!

Colossians 2:11-13

11In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ, 12having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.

No. It doesn't say here.

All it says is that we were buried with Christ in baptism and raised in the power of God, in the same way that God's power raised Jesus from the dead.

Parallel passages include:

Romans 6:3-7

3Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

5If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. 6For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin

No, we just leave some out. Finish the rest of the passage that you quoted.

And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. - Acts 16:32-33

Remember, Jesus made this statement for a reason:

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. - Mark 16:15-16

When we believe the gospel and are baptized we will be saved. If we don't believe the gospel we wouldn't get baptized anyway and we would be damned.

Even though baptism itself doesn't save us it still has a huge part in God's plan of salvation. It was mentioned already in Romans what happens in baptism. Many have said that baptism takes away from the work Jesus did on the cross, but Romans tells us that in baptism we are buried and resurrected with Jesus into his death and those who are dead are freed from their sins.

Along with faith and repentance there must also be baptism for the remission of our sins (Acts 2:38).

Also there is only one baptism that we have been give for us to perform and we see that throughout the book of Acts that is is in water.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
